Traditional 2 bedroom village house gives authentic Spanish feel

Village house in old Oliva town.Roof top with lovely views over town to sea, orange groves and mountains. The house,sleeps 4 in one double room and one twin room. It is s equipped to a high standard for comfortable stays whether short or long. Furniture for outdoor dining in secluded courtyard and roof terrace. Outside BBQ. Two minutes walk to popular local bar restaurant, small supermarket, cafe and bodega. Great for holidays all year round - as we have air con and a log fire !!.British and Spanish TV service . Great base for exploring the area or simply relaxing . The beach remains remarkably uncrowded during the summer.

About Dave and Pam McKee

We fell in love with Spain many years ago via package holidays on the Costas and then further exploration inland. It was always a dream to have our own place and we managed this in 2002 opting for the old area of the town rather than the beach but this suits us fine! We are both from careers in Human Resources and the Courts Service and are now able to spend more time at the house relaxing, exploring and cooking with the great selection of fresh ingredients available.

Why Dave and Pam McKee chose Oliva

We love the town as tourism is not its prime industry so you feel a part of the real Spain. This said, the beach is lovely and never really overcrowded, a bit busier on weekends when local families use the beach but there's plenty of room for everyone! It's about 8 mins drive from the house and is great for winter walks as well as summer swimming and sunbathing. The town has a great selection of bars and restaurants and is well placed if you want to travel further afield to Valencia, Alicante or live it up in Benidorm! The winter sun and the oranges growing in the groves in January just lifts the spirits.

The drive from the airports at Valencia or Alicante are just about an hour making even a long weekend worthwhile.

The town has various fiestas during the year notably Easter Weekend, San Jose Fallas in March and the Moors and Christians parades in July .Winter sunshine abounds and the house can be made cosy with a log fire .

What makes this house unique

The size of the house is just fine for 4 - and not too much work for the 2 of us when we visit! By equipping the house to a good standard, we have tried to make it a home from home for ourselves and for our family and guests to enjoy as well.

The roof terrace gives views over the town whilst the courtyard with its BBQ area gives privacy for outdoor dining.

We are happy to consider pets with their considerate owners for a small extra charge.

The local bar restaurant is excellent value for money and only round the corner - used by Spanish and Brits alike!.(Sometimes it's too handy !!)

We have Spanish and British neighbours which gives a nice feel to the street.

Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The house is cleaned and prepared for you with bed linen and towels pillows, duvets/blankets provided. Minimum rental charge see rental rates. Other: Wifi access available at local bar /restaurant. "Locutorio" in town have hi speed broadbandwith pc and printing facities for c €1 per hour

Great location.

Casa Cariad is well positioned in Olivia Old Town with good access to roads to many interesting places. The house is beautifully equipped with three outside terraces. The main one off the kitchen has a good BBQ. The bedrooms are air conditioned, which is very useful during the hot nights. The house benefits from U.K. satellite TV. The view from the top terrace looks out over Olivia town and towards the sea and is very picturesque at night. The house is very comfortable and a welcome return after a day at the beach/sightseeing. Also the washing machine was invaluable.

Thanks to Pam and Dave for making their home truly a "home from home".

Lovely house, lovely town

If you want to experience life in an old Spanish town, but with the beach only minutes away, this is it. Oliva is a great base to explore inland as well. The upper terrace view of the old town and Med is stunning. I just wish I had gotten up every morning to watch the sunrise.

Oliva Town House

The outside space to the house was a bonus, private courtyard off kitchen, private mid terrace off rear bedroom leading to a fair sized roof terrace (not in any shade from sunrise to sunset) with far reaching views all round and still secluded. All the information you would need to make your stay in and around the town has been laid out in a comprehensive welcome pack. Car parking at top of road 2 minutes away. We found the owners friendly and very communicative and easily reached and will be staying again in the near future. You can easily become lost in the maze of narrow streets but the size of the town and the friendliness of both the locals and ex pats make it an enjoyable experience plus there is plenty of free wifi in bars and restaurants. Also good local supermarkets with pricing to match for those on a tight budget. LoveLLLLLLLLY James and Galina

There is easy access to the countryside for walking lovers

The lovely city of Valencia accessible by car (70 mins) or train (45mins)

Coastal towns of Denia (20 mins), Altea and Benidorm 45 mins drive. In late February the almond blossom in the Jalon Valley is a beautiful sight - just half an hour away.
