It has 3 unique castles with many traditional local shops and supermarket. The house is set back off the beaten track and boasts of a secluded garden overlooking 2.5 acres of private land. To the side of the house there is a quiet garden to enjoy a quiet glass of wine in the evenings. About Mrs White
My husband, 12 year old son and I live in England. Before we had our son we always loved to travel to many parts of Europe and on one of our trips to Spain we accidently discovered this beautiful part of France that we'd never heard of. As well as our home in France my husband has his family apartment in Spain which is equally lovely. Unfortuanately we both work so we can't spend as much time as we'd like to in our homes but we enjoy renting them out to our guests so they can have as much enjoyment as we have when we visit. We take a lot of time and trouble to ensure our home is well kept and have some fantastic people helping us keep our home in good condition so our guests can enjoy their time with us. We hope you agree and enjoy your time in our home.
Mrs White purchased this Cottage in 2002
Why Mrs White chose Lassay-les-Châteaux
My husband and I live in England and before we had our son we always loved to travel to many parts of Europe and so on one of our trips to Spain we accidently discovered this beautiful part of France that we'd never heard of. It wasn't long before we were seduced back to Lassay and the area of Bagnoles de L'orne and before we knew it we'd bought La Refoulerie. We absolutely adore this untouched landscape not to mention the fresh air, natural produce which is second to none and of course the bagettes! Where in the world can you get a better loaf? :-) When we come to La Refoulerie these days it's usually to get the house ready for our guests. We want you to relax and enjoy the natural beauty and all the pleasures of our lovely home. Welcome to La Refoulerie!
What makes this Cottage unique
When you wake up in the morning you will hear the birds singing and no traffic in the distance. Our two neighbours are exceptional and are always very welcoming to our guests. You can have breakfast on the patio and listen to the babling stream. The air is clear and fresh and you will be a few minutes drive away from a lovely fresh bagettes, croissants and freshly baked cakes. The butcher is just a few doors away where you can pick a lovely steak to have that evening not to mention the cheeses and pates! If you want to experience the adventurous outdoors there are so many places to visit you just need to venture 20 minutes away to Bagnoles de L'Orne and you will find the local Tourist Office which will give you all the information you will need to have a wonderful holiday.

We have had some family illness since December 2017 so I have not had much time to give this review much thought. Having been through some traumatic months I am now able to focus on the comments made by our guest.
We have been renting our home for 15 years (through different agents) and sadly this is the first time we have ever had any of our guests make such strong comments about their stay. What is surprising is that our guest arrived in August 2017 and contacted us several times asking for help on how to work the TV. During these communications she did not once mention the fact that the house was not in a good state. If there was any dissatisfaction we would have acted immediately to rectify the situation but sadly our guest waited 8 months to make these comments which we find rather strange. As result of these comments, we have clearly suffered loss of business which has been rather upsetting as we continue to maintain our home to ensure our guests have an enjoyable stay.
Social media can be very helpful but it can also be very damaging. I hope not everyone is swayed solely by negative comments and will give our home another chance.
The next person who books with us will get a 20% discount so please give us a go.
