|Minimum Stay||2 - 3 nights|
Villa Santai exudes the genuine Balinese atmosphere because of the natural materials used such as hardwood, teak, stones and granite in the bathrooms and the kitchen. The entire ground floor is open, except for the bedrooms, giving you the great ‘outdoor living’ experience of the tropics.
The villa is set up very spacious and has a large tropical garden directly adjacent to the beach. It has a large, natural shaped, private swimming pool with a landscaped waterfall. Around the pool you find a spacious terrace with sun beds and a bale benong to relax. The villa has 4 tastefully furnished bedrooms, 1 family room (can be used as 5th bedroom), 4 bathrooms, a large open living area, kitchen and a roof terrace with a second bale benong from which you have a splendid view.
The villa is located on a secluded area of a villa park of which you can use the facilities including a Spa for Balinese massages and a wooden boat on the beach where you can enjoy the beautiful sunset with a drink.
Villa Santai is located directly at the beach of Lovina-Beach, about 10 minutes drive west from Lovina, the tourist centre of the north.
Lovina is a small but lively village with restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, Spa's for massages and treatments, supermarkets, local markets and a bakery for fresh bread in the morning.
In and around Lovina you have a rich choice of restaurants with delicious national and international cuisines. The prices are still very low, especially in this north part of Bali.
Lovina is known for the dolphins which you can see every morning at dawn during a boat trip. Due to the large population of shrimps at this particularly coastline you will find here year round many dolphins. The boat can be surrounded by dozens of dolphins jumping and playing. If you book a trip, you can arrange to be picked up by a boat in front of the villa. In hotel Melka in Lovina you can actually swim with dolphins.
Snorkeling and Diving: The Balinese sea near Lovina offers several places for great snorkelling and diving. Because of the shallow and calm sea, you will have a good view of the tropical fish.
Certainly worthwhile is a snorkelling or diving trip to Menjangan Island (1 hour drive & 30 minutes by boat). Around the island you will find many colourful fish and coral and this snorkelling site is also very convenient for children as you can start snorkelling directly from the shore of the island. Also worthwhile is a trip to the East coast of Bali (Tulamben) to dive to the famous American war wreck U.S. Liberty.
There are a number of PADI diving schools in Lovina, including a 5 star PADI school called Bali Spice Dive and the well-known school Blue Season Bali Diving at the Zen Resort in Seririt. If you book a snorkelling- or diving trips with one of these schools, they will pick you up at the villa.

We stayed with 6 people in this amazing villa with outdoor seating and kitchen. There is a large tropical well maintained garden including swimmingpool and waterfall next to the beach. Staff is very friendly and helpfull wit cooking, washing and cleaning up. There is a lot of privacy with different warungs and shady spots in the garden. The large master bedroom is upstairs and the other three bedrooms downstairs. You need a driver to explore the beautifull area. Ask for Ketut. We Had a great stay with our family.
In December, 2015 we spent nine days at Villa Santai and can only say 'Thank you' – it is an exceptional place with plenty of options to unwind and relax.
The villa itself is big, providing enough room for 9 people, including a dining area and several community areas (eg. garden, upper deck, lower deck).
The villa and surroundings are clean and well-maintained. The 'staff' are super friendly and sweet, accommodating around any plans and wishes. They were lovely and very helpful. Thank you very much!
The customer service pre-arrival was just as good - excellent communication and support with all travel preparation. Again, thank you.
We spent the holiday here for a family reunion with people arriving from different places. For such, I can only recommend Villa Santai.
Other activities or places are further away and, as such, we booked either cars or scooters with which the team helped at all times. The villa is a good base for diving activities up north or discovering places further inland.
It is not a place for those seeking entertainment and a lot of action. For a casual, yet nice lunch/dinner we can recommend Sea Breeze Cafe in Lovina – great ocean views and a wonderful place to watch the sunset.
There is a spa attached to the garden where you can book massages. Hence, we often just moved between the amazing pool, reading on one of the day beds, massages and eating yummy food... that's how you picture a holiday, don't you?
Overall, a great experience that we would recommend.
Thank you and all the best.
This place is wonderfull. We (2 adults, 2 kidz) stayed for 7 days in this beautifull villa, perfectly located for daytrips to the mountains, Lake Batur and for daytrip to Menjangan Island for instant. Pick up for early morning tour to see the dolphins just at the beach in front of your villa. The staff, helpdesk and driver are very kind. Really recommand it and we will come back one day!
We stayed in five different villas in Bali over the last month and this was the best.
It is everything that is displayed on the website.
The host was fantastic in keeping in touch with us and making sure our stay was easy and enjoyable.
The villa is spotless and very comfortable and the boat at the end of the garden is fantastic-best massage all holiday and a great place to have a drink and watch the sunset.
The staff were wonderful and provided us with fantastic meals each day and made us really welcome -we wanted to take them home with us.
Our only regret is that we did not book a longer stay here.
I would recommend this property to anyone staying in Lovina and would stay here again.
We had a great holiday in Villa Santai. We stayed there the first week of January and it has been great. The ladies of the house took good care of us by cooking delicious meals and keeping the house clean. Also our children loved them!!
Villa Santai is located right on the sandy beach nearby Lovina (10 min. drive), the coastal town known for the many dolphins you can see in the morning at sunrise.
The surroundings provide ample scope for exploring, discovery and activities. Beautiful beaches, terraced rice-fields, plantations, mountains, temples and some nice villages and towns are close by, such as Lovina and Singaraja. This old capital of Bali is home to the Gedong Kirtya library where you will find the famous Lontar Manuscripts. South of Singaraja you find he most spectacular waterfall of Bali, the Git Git waterfall.
About 10 minutes from the villa the Buddhist monastery, Brahma Vihara Arama, also called the little Borobodur, is worth a visit, just as the famous Hot Springs of Air Panas which are 5 minutes away. You will find wonderful snorkelling and diving sites, such as Menjangan Island nearby and also one of the finest golf courses in Asia, the Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club, is just an hour's drive away
Other Activities: Snorkelling, beach strolls, dolphin trips, swimming with dolphins, rice field tours
In Bedugul, at about 1 hour drive from the villa, you find a beautiful 18-hole golf course called 'Bali Handara Kosaido Country Club”. This golf course is among the top-5 courses in Asia and is designed by the renowned architect Peter Thompson. The golf course is beautifully located on a mountainside at a height of more than 1,100 meters.
