Best Girls/Moms trip ever!
What a wonderful place to spend time with good friends! We cooked in the well equipped kitchen and on the BBQ, had a wine tasting, went for walks, antiquing, lunches out, several of the Normandy sites... I could go on! We loved our relaxing visit and maybe next year the husbands can come! Thank you for sharing your warm home with us! Linda D.
The property is beautiful and easy to get to!! Close to many Normandie destinations, but a great place to stay during the say as well. Great place and great trip
Fabulous place!! Can't wait to come back again!!!
This was my second time staying at the chateau and it is one of my favorite places to visit! The house is perfect, the rooms are spacious, and the property is beautiful! Kelly is the best! Loved making bonfires by the pond, and feeding the horses. There are many towns a short drive away where you can find everything you need! Would definitely visit again this place is amazing!!!
The property is gorgeous and the house even more so. While we spent quite a bit of time exploring different things in and around Normandy we also found ourselves spending hours on the property itself.
When we return to France we will be stopping by Normandy if for no other reason than to stay here. Thank you Mrs. Corbett for a fantastic experience and being so helpful prior to and during our time in this beautiful home!
Wonderful everything worked out including the weather! Colombe and Yves loved your group and the chickens enjoyed your leftovers! You are most welcome anytime!
Awesome French Chateau
Felt the need to write a review that is long overdue! My girlfriends and I (small group of 6) have gone many times over the last decade. The Chateau is a historic, french country home with ample space for all of us. It is as though you have stepped back into a simpler place and time. This is to me its biggest charm. It allows our group to connect with each other, which is one of the reasons we have gone back time and tiime again. The locals are frinedly and inclusive, which adds so much to the experience. My poor attempts to speak french are greeted warmly. There are so many amazing sites. Omaha beaches are a must. Unbelieveable and very moving! Also love Cancale where you sit on the beach and eat all the oysters you can. Lots of great towns close by with great shopping and historical sites. Love Coutances and Granville. The weekends briing great markets and massive town yard sales (like nothing you have ever seen) . The hunt to find great gifts to bring back to the states for only a euro or 2 makes for a fun day. The sausage baguette is breakfast...can never get enough of those. YUM!! They are at every market and town sale. The real charm is staying at the house at the end of the day. We always dine out for lunch but dinner at the house infront of the massive fireplace keeps us warm all night long.
Do make plans for a car, as you will need it. If you want a driver and tour guide, that is also available. Contact the owner, who can give you ample names for driving, catering and other services. I have done both. First time there, I recommend driver so you sit back, relax and take in the sites. Beautiful country! If you feel the need to dance, only 5 minutes away is (in the middle of a field) a disco. Its a hoot....always fun stories to share later.
Normandy is truly one of my favorite places in Europe. So much to see and this place is charming and unique.....always a good time.
Perfect home in Normandy!
We had the best time in Normandy at this completely authentic French chateau. Location is perfect for seeing all the tourist spots in Normandy and exploring all the surrounding towns. The house itself is so beautiful -- built in the 1600s and all its charm preserved.
Kelly was so helpful before and during our stay, and we look forward to returning here on our next trip!
Special interest holidays:
Located near beautiful places for swimming, hiking, painting, nautical, tennis, biking, facilities, sightseeing, horseback riding, shopping and antiquing etc.
Located within 20 minute drive to more than a dozen coastal communities and within an hour of D-day beaches too.
Caen airport is the closest airport to the chateau. You will need to rent or hire a car. Trains are nearby as well but would require a car. Cherbourg is an hour 10 min by car and again a car is available and essential. Granville is 25 min by car and trains are there as well.
The closest town, Hambye is approx 3km. Coutances is 15 min by car for shopping, sightseeing and restaurants. St Malo is 25 min away by car with much to see and do. Gavray is about 13 km with good restaurants and Villedieu les Poeles is a 18 minute drive with trains to Paris and known for the copper pots it produces.
The historic Bayeux tapestry, D-day beaches and sites, le Mont St Michel, cathedrals, antiquing, Villdieu for shopping as well as all of the incredible beach communities with abundant amounts of fresh seafood, picnics in the countryside, fresh produce, dairy products, local meats, tranquility and the most beautiful day and evening sky on the planet are just a few things you will want to enjoy while you are here.
