The property is a perfect base for an Algarve holiday. The Old Village is one of the premier locations in the area, and is a development with real character. The gardens are superbly maintained. Restaurants, shops, bars and two pools are just a short walk away. A roof terrace offers 'al-fresco' dining, and has lovely views to the sea and along the coast. Vilamoura's famous golf courses are close by, and venturing further afield the town of Quartiera has wonderful markets for fresh produce and fish.

About Simon Westcott

Our family has owned this property since it was built in the early 1980's. We live in the UK, and love to visit Portugal whenever we can. We even have a Portuguese dog, who seems to like the UK as much as we like Portugal!

Now that our children have grown up, we are able to offer our property to other families so that they can enjoy it to.

We believe in offering our clients the very best service possible - helped by really wonderful local agents who are there to assist our clients should they need it.

Why Simon Westcott chose Vilamoura

We were looking for a family-friendly location in the Algarve and visited Vilamoura in the early days of its development. It was obvious that it was going to be something special, and it really has exceeded our dreams.

The Old Village is the most wonderful location, very cleverly designed and immaculately maintained. There's a wonderful sub-tropical charm about the place. It's quiet and relaxed yet has enough bars and restaurants to keep the most discerning guests happy.

What makes this condo unique

Our property overlooks gardens and is in one of the prettiest parts of the Old Village. It's quiet, yet central.

An evening meal or lunch on the roof terrace is just pure bliss. There are wonderful views across the rooftops and out to sea. What a great way to enjoy a few grilled sardines and a glass of vinho verde!

We had a fantastic time and couldn't fault it. From the moment we arrived at the airport onwards we were so well looked after by all staff etc it was really great. The apartment was lovely with all mod cons, and the facilities were brilliant. We are already talking of a party of us returning next year. You have been very professional from start to finish, making this an ideal holiday and one we would love to repeat. V&D V

Notes on accommodation: Both bedrooms are air-conditioned for summer comfort. Wall mounted heaters offer warmth in the off-season months. The property is excellent for children as all amenities are available within the complex. The main pool has a huge 'shallow end' for safe bathing. Car rental and excursions can be arranged through our local property agents if required. Please note that the property has a stone spiral staircase. It might not be suitable for the very young or elderly. Outside: The gardens are a highlight of the Old Village and help give provide its unique character. Flowers and shrubs abound, and a huge bougainvillea graces the entrance to the property. The main pool at the Old Village is stunning, and often features on local postcards. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided. Property is cleaned and towels/linen changed once weekly. Other: Roof terrace with sunbeds, table and chairs, parasol.

A relaxing and enjoyable stay - highly recommended

We very much enjoyed our stay at this property in the Old Village. The booking process was seamless and Simon was organised and prompt in all correspondence - a pleasure to deal with. The property itself is as described. While small, the rooftop terrace was very pleasant. It's a 20 minute stroll down to the marina. Anybody with mobility issues may struggle with the stairs leading up to the apartment and those inside. However this wasn't an issue for us.

Fabulous Apartment

We had an amazing holiday staying in the Old Village, Vilamoura. The complex is very well maintained, beautiful plants/flowers and buildings. We have stayed in a couple of properties here in past years. This property ticked all the boxes cannot fault it! Brilliant location and I would highly recommend it.

Perfect for what we needed. Great location

Great location and lovely town house accommodation. Everything we needed. Good Air conditioning which was very much needed. Check in was very straight forward. The ‘Old Village’ is a great place, supermarket, bakery, 3 pools, where you have to pay for sun beds though, 1.50 for the morning and 1.50 in the afternoon, so can mount up if there are 4 of you if you are 5here for more than a week! and a good number of restaurants and bars to choose from. Most bars had happy hours with very reasonable prices. We did feel the restaurants were quite expensive and preferred to go to the marina for food in the evening, just a 15 min walk to there and about 4.50 euros to get back. The apartment had a roof terrace where there was a BBQ which we used a couple of times, great views from there and a great place to have breakfast. Communication with the owners was exellent before we left, we couldn’t have asked for better. All in all a great holiday and would definitely recommend this property.

Nice apartment,, great location.

Good apartment, very clean and a comfortable bed. Everything that you required was there including a welcome bottle of wine and water. Lovely, quiet location and good roof terrace.

Wonderful Old Village

This was our 7th visit to the Old Village and 4th time we have stayed at Simon & Carol's apartment. We cannot fault the facilities, the information and dealings with Simon are always very good, as is the agent, very friendly and helpful. We love this part of Portugal amd will be back again soon.

Location

Coast/Beach:

Falasia is one of the largest stretches of beach in the Algarve, stretching from Vilamoura to Albufeira. It's within walking distance, but not for young children or in the heat of the summer. A regular bus service runs within Vilamoura, and this stops at the beach. If you're renting a car, there's covered parking there.

Travel:

Vilamoura is 20 minutes drive (25 kms) from Faro Airport. If you're not renting a car, it's an easy taxi-ride. You can organise a taxi (or minibus) for the journey from the airport at the time of booking your holiday. Car rental is really not necessary unless you want to venture further afield.

Distances:

There's a fantastic fish market and excellent fruit/vegetable market in Quarteira, about 3 kms from the Old Village. The fishing port of Portimao is 45 kms away - grilled sardines in one of the quay-side restaurants is a hightlight of many a trip to the Algarve.

A £100 deposit is payable upon booking. The rental charge is due two months prior to the rental start date. Your deposit will be returned after the property has been inspected at the end of the rental period. Changeover Day:
The preferred changeover day is Saturday, but we are able to offer some flexibility on this. Guests are asked to vacate the property by 10 am. We request arrivals after 2pm, please.
