Overview

Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday condo in Stowe - Skyview

Condo, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Combine the majestic beauty of Stowe, Vermont with a charmingly designed, warm, welcoming, sunny, comfortable condo and you have all the makings for a great vacation. Add your own special touches - swooshing downhill, riding quiet roads, sunset dining, golfing in the mountains -and it becomes memorable.

After a great day outdoors you want to come back to a place that welcomes you in an atmosphere of harmony and relaxation. As soon as you open the door of Skyview you'll know you made the right choice. Just like Stowe, there's something right about this place. It's comfortable with a touch of elegance. All the basics are here (quality beds and comforters) plus lots of extra touches to make it special (i.e., custom made drapery, our own highspeed WiFi, Cuisinart Blender/Food processor, Fujitsu Air Conditioner, Speakman Luxury Showerhead, mobile device charging lamps, and more).

NEW in SKYVIEW:

* Queen-sized Serta IComfort Memory Foam mattress and boxspring for the master bedroom. It makes a difference. You're gong to sleep really well.

* Whirlpool stainless steel refrigerator

* Pasta pot/vegetable steamer - it makes pasta night easy.

t

The fully-equipped kitchen has new appliances and dimming halogen counter lights. Use the slow cooker to prepare a no fuss tasty hot meal.

Enjoy your meals around a beautiful wood table with rattan chairs graced by original lithographs. Set the lighting you want with the dimmer switch or candlelight.

The soapstone fireplace in the living room provides warmth and a beautiful glow. The sofa, love seat, chair, and oversized ottoman make it a great place to sit, watch movies or sports with the home theater surround sound, listen to music, read, talk, play board games, or simply watch the snow fall. (We have movies, board games, cards, poker chips, and books.)

What are the sleeping arrangements?

The master bedroom has a queen bed, private full bathroom and a 32 inch flat screen TV with a blu-ray DVD player. The front room has a double exposure (view of the mountains) and a queen bed. The middle room has two single beds. There's a full bathroom in the hallway for these two rooms. If you need more sleeping space, the couch has a pull-out queen bed.

How far are you from the slopes?

Skyview's location is ideal. Get to the village in 5 minutes and the slopes in 9 minutes (literally) and yet still be off the road, nestled in a mountain, in a peaceful, private setting. Walk down the hill for some tasty chicken wings and a beer at the Sunset Grille or to Piecasso, Stowe's most popular restaurant. Want some deli or pastries? Go out the back of the resort and find Edelweiss Deli and Bakery across the road. All the restaurants ( 50), shops( 75), galleries, and attractions are nearby.

Walk down the hill for the free trolley that runs between the village and the ski slope. The mountain has the best snow-making capacity on the East Coast. If it's cold there's skiing. There's also a beautiful new skating rink. If it's warm there's zip-lining and hiking.

Skyview: location, privacy, calm, and comfort in a deluxe decor with an eye to the details that make a place special.

What do people say about Skyview?

***Your place rocks! It was a pleasure staying here.

Jean Bae and friends

***We are so relaxed and have enjoyed our visit. Your condo is a great place for a family reunion and Stowe is a great village. Thanks for the cozy atmosphere.

The Cottrells

***The past few days have been great! Relaxing in the evening, cooking great meals and tons of outstanding skiing during the day! The only wish is that we could stay a little longer - next year, when I'm making arrangements, remind me! What sounds logical in October isn't always the way you feel in December the morning you are packing up! You have a lovely home - thanks for sharing! Fondly - The Tompkins Family

***You thought of every detail to create the ultimate mountain retreat. I love it! The video selection was a big hit with the boys, and the pool of course. I recommend the Jacuzzi and sauna after a long hike. We hiked to Smugglers Notch: gorgeous vistas! We'll be back!

Sophie K

***Thank you for making our stay in Stowe so comfortable. The children were delighted with all the swimming, tennis and great hikes. . . . wonderful week. One of our highlights was swimming in the river nearby. It brought back many a fond memory of my youth in British Columbia.

Charlotte Rochana & Family

***Thanks so much for providing our family with such comfortable, beautiful home for our week here in Stowe. Your attention to detail in decorating and including all the high-tech and gourmet appliances and fabulous electronics really enhanced the time we spent inside the apartment. We especially enjoyed the Lafuma lounge chairs and spent much of our time out on the balcony.

While here, we hiked, did the Alpine Slide, Cabot Cheese factory tour, Ben & Jerry's, mini-golfing, loads of swimming, swimming in the rivers while on the path, horseback riding at Topnotch, tennis, farmer's market and shopping. What a full week!

Thanks again for making such a spectacular place for us to call home - we loved it!

The Kraus Family

Elkins Park, PA/New York, NY

P.S. We really appreciated the Pur water filter and the recycling.

***Thank you for starting our love affair with Stowe. It is beautiful here . . . so many great hiking trails - the views at the destinations are unmatched. It's so much fun going to all the shops and trying out the different foods and wines. We appreciate all your personal touches like the candles, the lounge chairs, and large video collection. Our only regret is that there are so many more things that we wanted to do.

The Ng Family

***Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us! We spent Christmas here in Stowe and we couldn't have picked a more wonderful and whimsical spot. We truly loved our stay here. We spent the week skiing, shopping historic Stowe, sampling great restaurants, watching movies, walking on the rec path, sitting in the hot tub and bonding with family.

About The Owner

I was born and raised in New York City, my wife was born and raised in Paris, Bourgogne, and Geneva. I grew up loving the beach and she grew up loving the mountains. We both love the outdoors, sports, art, culture, movies, and beauty.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2004

Why The Owner chose Stowe Area

A friend gave us her timeshare week and we looked for a summer vacation somewhere with a beautiful natural setting as an antidote for our family to life in NYC. We wound up in Stowe without knowing anything about it and loved it so much that we wound up buying the Christmas break timeshare week to go skiing. For the next nine years we enjoyed one week of skiing (both downhill and cross-country) in the winter wonderland that is Stowe. After nine years, we returned for a summer vacation and were reminded how absolutely gorgeous it is in the summer. While I went to ask for directions to a lake, my wife went into a real estate office. We purchased the condo and without hesitation we can now tell you it is a beautiful place in all seasons. It is truly one of the special places in the world.

What makes this condo unique

A beautiful place, with invigorating mountain air, and lots to see and do. Totally relaxing. It's country living but completely friendly to city dwellers who might want a choice of restaurants, shops, galleries, or access to a library. We love to hike in the mountains, go on long bike rides, walk on the Quiet Path, go to the Farmer's Market, take a dip in the swimming holes, see movies at the movie theater, enjoy the winter on downhill or cross-country skis, take walks with the dogs (they stay in a kennel, sorry no pets allowed), explore the Northeast Kingdom, do a little shopping, have meals on the deck, read, relax, get in touch with nature and ourselves. After more than a decade of going to Stowe, we love knowing that there are always new things to discover. Other than hitting off the driving range, golf hasn't been our thing, but it's easy to appreciate the beautiful surroundings for a round of golf at one of the 3 golf courses in Stowe.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We enjoyed our stay at Skyview as a cozy place to rendezvous with our adult children and their counterparts while we all enjoyed cross country skiing. It is in a convenient location, nice and clean, the beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked with what we needed to prepare and serve meals, complete with dishwasher. The parking lot was ample and well plowed. We were busy and did not have time to use the pool and other facilities, but it was nice to have them available to us. We did get to watch some of the winter Olympics on the big TV in the evening while enjoying the warmth of the stove. Very comfortable.

Well located/Well appointed

  • 4 of 5

Listing description was accurate. Nice property and very good amenities for our group of 5 adults, though quite cozy on a rainy day without use of the deck. Unfortunately, there was a mix up on our arrival date and this property (Skyview) was double booked that night. The Mountainside Resort management were very apologetic and helpful and found lodging for us elsewhere in the resort for the first night. The owner of Skyview contacted us during our stay, apologized for the mix up, and promptly refunded a night's stay. We had a family reunion planned the first two days so this was really inconvenient. I booked 60 days in advance and in the future, I will make sure I confirm my booking a couple days out.

Perfect Stowe Getaway

  • 4 of 5

Great location, easy check-in, just as described. Enjoyed the deck and pool. Would love to come back for a ski weekend this winter.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the kind words Chris. We think it's just about the best location in Stowe - just off the Mountain Road between the town and the mountain with some of the best restaurants, stores, and the recreation path just a short walk from our door. You're at the Stowe Cineplex (and everything else in town) in a flash and at the mountain in minutes, all while being tucked away off the main drag. We also love the deck. It's one of the few open air decks in our resort and might be the only one with flowers and an herb garden. Every spring Veronique plants flowers. This year we even had reports of a hummingbird sighting on our deck. (I've got to see that.) We like to be active in Stowe, but sometimes being on the deck under the Stowe sky in those genuine Lafuma zero gravity loungers is enough. Of course, we also have a covered front deck with a beautiful view of the Worcester Mountain range. Since we love being outdoors as much as possible, both decks have a table and chairs for dining al fresco! We'd love to have you back in the winter. Stowe's beautiful in the summer and a different kind of beautiful in winter. Come get your ski on. Think snow. Abraham

It was our first time using VRBO and Stowe and were delightfully surprised! Stowe is a great place for families and this condo has every single thing you can think of . We have two kids under 5 and had a great stay! This is a very spacious condo and the kitchen is very well equipped . My daughter is a very picky eater and we ended up cooking some meals for her and loved doing so . There was a huge collection of DVDs and books that we made use of during the kids nap time ! The place was spotless and you can tell the owners take great care of it ! This place is also very close to the recreation path which is a must do for any stowe visitor . The Trapp lodge with its great views was also not far from this place .

This resort has a small play ground which added a nice touch as well . After dinner time , we took the kids to the playground and they burnt off some good energy ! All in all we loved the place and would definitely go back !!

Owner's Response: We're so glad you and your family enjoyed staying in our condo. We love being here and do everything we can so guests can have the same experience. One of those things is making sure you have just about everything you need to cook and serve meals as if you were at home. We hate renting a condo and finding one or two ancient pans, a terrible knife, and no serving plates. Stowe has lots of restaurants, and of course we enjoy eating out, but we have neither the budget nor inclination to do that all the time. Stowe has good grocery stores and specialty shops, we enjoy cooking, and we have such a beautiful deck to enjoy dining al fresco. It's hard to beat that. Tonight we made chicken cacciatore over pasta. Delicious, easy (the new pasta pot helps), and inexpensive. We love dinner and a movie, sometimes it just happens to be at home.

EXCELLENT condo!!!!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We recently stayed at this residence over Easter Weekend 2016. The condo was PERFECT and we felt right at home. Myself and 3 kids had plenty of room. The location is dynamite only 10 mins from the slopes and 2 mins to town. There are 3 nice and easy restaurants within walking distance, which is very nice after a long day of skiing. My kids enjoyed the pool and commented how nice the beds were.

I would definitely go back to this location and the owner was very easy and responsive to work with. 10 for 10!!!!!

Owner's Response: Wow, what a great review. Thank you. We're so thrilled to hear that you had long days of skiing so late in the season in what turned out to be the roughest winter in memory. We so glad you'd like to come back. We started out enjoying Stowe in the winter, but it was coming back in the summer that made us decide to buy the condo. If you like fresh air, rivers, lakes, swimming holes, quiet country roads for driving or biking, and mountains for hiking or beauty, come back in the spring, summer, or fall - you'll see it's just as special. Regards, Abraham & Veronique

EXACTLY what we needed.

  • 4 of 5

Super clean, super cute.... PERFECT location. I wouldn't even say that you definitely needed a car if you were coming here. Cabs were easy to get, and there is a shuttle that takes you to the Mountain.

Just an awesome stay, and an awesome place. HIghly recommend the new bowling place, and The Whip for a great dinner.

Owner's Response: Hi Tara, Thanks for choosing our condo for your stay in Stowe. It makes us happy to hear that it was EXACTLY what your group needed. We love our location, nothing in Stowe is more than 10 minutes away, and some of the most popular spots are just a short walk (the Farmer's market, Piecasso, Idletyme, Sunset Grille). And while you might not want to do it in the winter, the restaurant you recommended The Whip, which is indeed lovely, is just a 2 mile walk from us along Stowe's famous recreation path. Good if you going to order the pie. Best, Abraham & Veronique

High quality bedding and great location!

  • 5 of 5

We were very pleased with this property. The kitchen had everything we needed as we did quite a bit of cooking. The location was great -easy to get to Stowe Mountain. The bedding was the best - beautiful quilts/comforters and very soft sheets - all the beds were very comfortable. The master bathroom was sluggish to drain -but the on site management were 'johnny on the spot' and came right over to fix. We used the pool/sauna/hot tub and enjoyed those amenities as well! I thought this was worth the cost!

Owner's Response: Anne, We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for the kind words. Stowe has lots of restaurants (including some good new ones) and it's fun to go out, but cooking "at home" can be great especially when you have the equipment you need - and we do. We just added a new pasta pot/vegetable steamer and replaced our pots and pans. We also just replaced the master bedroom quilt. We know that these are things that matter for a condo rental, so it's nice to hear they're appreciated. Regards, Abraham & Veronique
