Jessica Sechs is on the south west side of the top two floors of Jessica, a chalet built and designed by Iwan Kiechler in 2007. The contemporary design mixes up-to-date technology with some traditional alpine touches. All bedrooms have BOSE™ SoundDocks and flat screen TVs. There is a BOSE™ Lifestyle system in the living area. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a state-of-the-art Miele coffee machine. A large log fire opens on two sides into the dining and sitting areas. The double master bedroom (Alphubel) is adjacent to the living area and there is also a cloakroom with basin and WC on this floor. On the half landing, there is an office/study, ideal for using your computer. WiFi is accessible throughout the property. Upstairs, a twin bedroom (Mittaghorn) and second double bedroom (Langfluh) share the family bathroom. A third double bedroom (Cow Bell) shares an en-suite shower room with another twin (Waldesruh) which makes a lovely family suite if required. Wellness and ski rooms in the basement.

Due to the design and extensive use of old wood in the apartment, we do not feel it is suitable for children under 6 years old. Guests are wholly responsible for the safety of their children and the Owners accept no liability for any accident involving a child who is less than 6 years old.

We live at Bamburgh, Northumberland in the North East of England. Our children learnt to ski in Saas-Fee in the nineties and we have since been to similar resorts throughout Switzerland and Austria but none better than Saas-Fee!

Why James Brett chose Saas Fee

Chalet Jessica may not be in a ski-in, ski-out position, but she is in the very centre of the peaceful car free village. We looked at lots of property before settling on Jessica. Ski slopes are a 7 minute walk from the ski lifts, but the majority of the walk is flat, and your muscles will be gently warmed before you set off to break the downhill record on your first run...

On the way home in the afternoon you will pass the shops and it is easy to collect all your groceries, do some serious shopping, or just have a drink as you wander along the main thoroughfare. Other properties may be nearer the lifts, but often up a hill fit for a mountain goat. Others are much further out of the village in the Wildi area. You can leave your ski equipment at the foot of the nursery slopes in lockers (free service if you rent equipment).

Trust us….we looked at many locations before finding this one.

What makes this apartment unique

Jessica Sechs is our second home rather than a holiday let. She has a great location with wonderful views, a family suite, a study/office, Persian Gabbeh rug, 2 way log fire, BOSE/SONOS speakers and TV's throughout, hair dryers in all bathrooms, WiFi, Miele coffee machine and fully equipped kitchen.

Perfect luxury for a perfect Christmas!

I loved the interior design and architecture of this apartment, it was a special place to have a great Christmas with our family here. The views were beautiful from the dining table looking down on snowy Saas Fee. The owner was very easy to communicate with and the managers, based 2 mins away, were really easy to get hold of, helpful in arranging taxis and booking things for us. The property was spotless and the kitchen really well equipped. Handy to get a discount at the ski hire shop too. I would definitely recommend this chalet style apartment to a group wanting a special holiday with its quality touches, it was real luxury! We had Christmas dinner at the Waldhüs Bodmen in the woods, a 20 minute walk down a beautiful snowy woodland path (Narnia lamp posts all the way). They have camels, llama and room full of bunny rabbits, it was magical! The owner and staff were lovely too and put together a specific menu for us. A small practical point, its a good idea to book a ski locker at the bottom of the ski lifts or wherever you're taking kids for ski lessons so that you don't have to trudge around town carrying equipment around, taxis are few and far between. Cesar Sport at the Spielboden lift area (where all the lessons set off from) have plenty of lockers. All in all a great holiday!

Great location within walking distance to all of Saas Fee

Great location within walking distance to everything. We didn’t use an electric taxi once, not even when we arrived to haul our luggage to the condo. The view from the dining room windows of the base area and lower lifts makes one feel part of the resort. A well appointed and cozy home away from home.

Great Accommodation, Great Location

Jessica Sechs provides beautifully appointed and spacious accommodation for 8 or 10 people. The apartment is located in the centre of the village close to all the restaurants and bars and a short walk from the start of the ski area and lifts. Everything worked superbly from the pick-up at the parking area to the return to car. Great views of the mountains from the dining area. We have been to Saas-Fee a number of times, staying in both hotels and other apartments, Jeesica Sechs is the best, would definitely go back again.

Happy Days!

What a fabulous spot. March 2015 was our 4th family visit – an opportunity to enjoy once again this stunning apartment and to catch up with old friends. Over the years we have managed to celebrate several New Years and Birthdays plus Easter.The apartment is very well appointed and equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is always a pleasure to return to following a day on the slopes, particularly when the fire is on in the depth of winter! We have very much enjoyed just spending time in the comfort of Jessica.

Will we return for another holiday soon? Definitely!

Best of the Best

This is my third visit to this special place, and it just keeps getting better. Always with good company and making fond memories, for me it's a winter battery recharge with so much skiing still to explore. The apartment is of a very high standard and maintained so well with a very homely settled style and makes it feel like a home from home, I hope it does not become too popular as I would not want to stay anywhere else in Saas Fe. A fairy tale Christmas

We enjoyed our stay very much. We spent Christmas week at Jessica Sechs with our newborn baby as well as our parents and in laws.

The flat is beautiful, comfortable and very well-equipped. All the furniture and decoration has been chosen with great care and the result is a perfect mix between traditional alpine features and modern comfort. Moreover everything was spotlessly clean and well taken care of. We felt just like at home.

We were lucky to have a lot of snow for Christmas and spent many cozy evenings by the fireplace enjoying the magnificient views from the flat.

We would definitely stay at Jessica Sechs again and can only recommend it to anyone considering a holiday in Saas Fee.

Why choose Jessica Sechs?

Chalet Jessica is a luxury duplex apartment in the very centre of the peaceful car free village. We looked at lots of property before settling on Jessica. The ski lifts are a flat 7 minute walk through the village. You can leave your equipment and boots at the foot of the nursery slopes in a free ski room.

On the way home in the afternoon you will pass the shops so it is easy to collect all your groceries, do some serious shopping, or just have a drink as you wander along the main thoroughfare. You can leave your ski equipment at the foot of the nursery slopes in lockers (free service if you rent equipment).

A new gondola has replaced the Spielboden lift to provide shorter queues and faster journey times to the top of the mountain.

The Butchers and Bakers shops, along with the Pharmacy, UBS and Cesar Sport, are all very close to Chalet Jessica. The south end of the car park, the tourist office and bus terminal are all within a 3 minute walk.

Why choose Saas Fee?

Car free - Saas Fee is a sort of miniature Zermatt without the conspicuous consumption. Good snow is guaranteed, even late in the season. The altitude you spend most of your day at – between 2500m and 3500m is unrivalled in the Alps. Good for beginners and intermediates with a good attitude towards snowboarding. For non skiers/boarders, the Hannig lift provides access to the non-ski area which has many marked footpaths, and also the sledging run.

Beginners (39km):

The village nursery slopes provide some of the best terrain for learning in the Alps with a very gentle and wide slope to get used to the feeling of sliding around on snow. A wide but steeper neighbouring slope allows for a seamless transition to get beginners performing basic open turns at controlled speeds.

Intermediate skiing (75km):

Walking out the tunnel at the top of the Felskinn or Aplin Express lifts (3000m) will get you to some easy blues and gentle reds. A six man chair will loop you around 'Morenia' where the most suitable terrain lies.

Advanced skiing (39km):

Head straight to the top (3500m) by catching the train after Felskinn or Aplin Express and explore the glacier pistes where the best snow in the Alps can be found. DO NOT go off the pistes whilst you are on the glacier unless you are with a guide. The numerous itineraire (yellow marked off-piste) routes change all the time and are dependent on snow and weather conditions meaning you can tackle them one day after the other and have a totally different experience. You will likely find yourself repeating many of the main pistes during your week due to the 100km ski area. However the width of the pistes gives you the opportunity to explore new lines and re-think how you ski.

Expert (?km):

If you are interested in free-riding and find yourself thinking about challenging lines, Saas-Fee has some incredible off-piste terrain if you know where to find it. Your best bet is to get friendly with the ski instructors at aprés ski who will certainly point out the good spots.

Ski Schools:

ESKIMOS aims for the 'trendy, down with the kids' style whose ethos is based around having a good time on the hill whilst reaching your limits in your riding. The team is a mix of local Swiss and European instructors who all have well spoken English.

Optimum: The youngest of the 3 ski schools with an English team of instructors pushing for its recognition as a professional business providing up to date instruction directly from the British association of ski instructors.

Swiss Ski School: The 'red' ski school employs some of the village's most experienced instructors whose traditions still linger on. They excel at taking kid groups and hold large ceremonious events at the end of a week.

Golf: There is a 9 hole golf course and driving range on the Kalbermatten and Stafelwald nursery slopes.

The local Golf Club Matterhorn is on the way to Zermatt between Randa and Tasch. This 18 hole course which opened in 2004 is great fun and has some challenging holes. See http://www.golfclubmatterhorn.ch/

Further afield, there is another 18 hole course at Leuk and Crans Sur Sierre, host to the European Masters, is about an hour away by car; a great course with spectacular views of the Rhone valley.
