Quiet, authentic Barbadian village life surrounds the Villa. The tranquil Reeds Bay is perfect for swimming and relaxing and is just a 5 minutes walk away. Go North towards Speightstown and you will find beach bars, restaurants, water sports and swimming with turtles.

This spacious self contained accommodation has all you need to make that family holiday a most memorable one. Fully fitted kitchen with own washer, electric stove and granite counters. Large comfortable bedroom space with open balconies and en-suite bathrooms. Air conditioning is available in bedrooms for those warm nights. Separate house and beach towels are provided. Take advantage of the luxurious pool, lush garden, dine on a patio while the sun sets and feel the fresh air as the easterly winds blow. Parking is available for 4 cars at the front of the property.

Much of the furniture including beds and tables have been hand made by a local carpenter from Barbados mahogany. Ask property manager for rental car bookings. All fees to be paid to rental car company in local currency. We only introduce guests to rental car company. The property manager can arrange for a driver to take you around the island. Prices depend on distance/time. The driver can pick up and drop off anywhere by calling in advance. We only introduce guests to driver. Ask property manager for a private chef. Family Break

We have stayed in a few properties on this wonderful island but this is one of he best. The property is really well designed with loads of space inside and out. The pool area and outside dining area is wonderful for relaxing and for our twin grand children to splash around safely.The property is really well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay perfect.

The location of the property is ideal with only a five minute walk to some of the best beaches on the island and to the local fish market and bars. We did have a car to help explore the island but the local buses are frequent and cheap to use.

I would recommend eating at the Golden Anchor opposite the Folkstone Marine Park. The food is excellent and good value and there is generally something happening each evening.

The Seacat Restaurant also at Folkstone is a great place to eat.

For anyone not visiting Barbados before you must visit the North of the Island to view the spectacular Cliffs and then travel down the East Coast. Whilst Crane Beach is renowned try Foul Bay and Bottom Bay instead. For other trips the Tiami Catamaran trip and Harbour Lights are excellent.

If there is any cricket on at the Oval you must spend an afternoon there, an experience not to be missed.

Finally I must say thankyou to Hanifa who contacted us before our stay and arranged some shopping for us and also a delicious meal to be ready on our arrival.

If you are looking for a spacious fully equipped property in a perfect location I would recommend Bairds View Villa

Best Value Where It Counts

To say I'm picky is an understatement. However, I'm also pragmatic. This rental is 5 stars because where it counts, it is exactly on par with the amount spent.

First and foremost, Hanifa and Younis are professional and punctual. Fast, courteous responses and were very accommodating to us (8 people). The villa itself is beautiful. It is not PERFECT per se but it is worth every penny of it's moderate and fair price. If you want perfection, then you'll have to pay for it by renting out another villa at a much much higher mark up.

PROS:The location itself is ideal. The local beach (5 minute walk) is seaweed free and is quiet and calm. The neighbors are courteous and quiet. The house is clean and well equipped and well organized. The pool is perfect and really well maintained. The stove/fridge/microwave/washer are all standard and in good condition (i.e. not state of the art but well maintained). The price is perfect (not too high and not too low).

CONS: The only thing I would say that was inconvenient to people vacationing is there was no dryer (hang dry clothing) but I knew that going in (ideally just a nice to have). Lastly, there is no central AC which wouldn't normally be a problem because the cross winds are beautiful. However, there were no screens on the windows so at night some mosquitoes were an issue. But it's a Bajan thing across the board (no one has screens) so understood.

Book this villa and you will not be disappointed, guaranteed. I'd book it tomorrow if I could afford to go again.

Owner's Response: I appreciate your feedback which I read carefully. I will look to install a dryer for guest convenience in future as this is a popular request. The decision to install a central AC was carefully weighed against the constant breeze which I have found from other guest feedback to be a real advantage. For guest comfort during sleeping hours was a necessity so you can find air conditioning in all bedrooms. You will be welcomed enthusiastically on your future stays.

Convenient and Spacious Villa with a lovely pool

We had a very enjoyable time staying at this villa which was about a 2-3 minute walk to the beach, a local shop and bus stops.The villa was well equipped and the manager Hanifa and her family were very helpful. We had a couple of minor issues which were sorted out really quickly. Hanifa arranged for us to be picked up from the airport and her son stopped of at Massy's supermarket so we could pick up some food. Tea, coffee and sugar were provided. We had a great stay sometimes eating in and sometimes eating out - June even baked a cake for the local shop owner - there was no cake tins so June improvised and the cake was really nice. The local shops and stalls are generally cheaper than Massy. We did feedback that the towels had become a little rough and Hanifa said she would try to improve this - so again really pleased with the way the villa was managed. The balcony and veranda offered shade from the sun and the gardens were well maintained. There were mosquito nets on three of the beds but we did not see any mosquitoes or other biting insects at all. I would definitely like to go back and stay there again.

Beautiful villa in a great location

We had a great time at this villa. It is well equipt and in a great location, minutes to the beach and great fish market. The pool area is great and the gardens are private. The neighborhood is great with several restaurants in a walking distance.

Couple of things to keep in mind:

- when renting a car in Barbados opt for a smaller vehicle as the roads are very narrow. We had an SUV and it was challenging!

- it is somewhat a rural part of the island and there is a ton of chickens and roosters, so if you are a light sleeper it may be an issue as they are very loud starting at 5 am.

- LAST but important detail to know, the villa has a camera surveillance system and there is a screen in the kitchen where you can see live footage from all cameras. As mentioned before the garden/pool area is very private so it was quite uncomfortable for us to find out that there are 2 active cameras covering the pool and back porch that DO NOT show on the screen in the kitchen! That left a little bit of a bad taste. We spent most the time in that area and realized we have been recorded without our knowledge! Suggestion to the owner, it would be appropriate to inform guests about the existence of said surveillance.

Owner's Response: Hello Jacob Thank you for the 4-star review. The villa is situated in a village and yes you can expect to come in close proximity to wildlife. As for camera surveillance, we respect the privacy of our guests and at check-in the property manager should have shown you the cameras were disconnected for the rear porch and garden/pool area. I am sorry this didn't happen on this occassion. The fact that you couldn't see two of the cameras displayed on the screen is proof that they were disconnected and were not recording. I only allow the cameras for rear porch and garden/pool to record when the villa is empty. I will instruct my property manager to bring this to a guest's attention during check-in for future stays. Also, Hanifa will follow up during your stay if you have any concerns as we take the comfort of our guests very seriously. There is plenty of opportunity to raise your concerns with Hanifa during your stay and she is very responsive and helpful. I look forward to welcoming you again in future and I thank you for the constructive comments.
