little gem

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed in the cottage twice with my parents (from France) and daughter. It is a lovely little cottage - tiny but incredibly well organised (it makes you consider at all that badly used space at home!)- and the area is fantastic. We never tire of it. The cottage is particularly well situated because there is a lot to do around it with or without a car: there’s the harbour below .. and its coffee shop, the beach, the lovely walk to whitepark bay, to the rope bridge, it’s handy to the shop and pubs in the village, etc.

There is a lovely track along the cliffs that loops around. The cottage is just on the way and it makes for a very nice evening stroll.

Unfortunately this year every walk was punctuated by a shower.. which gave us magnificent rainbows (to my daughter's delight) but didn't allow us to live outside as much as we had last September (when we had been able to eat outside most days -lovely view of the white church, sea, sheep island and Rathlin from the table outside on the front lawn).

So lovely place... I would highly recommend it as long as nobody books when I want to go : )

Nathalie.

Great location

  • 4 of 5

As has been said the cottage is small but was fine for us, just two adults and a dog. Had everything we need. Was nice having the bit of garden to sit in when the weather was good and we ate outside at the table.

Great location, can walk to harbour and to excellent pub which again was dog friendly. Fantastic walks nearby.

Ideal location.

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this lovely little cottage. It's location is ideal for exploring the Antrim Coast and it's only ten minutes walk from the beautiful Ballintoy harbour. Right on the Ulster Coastal Walk too.

beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed as a family of 5 ( 2 adults and 3 small children). The cottage had everything we could have needed for the week and although it was tiny it was perfectly formed. We were very lucky with the weather and spent most days outside in the garden walking the short distance to the harbour or the park.

Charming country cottage

  • 5 of 5

Cosy little cottage in excellent loaction. Close to Giant's Causeway, rope bridge, harbour, beaches and great walks. Fullerton Arms good for meals and tiny local shop for homemade wheaten bread. Although it rained every day still had a great holiday with plenty to do.

Cosy, peaceful cottage in a lovely setting

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for three nights as a couple exploring the Causeway Coast and loved our time at this cottage. It is small, but was perfect for us and provided everything we needed. Information provided by the owners was comprehensive and the cottage was very easy to find. Spent our days out walking or exploring and our evenings cooking and relaxing either in the garden or in front of the log burner. Ballintoy Harbour is lovely and only a short walk away and the cottage is a great base for walking the Causeway Coast path - we did the section to Carrick-a-Rede (there and back) the first afternoon and then the longer walk to Giant's Causeway (with a bus back) the next day. On our way to the cottage we drove the Torr Head scenic road which is highly recommended. Such a beautiful part of the world. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

The Causeway coast is rich with natural beauty and good places to eat. Only a few minutes away from your traditional Irish cottage you find such wonders as the Giants Causeway, Whitepark Bay, Torr Head, Rathlin Island,

The White Rocks Portrush and the Bush river that feeds the famous Busmills Irish Whisky Distillery. Great resturants and traditional pub fare helps to replace the calories lost on the beautiful coast walks. The National Trust has protected many miles of beautiful walks along beaches that join cliff tops to headlands from where you can watch the flow and ebb of the great tides that sweep in an out of the Irish sea from the North Atlantic. Fishing is rich as is the sea bird life on Rathlin, reached by regular daily ferry crossings or with fast RIBs that offer tours of the area. Some of Ireland's most famous golf clubs such as The Royal Portrush are only a few minutes away from your base in Ballintoy. To the south the majestic 7 Glens of Antrim are only half an hour away.

Other Activities: coastal sea trips, nature trails.

Golf: Ballintoy is located between the world renowned Royal Portrush and Ballycastle Golf Club. The beautiful Bushfoot Golf Club is a few minutes drive. All three clubs boast North Atlantic beach fronts. There are some 7 Golf Clubs in the area.
