Hamilton Cove Condo on Catalina Island

Due to popular demand, OWNERS bought a more spacious condo (1469 square foot) for GUESTS requiring LARGE 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with OCEAN VIEWS. French doors lead to large terrace to soak in the SUNRISE and SUNSET. All units in HAMILTON COVE are not created equal but we strive to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible with amenities throughout the property available to all guests, including NEW SIX SEATER GOLF CART to use during your entire stay. The proximity of UNIT 4-13 is closer to POOL AREA and close to our other condo, UNIT 2-35 (see VRBO list no. 579841). Washer and Dryer inside the unit.

This CONDO is great for professionals looking for a getaway to soak up SUN and SEA. Also great to bring the family for quick vacation with tons of ISLAND activities for all ages.

Catalina Island is now in 3rd Level Water Conservation; we ask for our guests to please be mindful of their water use.

Enjoyed out stay very much

The condo was perfect for us. I would encourage the owner to attend to a few things to make it easier for visitors. The one shower needs to have the handle pulled toward you while turning it or it just dribbles out a bit of water. Took some time to figure that out. Also information how to use the DVD in the first bedroom. Many outlets only work on one of the two plug in options so it limited the use of any one outlet. All in all we enjoyed the unit very much. The beds were very comfortable and the unit was clean and everything was nice an clean. The contact lady on the island was very helpful and always willing to answer any questions we hade.

Combative Property Owner not interested in providing reasonable accomodations.

This condo is a lovely unit, located within the Hamilton Cove property and just north of Avalon on Catalina Island. I'm a native Californian and have been vacationing on Catalina Island for many years as the venue provides a truly relaxing environment away from the hustle/bustle of the mainland. Our recent vacation on the island was severely hampered by the Unit's lack of hot water during the entire duration of our 4 day stay. Lack of hot water renders this domicile uninhabitable by California RE law, but what is most disturbing is the Property Owner's decision NOT to restore the condo to an inhabitable condition. His awareness of this condition and election not to make the necessary repairs to accommodate my family is unacceptable. His unreasonable position on this issue subsequent to our complaints is not compatible with VRBO standards of quality and trust. I have been using VRBO to schedule my family's annual vacation to Catalina for the past 4 years and if other Catalina Island owners operated with such callous disregard for customer relations'...I'd be spending my future vacation budget elsewhere.

As a consumer, the only leverage you have in the hospitality space is your capital expenditures and subsequent rentals of this owner's condo only encourages him to continue his failed style of customer service, which tarnishes the VRBO brand. I would STRONGLY advise others to rent elsewhere.

Owner's Response: We, once again, apologize for the inconvenience of not having hot water during your stay. However, we do have an onsite property manager that was not made aware of the situation until the very last day of your stay. The issue was not brought to our attention until we reached out to you about the trespassing and confrontation with Hamilton Cove's security during your stay. We do recommend that in future stays your reach out to your hosts as many are not on site and are not aware of anything until its brought to our attention. We also manage a neighboring unit that could have been offered to you while we fixed the water heater and hot water was once again available. We strive to make our guests’ stay as great as possible. Our unit has had remarkable reviews and our staff is always very responsive. We wish you good luck in your future stays with VRBO. We are not taking this as an honest review of our unit as you had threatened the owner about a bad review if you were not refunded your stay. A water heater can malfunction on anybody at any given time without notice, but we would have fixed it as soon as possible.

came to catalina with my husband 2 sons and 1 friend. the place is beautiful! the pictures online do not do it justice! triple porch- views everywhere- great kitchen with lots of utensils and great furniture! the bedding is brand new. the layout is perfect- lots of privacy. the golf cart on property is great and saves a lot of money in rentals or taxis. tom and chela were great- i highly recommend and want to return asap!

Beautiful, very spacious unit with nice decor; it was perfect for a family with two teenage children. Everything about it is very comfortable, including having a washer and dryer in unit. It has a nice view and large balcony. The fact that it is a bit lower makes it a little easier to access. Hamilton Cove has a lot of stairs!!! The golf cart is very new. We would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for providing a beautiful VRBO. Wonderful location. Beautiful place with all the amenities

that are conceivable plus more. Beds were very comfortable. We asked for a propane tank and it was

delivered within 2 hours. Service was just great. The golf cart was a perfect size and ran very well.

No problems with anything at all. We enjoyed all the games that were in a closet very accessible.

The kitchen had more than is expected for a VRBO. The knives were extraordinary. Well equipped all around.

The view was extraordinary. We will definitely come back again. Would be nice to have more TV stations.

Clean, spacious condo with amazing views and amenities

Our family stayed here during a recent trip to Catalina. Hamilton Cove is located well outside of downtown Avalon, but it's an easy golf cart ride back and forth. The Hamilton Cove community is beautiful and feels very Mediterranean, with plenty of amenities such as pools, croquet, a beach, etc. The condo was very spacious, with more than enough room for the four of us. Everything was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean upon our arrival. The beds were comfortable, and every room had access to the amazing (and spacious) balcony overlooking the water. The in-unit washer and dryer were also very helpful during our stay. Overall, we had an amazing time staying here and would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone planning a visit to Catalina. We hope to be back soon!
