Perfect True 2 BR in the heart of the exciting East Village

Bedrooms 2
Space 550 sq ft
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Amazing 2 BR blocks away from everything in NYC!

This amazing and beautiful true 2BR in a perfect location can easily accommodate up to 4 people. Far better than a tiny hotel room in the NYC at a fraction of the cost.

The gorgeous apartment is located in the historic East Village in a wonderful “pre-war” building. Know for it's energy and nightlife, this area is overwhelmed with restaurants, shopping and sights. You will be staying a few blocks from Soho (Best Shopping), the Union Square (Best Restaurants) and the Lower East Side (Best Nightlife) in New York City. You are a 25 Min subway or 15 cab ride from Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 5th Avenue, Central Park, The Apple Store, FAO Schwarz, New York's Museums, Broadway shows, Children's Zoo and other attractions. Buses are only one block in any direction and Subway trains are a short 6 blocks away (about a 6 minute walk).

With that being said, I challenge you to go to Ninth Street Espresso, because it's the best in the city. Additionally, there are several small local markets for supplies are two blocks away and a Whole Foods 10 blocks to round out all your shopping needs. The local Pharmacy is two blocks away and parking is abundant in the area and generally costs about $35 per day.

****The apartment will be professionally cleaned upon your arrival.

The apartment was small but ideal for two people . We didn't spend that much time in it anyway . It was in an ideal location , near to the metro and many bars and restaurants. Had a fantastic time in New York and would recommend this apartment .

Amazing Stay in the East Village

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Jake's apartment in the east village. We brought our daughter with us to show her NYC for the first time. We've been to New York four other times in the past 10 years and this was by far our favorite stay.

The apartment was clean, enjoyed having a place to eat breakfast in the mornings, WiFi was lightning fast, beds were very comfy, bedding was in great shape, the kitchen was amply furnished, very hot showers and everything else was great. I read other reviews about the flaws in the appearance and if you really want to nit pick, then you can pick anything apart. I also read it was loud at night and for those people, try staying in a non-residential neighborhood and you'll hear how bad NYC can really be. This apartment was relatively quite compared to other neighborhoods in the city. Also, Jake supplied white noise machines in case it was too loud outside and those were a nice touch. We didn't use them, but I thought that was considerate for other people. Key pick up was super easy and we got the instructions 5 days in advance. We had a really late flight out so we dropped our bags at the key rental place upon returning the keys and basically had a full worry free day in NYC.

The neighborhood is the real crown jewel in this deal. It's hard to find this nice of a two bedroom for this price in NYC. We fell in love with the East Village and walked 5 minutes to a different amazing restaurant every night. We walked 2 minutes to Tompkins square park and since we had fantastic weather, so we got to spend a little time in a beautiful park in the middle of that metropolis. There are just so many little things in this area that it's hard to list, but we thoroughly loved it.

Again, Jake was great even though we never met him, but this apartment was steal for the price and more than we needed. I would highly recommend this vacation rental and will try to stay here again when we come back. :-)

Fantastic Apartment in a perfect neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Jake was amazing and he communicated with us just fine. It was about a 7-10 minute walk to the subway, but we found so much to do in the east village that we spent most of our stay in the neighborhood. When we did venture out to see sites, Rockefeller Center and the Natural History Museum, they were about 25-30 minutes away or a 10-15 minute uber ride.

It was a pretty sweet place if you consider the neighborhood and the price for a two bedroom in New York City. The place could use a little touch up on paint, but for the most part it was exactly what we needed and we had a blast.

The beds were very comfy and the shower never ran out of water. So to sum it all up, we loved this apartment! Jake thanks for your help and we will be back!

Very Basic Apartment

  • 3 of 5

Apt is smaller than photos give the impression.

It was missing washcloths, hand towels and dish towels. After I purchased some, Jake did offer to reimburse, which I refused.

Refrigerator leaks water into bottom compartment

Bathroom sink is plugged and drain very slowly

Beds are soft.

Windows with air conditioning units don’t block any sounds, so very noisy... earplugs are a must!

Apart is rundown (paint pealing, cabinets are old and rundown) and needs some real attention.

Jake didn’t send me any information until 36 hours prior to arrival, so very stressful.. I had to contact VRBO to get a response. He profusely apologized. VRBO would not offer me any resolution until the time and date of arrival. If no response from owner, I would have had to arrive in NYC and find a new apartment at the last moment only!

On the positive, Jake allowed us to checkin early and check out late.

After initial poor communications, Jake responded within a few minutes to up to a 6 hours.

WiFi is excellent!

Location is good but with no charm and 10 minutes away by foot from any metro.

Would I returned to this apartment? The answer is no.

This East Village rental was very nicely furnished and very clean. Comfortable furniture and everything was just as advertised. Jake was a perfect host and made everything easy for us. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you.

Could use a serious coat of paint! Owner could spring for a coat of paint, dingy finger prints everywhere on white walls!!!

bedside table with a lamp would be nice.

Apt is noisy at it is on the corner of a fairly busy intersection, not a major intersection..

Key pick up is an added expense and a potential hassle.

Jake responded promptly to any question and or need.

Again, OK for the price...

Owner's Response: Kathy I'm disappointed in the review, but I understand some of the points you make. I don't think it justifies a three star review, but okay. It's in a very residential neighborhood and as you stated it's not a major intersection, that's just New York City noise and it doesn't get any better the closer you get to Times Square and I promise for this low rate, the price does not get better as well. I don't understand the finger prints, but my cleaning lady and I will try to find out where those are in the apartment. Most guests are totally fine with the key pick up being 5-7 mins from the apartment and they usually love the ability to check in bags and stay late for later flights out of town. I think that service is amazing and I get a ton of private compliments on them. Thank you for saying I was attentive as I do try to help in anyway that I can. I do travel a lot and I out of town, but I try to respond and resolve issues as easily and fast as possible. Again, I'm sorry you weren't a bigger fan of the apartment in this review because that was not how it seemed during your stay. You seemed very excited and happy about it when you were there, so I'm a little confused, but I will strive to improve my guests experience. Thank you for your review. -Jake
