This amazing and beautiful true 2BR in a perfect location can easily accommodate up to 4 people. Far better than a tiny hotel room in the NYC at a fraction of the cost.
The gorgeous apartment is located in the historic East Village in a wonderful “pre-war” building. Know for it's energy and nightlife, this area is overwhelmed with restaurants, shopping and sights. You will be staying a few blocks from Soho (Best Shopping), the Union Square (Best Restaurants) and the Lower East Side (Best Nightlife) in New York City. You are a 25 Min subway or 15 cab ride from Rockefeller Center, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 5th Avenue, Central Park, The Apple Store, FAO Schwarz, New York's Museums, Broadway shows, Children's Zoo and other attractions. Buses are only one block in any direction and Subway trains are a short 6 blocks away (about a 6 minute walk).

The apartment is also close to many excellent family friendly restaurants as well as a Starbucks two blocks away! With that being said, I challenge you to go to Ninth Street Espresso, because it's the best in the city. Additionally, there are several small local markets for supplies are two blocks away and a Whole Foods 10 blocks to round out all your shopping needs. The local Pharmacy is two blocks away and parking is abundant in the area and generally costs about $35 per day.
****The apartment will be professionally cleaned upon your arrival.
Apt is smaller than photos give the impression.
It was missing washcloths, hand towels and dish towels. After I purchased some, Jake did offer to reimburse, which I refused.
Refrigerator leaks water into bottom compartment
Bathroom sink is plugged and drain very slowly
Beds are soft.
Windows with air conditioning units don’t block any sounds, so very noisy... earplugs are a must!
Apart is rundown (paint pealing, cabinets are old and rundown) and needs some real attention.
Jake didn’t send me any information until 36 hours prior to arrival, so very stressful.. I had to contact VRBO to get a response. He profusely apologized. VRBO would not offer me any resolution until the time and date of arrival. If no response from owner, I would have had to arrive in NYC and find a new apartment at the last moment only!
On the positive, Jake allowed us to checkin early and check out late.
After initial poor communications, Jake responded within a few minutes to up to a 6 hours.
WiFi is excellent!
Location is good but with no charm and 10 minutes away by foot from any metro.
Would I returned to this apartment? The answer is no.
This East Village rental was very nicely furnished and very clean. Comfortable furniture and everything was just as advertised. Jake was a perfect host and made everything easy for us. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you.
Could use a serious coat of paint! Owner could spring for a coat of paint, dingy finger prints everywhere on white walls!!!
bedside table with a lamp would be nice.
Apt is noisy at night...as it is on the corner of a fairly busy intersection, not a major intersection..
Key pick up is an added expense and a potential hassle.
Jake responded promptly to any question and or need.
Again, OK for the price...
The apartment is located near a lively area with a choice of restaurants. It’s on a corner so it’s a bit noisy and we needed to use the effective air con as it was quite humid with no opening windows. The two bedrooms are adequate for two couples and most importantly the beds had good mattresses and were really comfy. The apartment was clean and well equipped. But be aware that it is up 3 flights of stairs- quite far to lug suitcases.
This location led us to new and now favorite restaurant discoveries in the east village. Complete kitchen nice for a simple snack or enjoying leftovers.
Very clean, livable apartment. Jake responds to all questions in a timely manner. We loved walking through Tompkins Square Park every morning on our way to Cooper Square. It was a great week in NYC! Thanks Jake!
