* Comcast cable WiFi

You will have access to the complete private downstairs of our home and the entire deck is yours to enjoy a morning coffee, glass of wine or an outside meal.

We live upstairs with our dog and work from home most of the time, and we are available if needed to help with questions, or to give you advice on places to eat and visit. Text messaging is best for a quick response!

Our neighborhood is essentially a single-family-home, hilly cul-de-sac. It is great for walking, with good lighting and sidewalks, beautiful landscaped yards and views of lake and mountains along the way. You will see all different styles of houses, from early 1920’s to Modern, from middle class family homes to waterfront mansions.

There are a lot of dining options in Northeast Seattle and University Village, and there are several parks and outdoor nature areas nearby. We are just a short walk to the Laurelhurst Park, which has a round 1.2 mile loop trail walk, tennis courts, playground, sports fields, beautiful mature trees and Community Center; Union Bay Nature Area which has several trails with views of Lake Washington and Union Bay and great bird and possibly animal viewing; and the Yesler Swamp with boardwalks to explore a marshy area where birds and beavers live.

There is plenty of free, unmetered street parking by our house so having your own car is a good option. In addition, there are several buses nearby. However, please note that the neighborhood is quite hilly and walking to and from the bus stops tends to be up and down hills.

Uber or Lyft might be good options to the UW Husky Stadium Light Rail station which can take you further - to Downtown, International District or the airport.

Bikes with sun-powered electric assists are parked throughout the neighborhood.

You can drive to Downtown Seattle in about 10-20 minutes, depending on the traffic (unless it’s rush hour). A walk to Children’s Hospital is about 10 minutes and it’s only 10 minutes by car to the UW Medical Center or you can walk there in about 40 minutes and bike in 15 (via Union Bay Nature Area).

Such a wonderfully calm and peaceful place. The bed & bedding was so wonderful! Wish I could have stayed a few more days just to relax and enjoy the electric fireplace and overall ambience of the place.

Seattle Delight
This property is exactly as described, but there are a couple of standouts features worth mentioning. The house is immaculately clean, well appointed and extremely comfortable. But the best thing was the communication with the host and the clear effort to insure a positive experience. I'm quite confident we will be back in the future.

3 day visit to Seattle
I flew in for 3 nights to visit with my son who lives in Seattle. The apartment was so immaculate and had absolutely everything I needed. The host had special touches throughout the place so I felt very welcomed such as warm lighting, peaceful music playing and even a small Christmas tree lit up. I immediately felt so comfortable. The host reached out during my stay to see if I needed anything. The whole experience was very positive. I would highly recommend this apartment!

Why they chose this property

Laurelhurst is one of Seattle's most upscale single-family-homes neighborhoods and is conveniently close to everything Seattle has to offer, yet it is it's own world - it's not a pass-through neighborhood but more of a cul-de-sac. There are beautiful street views of Capitol and Queen Anne hills, Space Needle, Lake Washington, Union Bay, UW Stadium and University District, Cascades and Olympics mountains, gorgeous homes and gardens, and peaceful nature including a resident eagle nest. We love it for its convenience and walking opportunities - it's safe, well-lit, has sidewalks, only very light neighborhood traffic and no stoplights. It's also very hilly which offers great exercise options!
