About Tracy Roullier
Both of us are lifelong residents of Montana, having been born, raised and educated in the Big Sky State. We currently spend the spring, summer and early fall at Flathead Lake. We bought our place in 2012 while exploring Ecuador. We were looking for a new place to spend the cold Montana winters. We explored north and south while staying in Manta then driving to Salinas where we explored both north and south coastal towns. We knew immediately Salinas was where we wanted to spend our time. We prefer to live on the water wherever we can.

We bought this property after renting it for five days. It was perfect for us because it is so perfectly located. We knew at this point we wanted to spend our winter time in Salinas. One block off the Malecon was a deciding factor because it can get noisy on the Malecon in the holiday and high vacation season.
What makes this Condo unique
The minute we walked into the condo we felt at home. The views were incredible and the layout was spacious and very modern.The views from the living room, north balcony and the master bedroom are very serene. It is conveniently located - right across the street from an ATM, close to many eating establishments, two minutes from the beach, and close to the supermarket. All easy walking but if venturing out further, buses stop in front of the building and taxis are readily available if you need one.

Beautiful Home Comfortable Stay
As my first experience with home away, I am happy to report that it was very successful. Owner had provided us with contact information for a driver, Don, who met us at the GYE airport. He was prompt, friendly and very informative. Don was kind enough to contact property manager LUIS to meet us at our arrival. LUis provided the keys and documents with property rules and regulations. I suggest anyone staying here, making copies of passport ahead of time to provide them to property.The home was truly beautiful and amazing. Home was located near many eating establishments,our favorite was right accross the street CAFE JAZZ. Every morning my family and I enjoyed the view from the balconies. My daughter and mother shared the aft balcony and my hubby and I drank coffee every morning from The forward . Building was secure and had part time reception staff on duty at front desk. Taxis were plentiful and there was a very well stocked mini grocery store two blocks away. We purchased some snacks and drinks , not many groceries since the eating establishments were so well priced. There was direct TV in the sitting room. We are already looking and planning our second stay thereif it is available. We felt right at home and were very comfortable. There was bottled drinking water available which was a life saver! I only have a few suggestions... We didn't travel with an iron or blow dryer...you will want to bring one. ....we would of loved to enjoy the living room, but there was no television there. With a family of four, we had to take turns watching some t.v. As there are only two seats and one t.v. There. We ventured to the mall and saw prices of electronics, extremely high for t.v.s so maybe that is why there was only one. Other than that, it was perfect for us! We are planning our move to Ecuador in the future so this was a great trip in which we met many EXPATS....thank you !
The condo was excellent in every way.
The condo is very specious with an open plan kitchen/dinning room/living room. The front balcony had a nice view of the beach. The master suite had a very nice bathroom and plenty of space. The kitchen was well equipped. The media room featured a large Flat screen, which was perfect for watching movies at night. The owners were very accommodating; checking in with us our first day to make sure everything was okay.
There is a SuperMaxi a short distance from the condo, which had everything we needed. The beach and plenty of good restaurants are within a short walk. We will rent the condo again when we return to Salinas.

Quite A Gem
We flew into Guayaquil Airport and our pre arranged driver Don was waiting for us. He is familiar with Phoenix and took us right there. The trip took about 2 hours and cost us abouit $60...which is the going rate. The other transportation option we could have used would be to take a cab from the airport to the bus terminal for about $3 for the five-minute ride. Then we could have taken a direct CLP luxury bus to the Santa Elena Bus terminal just outside Salinas. That trip cost us $8.15 per person. At the terminal you have the option to take a taxi cab for about $5 for three people or take a local bus for under fifty cents per person. Either way, both will get you to the Phoenix building. At the time of this review, there is only one Banco Pacifico in Salinas. So just let the driver know you want to get off at the Banco Pacifico.
Once at Phoenix 10, we had the entire 10th floor to ourselves. We truly enjoyed this condo. It it close enough to the malecon for walks and people-watch, but away from the noise and crowds. There is a mini supermarket one block away. There are also numerous restaurants within a two to ten minute walk. Luv'n Oven, one of the better eateries in Salinas just one and a half blocks away next to Cocos. We have been looking for a summertime getaway for quite some time. And I do think we have found it in Salinas. With that said, if this unit is available between August and October, we won't hesitate to book it again.

Balcony # 1 has an awesome view of the Pacific Ocean, the marina, the beach, and partial view of the malecon.
Balcony # 2 has a view of the Pacific Ocean on the other side of the peninsular, the small airport (without the airport noise), and the older part of the city (no internet access from this balcony).
Cross ventilation keeps the condo very cool…no AC needed in Sept & Oct.

Buses and Taxis are always available between the hours of 5:00am and 10:00pm. Buses do not run after 10:00pm but taxis do.

This property was absolutely beautiful! The view was amazing, the home was immaculate. Fully stocked with anything you may need except groceries . Close to the beach, all kinds of restaurants and fun at every corner. Our group of 6 (3 couples) was very comfortable and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway. The owners Tracy and Bob were fabulous.
This 3 bedroom 4 bathroom luxury condo has nearly 3,000 square feet (280 meters sq) of modern living space. The unit is the entire 10th floor with viewing balconies on both the north and south oval ends. The north side has a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean, Salinas bay, the beach and the Salinas Yacht Club Marina. The south balcony offers views of Mar Bravo, Pacific Ocean and spectacular sunsets! Whale watching can be done from both balconies during that season.
This unit is located in the modern Phoenix building and is located one block off the Malecon offering superior security, quieter nights, and more privacy. The walls are decorated with local fine art and crafts. Furnishings are all of very good quality.
The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to feel at home, modern (full size) appliances, plenty of storage and granite counter tops. A breakfast bar adds additional seating on the dining room side. The spacious dining and living room are on the north end and lead out onto the balcony with access to the master bedroom. Windows and balcony doors have screens allowing a gentle breeze in and insects out. A social bath is located in the center of the unit, as well as the large laundry room with full size newer washer and dryer. The media room and the two other large bedrooms en suite are on the south end. Both bedrooms have access to the south balcony. Living/dining room, media room and all bedrooms have ceiling fans. All three bedrooms have AC units. A large desk in bedroom #3 can be used as your office.
The Master suite is quite large with a king size bed. Rounded windows reveal the beautiful view of the marina, beach and Salinas Bay. The large en-suite bathroom has a Jacuzzi jet shower and is separated by a large walk in closet. You will love waking up to the sunrise. The other two bedrooms are equipped with queen size beds and could easily be considered master bedrooms. They are large with bathrooms en suite.
The media room is equipped with a 50” LED HDTV by Samsung, Blu Ray DVD player, surround sound and CD players.
Off street parking is available in the buildings enclosed garage. Enclosed garages are not common in Ecuador.
Leave the Phoenix building, walk north one block, cross the Malecon and you are at the beach where you can rent an umbrella and chairs, play in the water or just read a book and soak up some sun. Vendors rotate continually so you can purchase food, coconuts, water, sodas, cold beer and more at very reasonable prices. Also within 200 meters of this building you will find a bank, Supermarket, small shops, several restaurants including the new and modern El Velero and the well known Cevichelandia, laundry facilities, beauty salons, and pharmacy.
The local buses stop in front of the building. You can walk everywhere on the Malecon but taxi service is easily found should you be unable or choose not to.
Guardians attend the entrance daily during the hours from 8am to 8pm Sunday to Thursday, 8am to 9pm Friday and 8am to 10pm Saturday. The building has great security features besides guards such as key-pad front door entry, coded elevator cards and video surveillance.
The condo comes with a dispenser for drinking water. It also has its own electric hot water tank so you won’t get the common cold showers here.
Nearby activities include jet skis, paddle boards, water skiing, boat tours, whale watching, and fishing excursions.
All utilities are included; these being electricity (up to $50 a month for rentals more than one month), water, gas, and fiber optic Internet (with WiFi). Direct TV is available on a pay as you go basis through Direct TV.
Owners will consider special rates for long term renters (two months +).
