About this property

Walk to the Farmer’s Market and Tanana Valley Fairgrounds

This warm and cozy log home features Alaskan art work, detailed hemp rope work, and a gas stove to enhance the ambience. It is within walking distance to the International Ice Carving Championships, Creamer's Field (a popular aurora viewing spot and migratory wildlife refuge and trail system), and the Tanana Valley Fairgrounds. It is also a short block to the bus stop, a mile from the railroad, and 6 miles to the airport.
Two huge picture windows face north, and lucky winter guests may watch the aurora from the comfort of the living room. This log home is located in a quiet neighborhood. It has two bedrooms with queen-size beds. The kitchen is well-stocked with baking and cooking utensils and has plenty of counter space to prepare meals. Coffee, tea, seasonings, and many other basic kitchen staples are in stock.
There is a counter style bar that seats two and the nearby dining table that seats six. The living area is graced with a gas fireplace that you can view the flames from all three sides. Though the bathroom is small, it boasts a huge Jacuzzi tub for two. There is a deck in the back yard with a gas grill and outdoor seating.

About the host

Host profile image
I am an elementary school teacher. I have lived in Alaska for over 40 years and still love it! I have been in the tourist business for over eighteen years and am happy to be a resource for your visit. In this photo, I am with Brent Sass the first year he won the Yukon Quest! The Yukon Quest rivals the more well-known Iditarod. It is also 1,000 mile dog sled race. The race is international as it goes from Fairbanks to Whitehorse. It starts in Fairbanks on even number years and ends here on odd numbered years. It is always starts the first weekend of February.

Why they chose this property

It is a cozy home built in 1960 and I enjoy the rustic retro vibe. I own several properties around town and this one is conveniently located to everything! One mile to the Alaska Railroad station and only 6 miles from the Fairbanks International Airport.
