Newly renovated 5 bedroom 3 bath home with a remote location within Duluth
About Matthew Evingson
I am an avid supporter of Duluth and all of the outdoor activities that can be enjoyed in this area.
Matthew Evingson purchased this House in 2012
Why Matthew Evingson chose Fond du Lac
For the immediate access to the wonderful outdoor activities while still having quick access to the greater Duluth area. It has quick access to some of the best Mtn biking, nordic skiing , hiking and fishing in the area. It is surrounded by a hilly and eroded landscape, beautifully mixed conifer and hardwood forest with minimal undergrowth surrounding a quiet community setting that is hard to believe is within the City limits of Duluth. Interestingly, it is difficult to know by looking at it today but the Fond du lac area is where Duluth began. It is the exact location of where the French explorer Daniel Greysolon Sieur DuLhut came upon the indigenous Native American community residing at the shores of the river now know as the St. Louis and the head waters of Lake Superior. We enjoyed our stay. Would suggest that the bedroom doors be WD40’d (they squeak terribly). An area rug in the living area would be nice with large groups to allow people to sit on the floor more comfortably.
Great place for a larger family or group!
The house was exactly as the pictures showed. It was very clean and neat. I loved having a code entry on the door as we did not have to deal with getting a key and since we had 8 adults staying there, it was nice that everyone could come and go as they pleased. The owner always responded promptly whenever I reached out to him. The five bedrooms and three baths made this a great place for our extended family to stay together. We cooked meals in the kitchen and used the living room for entertainment. There is also a 2nd sitting area on the 2nd floor which is nice if you want to be able to spread out. We really enjoyed our stay! Wouldn't change a thing!
Great Stay for Fishing Trip
The Trailhouse was a great property for my husband's chartered fishing trip. The house offered all the amenities of home and was a great place for all of us to gather after a great day of fishing. The only thing I noted was that sound carries in this house, once someone was up and moving or talking, they were easily heard throughout the house. I think some of this has to do with the fact there is no carpet (which makes sense in a VRBO). It wasn't a problem for us but something I noted. Overall, this is a great place to stay and if back in this area I would consider it again.
Great location walking distance to superior hiking trail trail head. Close to Duluth and Spirt Mountain
Location and configuration!
Our family group with three couples and two singles found this an excellent configuration. The upstairs seating area allowed for quieter space as needed. The location is very handy to hoking of various difficulties as well as biking. We would happily stay here again.
This property was just as you see on line. Very clean and spacious. It could use a couple more mirrors....maybe over the dressers. It has a big table great for us to play games as might. It was nice to have spices and other staples that you don't usually see in a rental. Mathew was very accommodating as well. We had a great time!
