First impression is very good.

The house is very nice and furnished very well. It needed some TLC in regards to cleaning. Windows were very dusty which made it difficult to open windows because of the amount of dust in the sills . Air condioner worked fine but we would have preferred fresh air as the vents looked like they had never been cleaned. The Blinds were dusty and broken so could not be opened. This was all going to be taken care of in April after we left. It was a very windy and Sandy area hence why the windows were very dirty. We provided plastic glasses for the pool area and measuring cups, spoons, dish cloths and knives and forks. There were 4 knives and forks! Also the can opener was broken so we replaced that. TV package sucks! But the theatre room is very nice and comfortable but you have to buy your own movies. It is a very good location for getting around To all locations because of the proximity to I-10 and also the airport and golf courses near by.

Great house and location!

The house is very spacious and it was very clean. There were a lot of flies in the kitchen area, I'm not sure why. The pool also was not clean when we first arrived but then a few guys came later and cleaned it. Overall, great stay here!

Bad First Impression..but ended well

First of all, the issues relating to the Jacuzzi and pool were accurate. I immediately notified Brian at which time he attempted to have me handle it myself directly with pool man. After making it very clear that was NOT my responsibility, he handled it and pool man was there the next day. One day lost without Jacuzzi. But, he did address it and it was handled. The other areas of concern were the master bath NOT having hot water. Huge deal for me, especially having a 3 year old, the main bathroom tub very very small. That was addressed, but I was explained its great for summer. Well considering there in December, not ideal. The house is very nice, a media throughout a little outdated. Cable only in living room and media room. Master bedroom only had dvd, but did not work. Media dvd a little outdated, kind of confusing to operate, way to many wires to deal with. But, once operable, very enjoyable. Outside lighting was not working, it limited our evening time, which was huge. My husband even attempted to change light bulb as suggested, but still did not work. Brian did compensate me and was eager to make what he could right. Minor concerns for me as I use rentals at least 2-3 xs a year. No baking pans, or many serving dishes, No trashbags stocked, minor but was much needed for my family. In no way was the stay horrible nor my vacation ruined. Just some things that were inconvenient to say the least. Home is very nice!!

Great location. Lovely home for four guests.

This is a great house for a family gathering. The media room, once we figured everything out, was a fun novelty for a holiday retreat. Though the weather was too cool for the pool or spa, they are a real plus. Great master bedroom and bath as well as a spacious second bedroom and bath. The owner went out of his way to ensure we were happy.

Not what we expected for a Thanksgiving get away.

BEWARE!!! Pool and spa heater does NOT work!

We rented this place on a last minute notice for the 2016 Thanksgiving holiday. It was agreed with the owner that we would have full use of the heated spa & only heat the pool on 1 day because the owner said "it's too expensive to heat the pool" (really!). After failing to turn on the equipment heater & noticing a "service system" light on, we resorted to calling the pool guy. He was able to temporarily "fix" it but the heater then turned off & was NEVER able to turn back on. It seems the pool and spa have not been kept up with their routine maintenance. So this was a MAJOR bummer for us!! The reason we rented a house with pool & spa was so that we could enjoy it while on vacation and not just watch it. No one wants to jump in 54 degree water in the fall/winter.

The house was clean but not properly cleaned. We had to sweep the front porch & back yard because it was full of leaves & dirt/dust. Not what you want to arrive to when you are on vacation.

I must say my petite 10 year old broke a dining room chair. Upon checking the rest of the chairs we found them to be flimsy & decided not to use them the rest of the time. We were charged $100 for the broken chair, fair enough, but when I text the owner about being entitled to some money back for the broken/malfunctioning pool & spa heater, he never responded to my text.

So why rent a house with pool and spa in the winter/fall if you can't enjoy them? Doesn't make sense, right?

Owner's Response: I have been using VRBO since 2010 and over 100 groups have stayed on my property. I never got any complains before. This is the first time that I have to deal with a situation like this. Nancy called me last minute to request for the stay during the Thanksgiving weekend. First, I had to arrange for their picking up the keys from my cleaning lady ( on Thanksgiving day). Nancy asked me about using the pool and I told her that heating the pool is too expensive in winter because it will take 6-8 hrs heating from 50s to 75-80 ( people who have pool in the desert area and know what am I talking about). And I told them they were welcome to use the spa instead. I also arranged my service guy to stop by and turn the spa on for them (he did it on Friday). After Nancy checked out, my cleaning lady texted me with a photo showing one of my dining room chair was totally broken. I spent $1800 on the dinning table set (made in Italy) from one of the modern furniture stores in 2010. It came with 4 chairs and a glass top table. Enclosed the broken chair photo as below. I charged $100 for the broken chair and that's probably why Nancy wrote this review. i would like to let Nancy know that it'is fair for me to impose the additional charge as you damaged the furniture while you stayed. Also we agreed on not using the pool before the rent agreement was settled.
