The villa is only 10 minutes pleasant walk to Uzumlu village centre where you will find a number of grocery shops for your everyday needs.
Passionate about Turkey we bought our property 10 years ago and even got married there in 2012 (see about you photo).
Clare Hadley purchased this villa in 2006
Looking to get away from it all this property is for you. Just a short walk from the village centre but enjoying the peace and quiet of the countryside.
'Very well equipped Villa in a peaceful, friendly Village. Car useful and only 20min drive from Fethiya. Ideal for relaxing holiday and would recommend Villa. Owners very helpful with arrangements and will seriously consider going back '
'Excellent good size and all facilities Really enjoyed the stay'
'We really spent a wonderful holiday at Vine Villa, relaxing in the cool water of the swimming-pool. The place is very hot in summer, but not wet at all since located in the mountain. Thanks to the AC in all bedrooms, the nights were peaceful... Uzumlu is a very quiet village, not far from the busy coast, with plenty of things to do, such as a boat trip around the 12 islands, which I recommend to future villa renters.'
'Our family of 7 stayed at Vine Villa in June 2006. We were a little concerned regarding the seeming isolation of the resort, but on arrival we fell in love with it. Uzumlu is a fantastic area of natural beauty the scenery takes your breath away on a daily basis
We have just come back from a fab 2 weeks stay at vine villa. It is located in a lovely village with stunning scenery. Very peaceful surroundings and was everything as described. Very clean and well maintained by the manager and his wife who are very helpful as was the owner with help and advice prior to our holiday.
Some lovely restaurants in the village as well as plenty of choice in Fethiye or Calais. We loved the beach at Olu Deniz and Patara which is worth the drive. Saklikent gorge is wonderful and a boat trip around the islands is a must.
We would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful relaxed holiday.
My friend and I absolutely loved the villa which was roughly a ten minute walk into the main village of Uzumlu. The villa was very spacious and comfortable and felt like home. A great place to relax. If you are not driving, there is a regular dolmus (bus) that takes you into Fethiye (30 mins away), if you want more shops, restaurants etc. I would highly recomend this villa and Uzumlu if you are looking for a quiet holiday away from it all.
Fabulous home from home villa with all that you need to make your family holiday complete. Set in a quite secluded spot away from the hussle and bussle of life. Fab views, local friendly village with pubs, places to eat. You can catch the bus here into towns and for full days out. We like to hire and car and have the flexibility and independence to come and go as we please - we found some amazing beaches and other sights. One of the highlights if our visit was the Dalyan Mud Bath and Turtle Watching trip, another was hiring a boat and swimming out at sea in the Kalkan..... We wouldn't hesitate to go back - we discovered so much, but left feeling that there was so much more to discover next time we went, so, we would definitely recommend :-)
This was our third trip to the Lycian Coast, and specifically to the unspoilt and traditional village of Uzumlu. We chose Vine Villa on this occasion as there were just five of us staying together, and we are very glad we did. Beautifully appointed, with stunning views and modern, welcoming accommodation. Whilst undoubtedly secluded it was near enough to all the amenities for the young (and the young-at heart!) to simply walk into the village for provisions and a good selection of restaurants and bars, plus the weekly market and traditional street sellers.
The pool was superbly maintained on a daily basis by the English-speaking manager, Senay. She was quiet and unobtrusive but very friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to help. A delight to have on hand.
The various terraces and balconies around the property offer a great balance between sun and shade throught the course of the day, meaning that you can enjoy the sun all day round if you want, or can take a break and sit somewhere cooler with a drink if the heat is getting to you! And there are some spectacular sunsets to be seen from the balcony overlooking the pool off bedroom two.
Alfresco dining is certainly the order of the day and the covered terrace adjacent to the pool is perfect for this, as is the area beside the brick-built barbeque.
We will definitely look to be back!!
The Kinch Family
Villa of excellent specification and modern facilities.Good space and open layout.Immaculate, clean and fresh and all utilities available.
Down an off road track (need a torch-provided) but lovely and peaceful.(heels not recommended :*)
Locals (when you do see them) are friendly.A 5 min walk to the road ,to go uphill through the village (10 min) where you can walk up to a couple of local bars and eating houses.I was surprised how many English were there(wine house)and a few goods night were had by us all.(local red wine nice)
The villa was daily maintained outside and pool cleaned, local wildlife inc terrapins wandering the garden(they like cucumber) birds sang happily.
Privacy is good and neighbours very polite with a wave but keep to themselves.
The buses(dolmus)can be caught up the hill (10min max)by the Mosque but can be flagged down(bus timetable can be obtained from 2nd shop on the RHS on the hill) for trips into Fethiye and return times.-Please note the drop off point in Fethiye is 5 min away from the return trip, returns go from the bus stn only.
Trips to Fethiye is 20-30 min on bus and 45 to Ol Deniz -No big deal and taxi's are cheap too and available nr Fethiye harbour.
We hired a car and got used to roads fairly quickly, though did miss the odd turn.Driving not as bad as it looks as roads are wide and people move over -beep when overtaking and traffic light's are mainly adhered too.
A good overall experience if not wanting the hustle+bustle of a commercial bright light town. Not far away from most things a good place to slow down and switch off.
Recommended for a couple who want some peace and some easy evenings.
Tip-take some music/dvd's or a 3.5-3.5 jack for aux plug into stereo for ipod.
This was our first visit to Turkey and we absolutely loved it. The villa was lovely, just like home from home (only more spacious). It was so comfortable and within a stones throw from the nearby village. (We recommend the Uzum Ham restaurant for value and close proximity). We hired a car (much needed) and visited Calis, Fethiye, Olu Deniz and Hisaronu. All were wonderful. We really could not fault any of it - fantastic. There was plenty to do and we could have stayed much longer than a week. We would also like to thank the caretakers of the property for being so helpful. We loved our time at the villa and would definitely come again - hopefully for much longer next time.
Nestles 500 metres above sea level on a fertile plateau surrounded by imposing mountain ranges. The beauty of the setting and the charm of the village have started to attract holidaymakers and sightseers in recent years, but Uzumlu remains very much a proper working village, with the local community relying on agriculture and traditional crafts as its sources of income. The village’s name translates as “with grapes”, and vines producing an abundant variety of grapes are much in evidence. Fields of cotton, sesame, wheat, barley and summer vegetables surround the village. On the lower slopes of the mountains pomegranates, almonds, pears and olives are grown. The heart of the village is its square bordered by a handful shops, a post office, a mosque and a large plane tree, as well as the all-important tea house. Calis Beach is a 20 minute drive away where there is an abundance of restaurants and an amazing sunset promenade. Olu Deniz beach Turkeys most famous beach is a 40 minute drive.
