At Rum Point, you can snorkel the crystal-clear shallows, eat Surf & Turf on the beach, sip a freshly stirred cocktail (rum-based, of course!), rent a Waverunner, charter a sailboat excursion and more. Then, return to your accommodations to relax in well-appointed style. Rum Sands is part of an intimate 3-cottage complex on Sand Point Cove, and its coastal-chic interior makes it stand out.

A screened in lanai overlooks the sandy cove and its lush tropical landscaping, with a twirling ceiling fan to stir the cool breeze. Two Adirondack chairs just outside the lanai encourage you to take a seat to watch the sunrise over the cove. You can also explore the area with the double kayak Rum Sands offers to guests or you can rent a bicycle or boat for more adventure.

Rum Sands is located in Cayman Kai/Rum Point, a predominantly residential area, located on the quiet northern shore of Grand Cayman. We recommend renting a car as Rum Sands is about a 45 minute, scenic drive from the airport.

Pick up some groceries at the nearby store in Northside, just a short drive away, and make good use of the fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and the adjacent dining table. Beautifully appointed property

This cottage was even better than we expected. It was a bit hard to find the first time, but it was a great location. It was right across the street from the beach, and just steps away from the bioluminescent bay. The cottage was so charming! It had a fully stocked kitchen (cooking supplies, not food) and even had water bottles in the fridge. The bed and pillows were comfortable. There were plenty of towels, including beach towels. There was also bug spray and sunscreen! There were 2 enclosed porches, which was unexpected, plus sunchairs you can take to the beach, and a cooler. We were very comfortable and happy there. The only tough thing was that it is at least a 45 minute drive into George Town, more if there was traffic. Overall, we were very happy in this cottage. Thank you for a great experience!

Great location

The location of this property is amazing! There is a beach across the street where the snorkeling was fantastic…. Sea turtles, sting ray… parrot fish! We walked every morning through the beautiful neighborhood! A car is a must!! We had a bit of a hiccup with the checkin but it was resolved and the manger was responsive and everything worked out in the end.

Great Location in Rum Point

Right on the end of bioluminescent bay with a very short walk to Rum Point Beach. Having access to a double kayak was great to explore the bay during the day and at night to see the water turn blue while you paddle around. The water in the bay is very shallow, about 4 ft deep. Did not see anyone swimming in it, but kayaking and paddle boarding and deep enough for boats and jet skis to go in and out. Lots of outdoor furniture to enjoy a lazy day near the water. Quiet neighborhood, not a lot of traffic in this area. Well equipped home. Would definitely stay there again. Good communication with the host. Great area to spend a few days. Had good experiences at both the Rum Point and Kaibo restaurants. Note that there are only 2 restaurants in the immediate area so reservations are recommended. A 3rd one is about a 10-15 minute drive. Overall, a nice place to stay and one of the best locations for that area.

Amazing trip to Grand Cayman

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Rum Sands was a wonderful condo and suited our needs perfectly. It was very clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well equipped. We also had a cooler, snorkel gear, beach towels and much more available for our use. The location is across the street from the beach, restaurant and gift shop. The bioluminescent bay is in the backyard. A kayak was provided for our use and we went out at night into the bay. The bioluminescence is amazing and a MUST SEE.
