About Rika Dockery
I was bitten by the travel bug as a child and never recovered. I've visited all 50 states and so far have been to 42 countries on 4 continents. I LOVE meeting people from all over the world, and especially hosting them in the welcoming, charming town of Waterloo. My dad's side of the family has roots in this area
Rika Dockery purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Rika Dockery chose Waterloo
My dad, uncle and grandfather built this cabin in 1953 on the Wolf property. Across the yard is the timber frame chalet my dad added in 1997. I love this location!! Walk to town but close to the city. Our guests typically come to visit St. Louis and are pleasantly surprised by all Waterloo has to offer.
What makes this Cabin unique
If you "like" our social media page (Timberwolf, Waterloo IL) you will see links to area attractions. Small town, country living while near the city provides the best of both worlds.

Lovely and comfy cabin in a quiet area. The cabin had great amenities and was super clean. Love the pay it forward idea of leaving spices and other non perishables. Gracious host.
Beautiful relaxing cabin
Had a wonderful time and the cabin is absolutely lovely... Rika has added lots of extras to make the stay homey down to the comfy robes! Would definitely stay again:)
Wonderful surroundings, quiet, comfortable, well equipped, close to attractions, lots to do. I would highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful little home. Compact, comfortable and had everything we needed. They accepted our little dog and allowed us to include him on the trip with us. We all enjoyed walks into town. Lakeview Park near by, great place to walk the dogs, also have a dog park on the grounds. Close enough to St Louis, to explore that
area. Thanks dd
Great cabin. In a great location.
This cabin was perfect for two people heading from PA to the Southwest. Waterloo is a historic town with great parks for walking and restaurants for eating. The cabin has everything you need including a cold pack in the freezer for when I sprained my knee. We would definitely stay here again.
I'm so glad you were able to stop in Waterloo during your cross-country trip. Sorry to hear you hurt yourself - glad we had what you needed to have a great vacation. Visit again!
Nifty historical cabin. Nice kitchen. Tiny shower.
Quiet area, good for unwinding. Interior of cabin very dark, could use a skylight. Would've spent more time outside but mosquitoes were ferocious. Not cabin fault obviously, just a fact.
Glad you enjoyed your stay in our 1953 cabin. Yes, back then houses were built differenty but the cabin's historical nature is what many guests find so charming; We try to stock well and supply comfy robes/slippers for a great guest experience.
Annbriar and two other golf courses are minutes from house. Ball fields across street. Skate park less than 10 minute walk. 2 craft breweries and a wine bar in town, an easy walk. We provide a guest binder with brochures for area activities + menus for local restaurants.
