A self catering apartment in the heart of the Ski Welt area

Our fully equipped self catering apartment is situated in the heart of the Wilder Kaiser mountains at the foot of the Hohe Salve mountain in the centre of the pretty town of Hopfgarten. The apartment has 120 m² of accommodation making it the ideal property for a family or group of friends to enjoy their winter or summer holiday.

Our apartment is situated in the centre of Hopfgarten and is only a 500 m walk to the gondala station.

The apartment is furnished to a high standard throughout and has all the facilities required to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. It sleeps up to 8 people in 3 bedrooms and has 1 bathroom (with shower and bath) and a separate WC. There is a well equipped kitchen, large dining area, lounge and 3 bedrooms. A balcony leads from the lounge and one of the bedrooms. There is private underground parking and a separate ski storage room downstairs. There is also a small communal outdoor area.

5 Star Apartment!

We stayed in Hofgarten during January 2015. The snow conditions were fantastic after a slow start to the season.

Our choice of apartment proved to be excellent. It was extremely easy to make the arrangements for our chosen week thanks to great help from the owner, Michelle. She answered all our pre-travel questions and gave us very useful information with regard to flights and transfers. Hopfgarten is easily accessible from a number of airports.

The apartment was fantastic! The living/dining area was entirely open plan - great for families and groups of friends. Even the poor souls working in the kitchen can still be part of the après ski conversation! It's a big apartment with windows to three sides of the building. Compared to previous accommodation choices, we had a lot of space to relax and recover. The kitchen was well equipped and clean. The three bedrooms, bathroom and separate WC would be perfect for upto 8 people.

Our trip from Munich Airport was trouble free and the apartment was easy to locate. Underground parking meant that we weren't digging the car out of the snow on our departure day! We couldn't fault the location. Restaurants and supermarkets were literally just down the road (or up the hill). The whole town has a compact charming quality that is welcoming to visitors.

We decided to rent skis from Intersport and took advantage of ski and boot storage for €2.50 per night. This meant that the five minute walk from the apartment to the gondola station was even easier as we weren't wearing ski boots or carrying equipment. The staff in the shop were very helpful.

The restaurants on the mountains were cheaper than any we have found in Italy and France. The same applied in the village - prices seemed very fair compared to our previous holidays.

My only negative observation would echo a previous reviewer. The shop on the ground floor created noise from around 6:30am each morning. This wasn't a problem for us as we were mostly able to go back to sleep. It would have been more of a consideration had my children accompanied me on this trip or had we been light sleepers. The good news is that the bakery was open every morning for fresh cakes and bread!

All in all, it's a wonderful apartment in a brilliant location next to an extensive ski area. Austria was the cheapest country we have skied in and the people we met were genuinely helpful.

Great apartment in great location

Recently back from an 8 night stay in this property with 2 children aged 14 and 11. Plenty of space for us all and very well equipped but with more than enough room for our own things. Excellent location with all amenities very close by. No need to use the car really unless you want to go further afield. Plenty of bars and restaurants and very close to the gondola to the top of Hohe Salve which we'd strongly recommend as a 'must do'. Excellent Tyrolean evening at Salvena and only £5 per adult (children free). Would also strongly recommend the open-air bathing at Salvenaland, a pleasant stroll from Hopfgarten itself. Apartment owner very helpful pre-departure and all was as it should be on arrival.

Tip - the apartment is on the main street and directly above a bakery which is ideal in terms of amenities, but also meant there was a lot of street noise from very early in the morning. Earplugs would be a wise investment unless you're a very early riser!

We are still staying in this appartment right now and it is really great. It is big and just a few minutes walk to the gondel to bring us up in the mountains.The wheater is like we are here in the summer but it is still possible to ski a lot of kilometers.

My friends and I stayed here from 01st January 2010 for 6 nights.

We had high hopes for the apartment from what we'd seen on the webiste and upon arrival we were not dissapointed.

On the photos the living room and kitchen look huge - It's not a trick, it really is. Increadibly clean and very well maintained, we really felt at home. The sofa is in fact the most comfortable i've ever sat on. We were pretty dissapointed to be going home to our 'real' homes on the last day...

Location - fantastic. Less than a five minute walk to the gondola.

We've all said that if we were ever in Hopfgarten again, this would definatley be the place we'd stay. It was perfect.

Hopfgarten is situated between the major Austrian towns of Innsbruck and Salzburg. Both Innsbruck and Salzburg are beautiful cities which can be easily reached by car.

From Hopfgarten it is only 20 minutes drive to the popular ski resort of Kitzbuhel. Hopfgarten is part of the Ski Welt area which includes Soll, Brixen, Itter, Scheffau, Ellmau and Going. The resorts of Westendorf and Kelchsau are also included in the Ski-Welt lift pass. From Westendorf you can now ski easily to Kitzbuhel (very short bus link) from the new 'Ki-West' run.

The popular Swarovski Crystal Works are approximately 30 minutes drive away. In the summer Hopfgarten also has plenty to offer. With fabulous walks in the Tyrolean mountains, mountain biking, paragliding, fishing etc there is plenty for all the family to enjoy.
