Ideally situated on the luxurious West Coast of Barbados, Ridgecot House is close to superb restaurants and white coral sand beaches. The villa has been tastefully decorated with a blend of wooden Indonesian and Oriental furniture designed to maximise on tropical living with high ceilings, spacious rooms and a large airy terrace.
All three bedrooms have air-conditioning and ceiling fans, each with en-suite bathroom. Two bedrooms also have dressing rooms. The Master bedroom has a king sized four poster bed, the second boasts a fabulous hand-carved king sized bed, with the third having two single beds.
The spectacular Great Room has an air of colonial grace with polished oak floors and vaulted ceilings. French windows open up to a large terrace, ideal for al fresco dining around its large marble table. Steps from the terrace lead to the 24ft pool and tropical gardens.
Full membership of the Royal Pavilion Hotel Beach Club (a short 3 minute walk away) is provided complementary to all Ridgecot guests. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available here free of charge and range of watersports can be arranged by the ever-helpful Beach Club staff.
A flat screen 46' LCD TV and DVD player are provided at Ridgecot, together with free high speed 60mbs Wi-Fi.
Faultless service, beautiful property in a perfect location. Everything we needed for a perfect holiday.
Beach 3 mins walk - very friendly and accommodating beach staff.
Esther (maid) is very helpful, friendly and efficient.
Communication with HomeAway and the owners is very efficient.
We would strongly recommend this property.
Thankyou so much.

This is a special place.
The property itself is really excellent - it looks amazing, has plenty of room, with great facilities and the wonderful Esther who takes good care of you. It is an ideal home from home, and a luxurious base from which to explore this beautiful and varied island. The pool and sun loungers are perfect if you don't fancy the beach today.
And what a stunning beach! Walk across the road and through the grounds of the Fairmont Royal Pavilion and enjoy a quintessential Caribbean beach - palm trees, fine white sand and stunning blue water. Add in the beach club and bar and you could spend the day here. Good food, excellent rum punch, and great service from Kerry, Sherlock and the team, who are very friendly. I can recommend the 'Big Mabel' ride behind the speedboat, and you must, must swim with the turtles - it is amazing!
We ate at various places locally, and in Holetown and Speightstown, and never had a bad meal - invariably the blackened catch of the day was delicious.
It is well worth hiring a car for a couple of days - Barbara, the managing agent in Barbados arranged for ours to be dropped off and collected at the house. This will allow you to discover how varied the landscape on the island is - the rugged east coast is such a contrast from the calm west coast on which Ridgecot House is located, and Animal Flower cave on the very north of the island was spectacular. I would also recommend a trip to Hunte's Garden in the middle of the island, which is stunning.
Tina, the owner, was very helpful prior to our visit, giving us some great tips and promptly answering our questions. We have been home for a week and are already planning our next visit.
We stayed at Ridgecot for the second time over Xmas & New Year 2015/16, the recent improvements to the house only added to our wonderful holiday. The house is perfect & in a great location for the beach, Ju Ju's Beach Bar, Lonestar Restaurant, Holetown. Esther the housekeeper is invaluable looking after the five of us, nothing is too much trouble. We are looking forward to staying at this piece of paradise again hopefully soon. Thanks Tina & Tim.
We had simply had an amazing time at Ridgecot! Thank you to Tina for all your help both before & during our stay. We (family of 5 with 3 children aged 10, 8 & 4) thoroughly enjoyed the house and can't wait to come back!! In order to assist anyone who is thinking of booking, I comment further as follows:
House - 3 good sized bedrooms and ample "living room". Two of the bedrooms have double beds with en suite bathrooms. All our air conditioned. The living area has plenty of space with comfortable sofas, a good sized dining table and even a football table. Again air conditioned too. The kitchen is of a good size and has all modern appliances (oven, microwave, dishwasher, cooking utensils, good size fridge & freezer). We cooked on a few occasions and found everything we needed for a family meal. We were well looked after by Esther the housekeeper who kept the house spotlessly clean and made sure towels were in a ready supply.
Garden - lovely pool with a fantastic covered area where you can eat/relax. The swing at the front of the house was also an added bonus! Gardens were full of lovely trees/plants/flowers and well maintained.
Location - immediately opposite the Fairmont Royal Pavilion and about 5 minute drive from Holetown. Very easy to find and really convenient in terms of restaurants & things to do. Lone Star is a short stroll away as is JuJu's beach bar and Santi's. We did not hire a car but relied on the buses (there is stop almost outside the house in both directions). Holetown has a good supermarket plus dozens of good restaurants. Oh and an upmarket shopping mall - Limegrove (
Beach - as members of the beach club at the Fairmont, you get access to a brilliant stretch of the beach. Ryan and his gang will look after you. The Club has a small restaurant serving good food. Sun loungers are also provided. Ryan organised water skiing, Hobie Cat, turtle trips etc.
So - a fantastic holiday made all the better by a brilliant house. Thank you Tina.
We cannot recommend Ridgecot highly enough. The house is very private located behind its own set of electric gates but is only a 2 minute walk to the beach club at the Fairmont Royal Pavillion. Tina includes beach club passes which is worth its weight in gold . Where do I start with the house , we were met by Esther the housekeeper who gave us a fabulous welcome. She is a star. Nothing was an issue, she was friendly, informative and went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable . She even told us off one day for loading the dishwasher as she said she was there to make our holiday as relaxing as possible. She keeps the house spotless and tidy and provided clean bath and beach towels daily. I enjoyed our daily chats over a cup of tea. The grounds of the house and pool are well kept and the verandah is outstanding, a great place to eat your evening meal made possible by the fabulous kitchen. Dealing with Tina was professional and business like, nothing was a problem and every query I had was answered very promptly and in a friendly manner by Tina. I can recommend using Suzanne for the taxi transfer as recommended by Tina. She is reliable, friendly and informative. We feel we have been well looked after from the booking stage of the holiday right the way to drop off at the airport. Well done Tina you run a tight ship and have the most amazing housekeeper. We will be returning.
Just returned from a fabulous stay in this lovely home. It was our 13th visit to Barbados and Ridgecot was, by far, the best home we have rented. The location is perfect and the beach club use invaluable. The whole house is furnished comfortably and stylishly with everything you could possibly need. The newly refurbished kitchen is fully equipped. It was great to walk back from the beach and relax at the pool. The maid, Esther, is lovely and keeps the house immaculate. Thank you Tina - we will be back.
Ridgecot is situated on the West Coast of Barbados in the parish of St James. Holetown is 0.5 miles to the south, with banks, supermarket, a wide range of shops and some excellent restaurants (including Tides and The Beach House). The villa is just 200 yards away from one of Barbados' most beautiful stretches of white coral beach. There are no private beaches on the island so you are free to wander as far up and down the coastline as you wish.
Ridgecot guests have membership to the Fairmont Royal Pavilion Hotel's Beach Club, where sun loungers, umbrellas, changing facilities, showers, snack bar etc are available. The Beach Club is only a short 3 minute walk away. There is a charge of $Bds 50 each for loss of any Beach Club pass.
Ridgecot is located opposite the Fairmont Royal Pavilion, one of the best known and most luxurious hotels in the Caribbean. A range of facilities are available to you here, including shops, beauty salons, hairdresser and two excellent restaurants (try the afternoon tea!).
Next to Royal Pavilion is Juju's beach bar, a great place for casual dining and sunsets. Sun loungers are available.
A two minute walk to the north of Ridgecot is one of our favourite restaurants, Lone Star - a more fabulous setting would be difficult to find.
