A lot of potential, but not maintained well

I stayed here with my husband and 2 kids for 2 weeks. My first impression was that it's a bit sparse (not much furnishings and there were curtain rods everywhere but no curtains - there are blinds), then after we settled in, I noticed the living room rug was not clean (my baby was crawling and picked up some kind of popcorn that was under the couch and tried eating it)! So I found the vacuum cleaner and started cleaning the rug and first floor tile floor. I didn't want to spend my vacation cleaning this house and even paid a cleaning fee. The tile floor was so dirty that walking barefoot our feet were black, my babies knees in her pants were so dirty we had to throw away her pants. There aren't many dishes or anything in the cabinets. There is a toaster, rice maker, dishes and flatware for 6 people few pots for the stove top, NO bowls, bakeware or pans for the oven, we had to buy simple things like salt and pepper shakers. There are no chairs around the pool to sit at and the pool guys showed up to tell us the filter is broken and we had ho report and schedule service for that too. Upstairs we found that a toilet didn't work- needed new flapper, the washing machine shuts off mid cycle (push the door down on the right side and it will start back up). The master suite looked nice but one of the outlets near the floor by Windows looked like it had caught fire- it was burnt and there was a prong broken off in the outlet! None of the light switches worked and there was awkwardly lamps on the bath counters - probably since the electric was burnt out. The closets were dirty. We contacted the management company, holidale, about all of these issues but it took long for response and fixing. The electrician didn't come until Friday when we arrived Saturday. When showering in one of the upstairs guest room attached baths, water leaked through the ceiling to the lower bathroom. I notified the holidale rep that I was texting with but they ignored it and only replied about the electrical issue. The 2 car garage door doesn't work either... But holidale rep said go in the single car and manually open it from inside. We have stayed in 5 homeaway rentals now and this is by far the worst.., the house could be so great with better care. We won't be back. Hoping the owner either seeks a better management company or visits the house to see the issues. The neighbors are very friendly and the neighborhood is beautiful and safe.

I left bad review before due to a misunderstanding about my booking but owner was fair and honored our initial agreement. My family looks forward to our stay!
