Location perfect, if you need to be near Potsdamer Platz, apartment itself is good, but not great, customer service not very professional - they will charge you for any late arrival or delay, but their representative was late himself and I had to wait outside in quite bad weather conditions. WIFI did not work all period I was there (4 days) and the owner did not try to fix the problem, he even ignored my text messages about this. So - overall it's possible to stay there, but you can get much better options for that price in Berlin.
Great location, clean enough, modern, secure. Hot in late July, no A/C and not much airflow gained from opening windows. Sony Centre is beautiful but does stay awake late - we weren't bothered much by noise; but were by the amount of light coming into the room at night. When returning to Berlin, we won't rule this out but we will look at other options.
This is a great place in a great location. Close to most of the tourist sites. Like other reviewers, a second sitting chair would be nice. I think there is room in the bedroom for one. Also a microwave oven would be a good addition, but other apartments we have rented in Europe also did not have microwaves. Maybe they just aren't a European thing.
We should have realized that this would be a noisy location, so to some extent that's on us. Would be good to mention in the info. The place itself was nicely appointed, tho' I would have liked to have two comfortable chairs for relaxing. One of the main reasons we rent apartments on vacation is for the laundry facilities, but when we got there we were informed that the washer (not a dryer at all, btw) didn't spin properly. So we had to wring things out by had; doable but not what we paid for. I also think it would have been thoughtful to provide a few bars of soap for the shower, and also more pods for the coffee maker. Those things cost little but make a good impression.
I think Michael (owner) could have been more helpful/concerned about things we asked about. All that being said, the place was clean and looked nice.
My wife and I stayed in this apartment for 4 days in mid-May 2016. While we loved the location, in the heart of Berlin and with extremely convenient connections to trains, buses, etc as well as many nearby restaurants, we also experienced some significant inconveniences staying here.
On the positive side: The apartment is immaculate; the co-owner showed up right on time and brought us in, explained everything to us and gave us some tips about local grocery shops etc to pick up a few breakfast items. The apartment is very modern with clean lines, modern finishes and a small but fully equipped kitchen. We never heard any noise from neighbors, elevator, etc. Plenty of closet space for storage of suitcases, etc.
Unfortunately, the apartment is lacking in a couple of major ways and a couple of more minor inconveniences. First, there is no air conditioning, which would not be such a problem in May, except that the apartment is inside and overlooking the Sony Center, which never closes, and was full of noisy people on Friday and Saturday nights. We had to keep the windows open for air, but the noise was disturbing. The apartment was stuffy and keeping the windows closed really wasn't an option. I can't imagine what it would be like in the heat of August. Secondly, the apartment furnishings have been placed so that the (larger) living room accommodates a king size bed and what would normally be the bedroom contains a table and chairs -- no sofa or easy chair. It wasn't very comfortable for just hanging out in between touring around. The bathroom has very little shelf space --- no ability to put out toiletries, etc. The washer is a complete waste -- don't even bother using it. It's not working properly and doesn't spin the clothes enough so that they can be hung out -- if you use it they will be dripping wet and a big mess to deal with.
This place would be more comfortable in cooler weather, and would be ok if you're out and about 98% of the time and just want a place to crash. We like to head back to our hotel/condo room late afternoon after a day of touring around and hang out for a few hours before dinner... this place just wasn't right for us. But again, the location is awesome. Berlin is huge, and Potsdamer Platz is right in the center of the city, so that we truly appreciated.
The new and modern apartment was very comfortable and centrally located. Michael, the owner, was very timely in greeting us with the keys. Next time i visit Berlin I hope to stay in one of Michael's apartments.
