|Minimum Stay||5 nights|
This two storey villa is a delightful spacious and airy home which invites peaceful relaxation, but is minutes away from all the fun, activity and excitement that one could wish for, whether it is the many theme park attractions, golf courses, airboat rides or just a swim in the pool. But see the list below for some of the other things to see and do.
Our house is located on a quiet cul-de-sac in Lake Wilson Preserve, a quiet community of villas designed to be perfect vacation homes. The massive south-facing pool deck, with a beautiful blue in-ground pool and heated spa, backs onto preserved native woodland, making it one of the most desirable locations you could find. The sheltered exit from the house to the pool deck has a lovely eating area shaded from the sun, and a full bathroom for washing off after your swim.
The enormous master bedroom at the back of the house has a tiled walk-out balcony looking out onto the lush forest. The bed is queen-size, and the addition of a sofa makes a comfy reading nook at one end of the room. The full en-suite bathroom has an additional soaker-tub. Two other bedrooms and a full bathroom complete the upper floor. The fourth bedroom which is on the main floor has an adjacent full bathroom.
We are Rosalee and Russ, a couple of Canadians who live in Winnipeg and love the sun. Rosalee is an avid gardener at home and just keeps doing it when we are down south. Russ is a retired (sort of) teacher and business owner. We visit Lake Wilson twice a year to enjoy our house and check that everything is as it should be. Russ's hobby is gliding, so when the snow flies in Canada, Seminole Gliderport is only a half hour away from our villa.
Russell Flint purchased this villa in 2011
We learned about this property a year before it came on the market. It was on a quiet cul-de-sac with a lovely pool and spa, an enormous pool deck, and best of all the house backs onto old growth forest; no back-door neighbors except for the birds - sometimes an owl and occasionally an eagle. It was the right home for us, large and airy, with lots of space for visitors.
Besides being the right house for us, it is also close to so many places to go and things to do.
All the necessaries are close by (a five minute drive) - food stores, pharmacies, banks, restaurants etc. And of course the many theme parks, Disney, Universal, Sea World, Fantasy of Flight and more all within an easy drive. Golf courses are everywhere!
This home was even better than the photos! Our family of 5 stayed for a week and have found ourselves wishing we had several more weeks to stay. It has all the comforts of home, spacious everything, VERY clean, the quiet cul-de-sac spoiled us as well. We have rented many homes in the past and paid for pool heat and the pool was still freezing when we got there. In this home the pool was nice and warm upon arrival. It was so nice that the kids could get changed and jump on in! We found that the bathroom off the pool was quite nice to have also. The owners answered every question in a timely manner and were very easy to work with. Their managers, Ian and Coral, are top notch. Really enjoyed working with them as well. We also rented a grill for our stay which was nice since we like to grill out alot. There is a grocery store just 2 min. away and plenty of shopping within a 10 minutes drive in several directions. Although we didn't visit the parks it was a short drive to all of them. We did visit Disney Springs on 2 separate nights. There is free parking and free admission with alot of shops and restaurants to choose from. Highly recommend the T-Rex restaurant and the Lego store! It is a must for us every year. We are so glad we chose this home. Our only disappointment is that it is already booked during our vacation next year!
Great communication from Russ the owner, with fast response from booking. Beautiful home with every amenity you could need including pool & hot tub. Location was perfect providing peaceful surroundings of the preserve yet only 15/20 minute drive to attractions & restaurants. Management on standby and Ian was very efficient at solving any issues or questions we may have. Thoroughly recommend this property and will definitely be returning.
This house was great.. Dealing with Russ was awesome.. great guy.. contacts younat a timely manner. The managers of the house Ian and Coral were great.. Def would stay here again in this beautiful home!! 5 stars all around!!!!
We had a fantastic stay in this villa,it is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location is excellent we were able to get every where very easily but we liked the fact Lake Wilson Preserve is tucked away a little.Backing onto the nature reserve is also a bonus.
Publix supermarket is 5mins drive away which is very handy, also Dunkin donuts for a coffee and hot chocolate.
Russell is very easy to deal with and answered my numerous questions quickly!
Also a mention to Coral and Ian the managers who called round on our first morning to show us how to sort pool spa,A/C etc had never had this before and found them to be very helpful and knowledgeable.
We would highly recommend this villa.and will stay here again.
We have stayed in this house for the last two winters with next winter already booked. I would give this house an A+. It is clean and well cared for. This house is awesome, it has everything you need for a wonderful vacation or just a home away from home, all you need is your suitcase. It has a large pool deck with a covered area with dining table and great southern exposure for the sun seekers to sit around the pool! It also has a grill for cooking outside and entertaining. The open floor plan is amazing! We had company visit and stay for a week and the accommodations were excellent. This house is perfect for a large family or two families sharing the home for a Disney vaca! The house is in a perfect location. It is private, yet you are in a subdivision so you feel safe. It is located on a street where you can let the kids play outside without worry. If this house is available you should book it, we highly recommend it and you won't be disappointed. AWESOME HOUSE!!!
We had a thoroughly enjoyable 2 week stay at this home in Spring 2016.
It was perfect for us as a family of 4, though could easily accommodate more. The double height ceiling in the living area and open plan living, dining and kitchen really added a sense of space.
Highlights for us were the view from the rear of the home / pool deck of nature preserve. The pool deck also faces south, so we had the sun all day. We also enjoyed the balcony upstairs off the master bedroom. With no home behind ours, it felt nice and private.
Property managers looked after us very well, and easy to get around by car, with nearest shops and services about a mile away.
Here are a few of the things we have discovered and enjoyed:
In and around Orlando:
The Orlando Science Center with activities and events appealing to all ages; the Orlando Eye, a slowly revolving Ferris wheel, matching the London Eye and giving views of the city from 400 feet high; Gatorland a different kind of theme park with lots of informative demonstrations and displays; an evening stroll around Downtown Disney to see the talented buskers and just enjoy people watching (it’s free – at least until you discover all the tempting places you can spend your money ).
Also at Downtown Disney are two venues featuring Cirque de Soleil and The Blue Man show. Both are excellent entertainment and well worth seeing.
Within easy driving distance from Lake Wilson:
Fantasy of Flight has daily flying demonstrations of historic aircraft, a museum with a huge collection of aircraft, some in the process of being renovated, and also airplane rides. There are also many special events through the year involving racing old speed boats, car trials ,motor bikes and of course aircraft.
Airboat rides to take you gator spotting.
Winter Park where you can take an informative boat cruise through three lakes connected by old narrow logging canals; or just enjoy the wide selection of boutiques and eating places in this old town.
Drive east to the coast and the Kennedy Space Center. Take the tour, and expect to spend the day there.
Drive south to visit Bok Tower Gardens on the highest spot of land in Florida. You will find a unique Carillon Tower, with daily carillon concerts and pleasant walks around the beautiful park. There’s also a museum and a restaurant
Go west on the I-4 an hour and a half and you will be in Tampa/ St.Petersburg. Visit the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Pete which houses the largest collection of Dali’s work in the world. We were fascinated!
Don’t miss the pier!
