About Teodora Dimitrov

Hi there,

My husband Stoyan and I visited DC as tourists back in 2010 and ended up falling in love with the area and decided to move. Soon after moving, we purchased our row house, and are excited to have become VRBO hosts. We were both born in Bulgaria and would be happy to tell you more about our background and travels.

I am an avid salsa dancer, who goes out social dancing every week. Stoyan enjoys riding his motorcycle and playing soccer. We also spend quite a bit of time outdoors walking Bimmer, our Boston Terrier. We like to travel and take every opportunity to do just that.

We look forward to being your hosts!

~Great location~cleanliness~Helpful Owners!~

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I, along with our 3 4-legged kids stayed at this lovely place. Amazing location, close to the subway and bus for transportation and close to some of the great restaurants in the area. The place is very clean and the owners are so friendly and helpful with their restaurant recommendations and places to go to for sightseeing in the city!!! The only thing that this place is lacking is a "sink" to wash the dishes, rather than that... everything is wonderful! We will definitely consider staying at your place again!

Perfect spot for a weekend stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I really enjoyed this basement studio! We stayed during the long Thanksgiving weekend and found it perfect for us. The Petworth neighborhood has plenty of options for good food and drink if you want to try something outside of the standard DC areas. Metro = 15min walk, bus stop = 2 min walk, bike share = 10min walk. All transit is easy to access and easy to use to get around the entire city! The studio comes stocked with all bathroom necessities and equipped with a small kitchenette (microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, utensils, plates, cups). Yes! Organic was our go-to spot to pick up a few snacks/drinks to keep throughout the weekend. Safety should not be a concern for anyone considering this property. The studio door requires a keypad and is well-lit from the back alley. I saw some comments about the studio making a taller person feel cramped... I personally only think one might feel that way when showering since the ceiling is a bit slanted in there but that's it. Thank you Teodora and Stoyan for hosting us! We had so much exploring DC and having this place to call home for a few days!

Fantastic Place, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

This adorable private studio was a perfect place for us to stay for our one night in D.C. It's perfect location was close enough for us to be able to uber to the national mall and walk from there. Our host were excellent with timely communication and making sure we had everything we needed. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Great Pet Friendly Option With Access To All Of D.C.

  • 5 of 5

The pictures of the place are right on the money. My review is not meant to be negative but instead a full disclosure of the little things to prepare for that can make your stay 5 stars!

You have to find a place to park in the streets near the house. This can be easy or hard depending on the time of day and luck. But, be careful, if you park near a Stop Sign, D.C. law requires you to be 25 feet behind the Stop Sign. They will ticket you otherwise.

The AC works like a champ and is very quiet.

The Fridge, Microwave, Coffee Maker are very nice options but, there is not a sink near these amenities so you must use the sink in the bathroom for water. Bring a cooler or lots of bottled water if you want cold water to drink. Ice Cold water is the norm where we live but in the D.C. area ice seems limited or not as available. There is a small ice cube tray in the freezer.

The TV is very nice. But, you do not have cable. You do have a HD Antenna connection that pics up 10-15 English channels. If you are a techy/geek type person and loves Chromecast, bring that as an option to watch the other shows you like while winding down for the night.

The rental is a basement so, if you are taller than 6', it will be a bit cramped at times.

The entry in and out of the basement is secure with solid doors and cameras to monitor the area. Also has good lighting that is motion activated so that really helps if you arrive after sunset.

The house is Pet Friendly. Sherman Circle Park is only a 5 minute walk for your pets and felt very safe and was lit up at night.

The owners are very responisive to questions

The Petworth-Georgia Ave Metro Station is about a 20 minute walk. Once you arrive there you can access almost anything in D.C. you want to see. Train stops at the Capital, Smithsonian, White House area, Nationals Ballpark, airports, etc. You can also take the bus if desired and there are many stops near the rental. D.C's mass transit system is excellent and a time saver.

The intersection of Upshur and Georgia offers several good places to eat that you can walk to in 10 minutes and some deliver. Timber Pizza was delicious, so was Slim Diners, Petworth Citizen Library is a nice option for a drink or meal.

There is a recycling container available
