Our group of six thoroughly appreciated the beautiful HomeAway property we stayed in.

  • 5 of 5

Five of the six of us had never stayed in a HomeAway property before. I was the only one who had and was nervous about their response to the property, which I hadn't seen before. Well, it couldn't have been more beautiful, cleaner, or more thoughtfully equipped with items we needed, like knives for cutting vegetables, pots and pans for cooking, and hair dryers in the bathrooms. One couple in our group of 8 decided not to stay in Night Hawk with us, and they obviously regretted their decision when they saw our place. They paid more in town for a hotel room in what they regarded as being not charmingly old, but old and needing care. Thank you to the owners for our beautiful stay. It matched the impressively photos on the website so well.

Great Property in Taos

  • 5 of 5

We have used VRBO many times in different areas of the country and this was the best experience we have had so far. The house is beautiful and gave our family of 5 plenty of room to relax after spending our days exploring Taos and the surrounding area. The views from the house are spectacular...mountain views from all rooms. The house was also well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay as easy as possible. There is no doubt that if we vacation in Taos again we will try to book this property!

Better than the photos and description show

  • 5 of 5

We stayed about 5 nights in July. Our first impression was that the house was much better than the description and photos lead you to expect.

We found the house clean and apparently recently decorated with New Mexican art and colors. The main worry we had was the indication of no air conditioning since we were from Texas where air conditioning is a must. We found first that the very dry air made it a non-issue. But even then the house had small air conditioning equipment in the living area, and the recently added guest bedroom suite. In the former master bedroom there was a modern portable evaporative cooler in the room. Evaporative cooling is seldom used in Texas, but is common in the dry air of Taos. We never were uncomfortable in the 90 degree outdoor high temperatures - which was odd for us Texans where the humidity is much much higher. Nights were cool and nearly jacket weather during our stay.

The beds are comfortable, the kitchen large and complete and the seating in the living area was comfortable. One caution however. One of us was 90 years old with mobility issues, and another had lesser mobility issues. The gravel walk into the house was difficult for transporting luggage. Also, inside the house there are two steps down into the living area, and one step up into the guest suite. We managed well but if a person cannot take two steps down, mobility issues could present themselves. On the other hand, the dining, kitchen and the master bedroom are on one level.

We enjoyed seeing the lights of Taos from our higher elevation, and sitting in the morning and evening on the patio enjoying the quiet. This is a good star gazing location. We saw many rabbits which apparently live in a shrub area near the house.

This house is not within walking distance of Taos. However, the highways make it a quick trip to the north end or south end of Taos without traveling through the crowded and slow plaza traffic. It is just close enough, and just far enough away.

Communication with the owner and manager were good. We called one time from the house with a question and our call was returned promptly.

We can recommend this property and would stay again if our travels return us to the Taos area.

Great Stay! Even nicer than the pictures!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for spring break week 2016, and had a great time. The house was spacious, well appointed, and had a great view. While it was outside of Taos proper, we were able to get to either the north or south end of town without having to go through the plaza-area bottleneck, and it was a quick drive to Taos Ski Mountain. The kitchen was very large, and had everything we needed, with a large island and a separate dining area. There was plenty of wood for the two kivas, the split floorplan served our family of 5 well, and the large lot made for a serene visit. The owner was responsive via text and email, addressing our few questions very quickly to ensure we had a good stay. Would definitely consider renting for our next Taos trip.

The house is much better than described.

  • 5 of 5

Hello All, The house is beautiful in every room. All we clean and bright. The best part were the many windows facing Taos. The house sits on a bluff, with the other homes about 200 feet from this house. At night it is so relaxing to see the city lights of Taos from every window that faced Taos. We cooked all our meals, the kitchen was beautiful, and had all the tools needed. The property manager was very responsive with no delays even after we confirmed. It was a beautiful and relaxing stay. You should give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Thank you.
