Cliff and Suzanne have been married for 49 years, have a grown son, and wonderful grand-daughter. They both love animals, currently have 2 dogs, Nicky, and Frannie, and 1 cat, Mittens.
Both obtained graduate degrees from the University of TN. Cliff works as professor of business at a local community college, says it is his retirement job. Suzanne has had a varied career as a social worker and interior designer.
They have been welcoming guests into their home for 2 years and have met people from many countries in Europe, South America, and the Orient. It has been an incredibly fun journey and has changed our lives forever. Our interests have expanded, and we have been able to participate in some of our guests functions and activities.
We live on the property and are almost always available. We enjoy interacting with our guests, but also allow you as much privacy as you need. Some guests "pop in and out" of the main house regularly, and there are a few whom we have never seen.
Suzanne and Cliff Rockstead purchased this house in 2009
We had always lived in subdivisions and had built our "final house". After a few years and acquiring two dogs and a cat, we wanted more land for the pets, a place where the dogs could run "off-leash". (Suzanne also wanted a pool!) This was the perfect place, though we really did not want the pool house as additional upkeep. We love to walk to the lake with the dogs, and Mittens spends his days in the adjacent field looking for prey.
Suzanne loves to shop and daily "runs up" to Providence to pick up something.
The location is "unbelievable". Mount Juliet is growing rapidly and constantly building. We feel we live in the country with all the quiet benefits, yet can enjoy all the benefits of the city of Nashville. Besides living adjacent to 37 mile long Percy Priest Lake, we are minutes from Long Hunter State Park and Cedars of Lebanon State Park, which are great for hiking, picnics, and boating. Outdoor lovers can rent canoes, engage in nature day and night events, swim, play tennis, and horseback ride at the parks.
Clean cozy so quiet ! Awesome beds :)
Our hosts greeted upon our arrival and personally offered any extra help with our dog and luggage. The place was secluded on a quiet street with an outdoor pool steps away from our front door. the interior was open and spacious with a galley kitchen and, and pottery barn style décor. All the extra amenities you can think of. forget a hair dryer got it, fully furnished kitchen is all there, coffee, stove, fridge toaster, wine opener a must. They even made time for a visit and dog treats for our retriever, dog bowls too! She thinks of everything.
2nd floor bdrms all open and bath downstairs are accommodating. A nice family set up with children.
Maps, magazine of things to do in Nashville and what to check out, its all there.
For Runners: A great place to run. Beautiful area around the lake. My family loved it!
Thank you for a wonderful retreat away from home. 4.5++ stars
Cliff and Suzanne were excellent hosts! Every want, need, and expectation were exceeded during our stay. We spent the majority of our time downtown and their home was just a perfect match for our needs. We would love to stay here again on our next trip to Nashville if provided the opportunity.
My husband and I enjoyed our one-night stay in this spacious pool house. All the beds are located in a loft area, so there isn't much privacy. But it was perfect for just the two of us and our two dogs. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, and the home was well appointed and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay again if we were ever in the area again.
Suzanne and Cliff were great hosts and their rental was so spacious, clean and cozy! It had everything you could possibly need. They and their property were also pet-friendly which is hard to come by when traveling. The fenced in backyard with ample grass was great! The location in proximity to downtown was nice as well -- not too close but not too far either. I have already recommended it to family and friends and I look forward to staying here again!!
