About Suzanne and Cliff Rockstead

Cliff and Suzanne have been married for 49 years, have a grown son, and wonderful grand-daughter. They both love animals, currently have 2 dogs, Nicky, and Frannie, and 1 cat, Mittens.

Both obtained graduate degrees from the University of TN. Cliff works as professor of business at a local community college, says it is his retirement job. Suzanne has had a varied career as a social worker and interior designer.

They have been welcoming guests into their home for 2 years and have met people from many countries in Europe, South America, and the Orient. It has been an incredibly fun journey and has changed our lives forever. Our interests have expanded, and we have been able to participate in some of our guests functions and activities.

We live on the property and are almost always available. We enjoy interacting with our guests, but also allow you as much privacy as you need. Some guests "pop in and out" of the main house regularly, and there are a few whom we have never seen.

Suzanne and Cliff Rockstead purchased this house in 2009

Why Suzanne and Cliff Rockstead chose Nashville

We had always lived in subdivisions and had built our "final house". After a few years and acquiring two dogs and a cat, we wanted more land for the pets, a place where the dogs could run "off-leash". (Suzanne also wanted a pool!) This was the perfect place, though we really did not want the pool house as additional upkeep. We love to walk to the lake with the dogs, and Mittens spends his days in the adjacent field looking for prey.

Suzanne loves to shop and daily "runs up" to Providence to pick up something.

What makes this house unique

The location is "unbelievable". Mount Juliet is growing rapidly and constantly building. We feel we live in the country with all the quiet benefits, yet can enjoy all the benefits of the city of Nashville. Besides living adjacent to 37 mile long Percy Priest Lake, we are minutes from Long Hunter State Park and Cedars of Lebanon State Park, which are great for hiking, picnics, and boating. Outdoor lovers can rent canoes, engage in nature day and night events, swim, play tennis, and horseback ride at the parks.

Great stay!

  • 5 of 5

Suzanne and Cliff were wonderful hosts. They made sure I had everything needed for my stay even going so far as to help me and my party with our luggage. The home was decorated so nicely and had wonderful space to accommodate us. It was just as pictured on the site maybe even better. I would definitely book here again.

Spring Break

  • 5 of 5

This house is even better then it looks in the pictures! It is SO clean and comfortable with such a homey feel. Being a family of 5, it was perfect for us. My 16 year old twins would watch TV downstairs until ready to come up to bed. Even though there is only the one bedroom, it worked great with them able to watch TV and not keep us up!! The kitchen had everything we needed. I LOVE all the windows and how open everything felt, not cramped up like a hotel room.

It was also very welcoming to have Suzanne greet us when we got there! I have stayed at many VRBO but never have had this personal touch! Suzanne is so sweet! She offered if we needed anything, just to come ask! Thankfully, we didn't, but it was nice to know she was there for any questions!

My kids and I had a great time looking at the Weird Tennessee book! Learned a lot! We took time to look through the information and pamphlets left by other guest to find places we wanted to visit while there. It was also great to have all the games. We played a family game of LIFE our last night there.

We had a great stay visiting our family that live in a neighboring town. If we return to visit again, I will definitely stay at this house!! Kids say in the summer so the pool is open!!!!

Great Stay at the "Pool House"

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at the Pool House, Suzanne and Cliff greeted us upon arrived and showed us around. It was great to be out in the "country" but so close to shopping and sightseeing. The house was near our old neighborhood and family, so perfectly situated. easy access to I-40, so we could get to Franklin and Downtown Nashville easily. Very quiet and relaxing. The kitchen, living and dining downstairs worked great for us. The upstairs had two queen beds and a trundle bed, so plenty of room for our family of 3.

I would totally recommend staying here if you are looking for a quiet and convenient place to stay in Nashville. I know whenever we are in town, this is were we will plan to stay again.

Great place for a small get together.

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful hidden little gem.

Had a wonderful weekend reconnecting with high school buddies.

Only 25 minutes to downtown Nashville and only 5 minutes from good shopping and resturants.

The group said that they would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

The Poolhouse was great for my dog and I. Quiet, well supplied with everything one could possibly need. Large open field right next for my dog to run and play. Restaurants and stores 2 miles away. Nashville a 15 minute drive. Perfect!!!
