Location, Location, Location!!! This unique A-Frame was originally built in the 60's by an architect who lived and breathed mountain life. The house was completely remodeled in 2015, and is like nothing else - truly unique.
For heating on cold snowy nights, a new propane furnace, wood stove, bed heaters on all beds, cozy down comforters, and feather beds insure your feet will stay toasty warm. The bathrooms have been remodeled to include a claw foot soaking tub and two custom tiled showers, along with an instant hot water heater to provide continuous hot water for all guests. There is also a sauna for soothing aching muscles from a hard day on the slopes.
The kitchen is extraordinarily functional with gourmet touches, including a Viking range, Bosch Dishwasher, concrete countertops, and everything you could possibly need to blend, puree, chop, boil, or sauté until your heart content. In addition, we have many spices available for your use.
Sleeping arrangements consist of two bedrooms and a loft. The loft has a queen bed and twin futon. The first floor bedrooms have a queen in one room, and two twin beds in the second. There is an additional twin futon available with bedding.
The upstairs is perfect for family and friends, with a great room concept integrating kitchen, eating, and living spaces. The living room has a huge and cozy Restoration Hardware down couch, along with other designer comforts and a flat screen TV for watching your favorite DVD or streaming Netflix.
We made all efforts to incorporate reclaimed/recycled finishes throughout, which is demonstrated through touches such as 9-inch yellow pine flooring planks salvaged from gymnasium bleachers and the chairlift chair hanging from the ceiling peak in the main room.
Best of all, the location of this little gem cannot be beat. Upper Skibowl is one block away. In fact, it takes longer to walk across the Skibowl parking lot than it does to walk from the house to the Skibowl gate entrance. Or rather than heading to the slopes, take a left and walk across Multopor Crossing and you are in Government Camp proper, with several restaurant options like Charley's, the Huckleberry Inn, Ratskeller, or shopping for forgotten essentials and memorable souvenirs. Unless you are driving to Timberline or Meadows, YOU DON'T NEED YOUR CAR. With that said, the driveway can accommodate off street parking for up to 3-cars (Snowpass still required elsewhere in town).
Timeberline Lodge or Mount Hood Meadows are a short 15 to 20-minute drive up the mountain.
Had a girls weekend here. It was a really fantastic! The beds are so comfortable and the Decour was fabulous the kitchen loaded with cooking requirements I.e. salt and pepper olive oil to name a few spices. Would totally rebook if given the opportunity.
All the details are so beautiful. It was a great weekend to celebrate a birthday. We all didn't want to leave the house to hit the slopes because it is so cozy! Will rent again!
Wow. That is really all I can say. My family of 4 (two kids: a 12-year-old and 1-year-old) had a magnificent stay here. The cabin is simply beautiful. It has all the coziness and warmth of a cabin in the woods with absolutely top drawer amenities. Super comfy beds, a great kitchen (with very high end appliances), perfectly outfitted bathrooms (with very nice robes for all), etc. An absolute dream escape from the city. The location is just as perfect; you can walk to the restaurants, etc. of Government Camp (which is super cute) and skiing is all around you. The only negative of our stay was leaving.
To Todd and Larissa: if you ever want to sell it, please let us know; we liked it that much:)
I booked this cabin based on the photos and good rate and it exceeded my expectations in every way. First off, owner was very quick in responding and so helpful. We arrived in cabin and you can tell immediately, this place is very special. It felt like we were being welcomed into a close friend's home, vs. renting from strangers. Fabulous updated....everything. Sauna and claw foot tub are wonderful bonuses. Beds very comfy and surround sound and smart tv's made it feel like home, but better! We could literally walk to tubing hill and to town so everyone was happy. We will definitely return. We didn't want to leave. :)
We had the best time! Beautiful cabin located in the heart of government camp. Quaint, well decorated, and entirely comfortable for our family. Loved the snow, games, movies, wood stove, down beds, gormet kitchen...basically everything. We will be back!
This is a fantastic rental home. Plenty of room and great Decor. We really enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend this place for winter or summer getaways.
