Words can't describe my experience. I have been many places in my life but I have to say Montana rates as the very best trip I have ever been on. And the main reason behind that experience is this cabin and its owner. This is the cutest cabin. Cozy with every modern amenity you would want. The setting is beyond beautiful. Wildlife galore. And the best part was the hospitality. The owner bends over backwards to accommodate his guests. I left feeling like family. I WILL BE BACK!! And I am recommending it to anyone who finds themselves traveling to Livingston. I don't know how anybody could EVER have a bad experience here. It's just not possible.

Very quite and relaxing, full of wildlife!

  • 5 of 5

We had an excellent experience with the guest house! The cabin is quite, clean and has a nice view of the rolling hills/mountains. We sat on the porch and drank our morning coffee while we watched the 25-30 elk pass by. The cabin is located 10 min or so from Livingston, very easy to get too. We gained a new friend on our trip. Chase was very hospitable towards us and by the end of our trip, felt like we've known him for a life time rather than two day. We also booked our fly fishing with Chase. He showed excitement and patience and made the experience a lot of fun.

Perfect stay in every way!!!

  • 5 of 5

What an awesome property. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Chase's cabin. The check-in/check-out process couldn't have been easier. The cabin itself was exactly what we needed; privacy with all the amenities. Contrary to another review, I felt nothing BUT secluded, considering the owner of the main house works all day. There is another house across the "street", but it's like 200+ yards away, definitely not right on top of you. Heck, if you're a nudist you could probably trot around the yard and 56+ acre property all day without the concern of prying eyes.

Anyway, the cabin was absolutely awesome. The owner could not have been more hospitable. The wildlife in the area obviously like the cabin as much as we do, as we enjoyed coffee with the deer one morning. Chase is a great host, who is only a text away should you need anything. I feel we've made a life-long friend.....what a super nice guy. His enthusiasm about the area is infectious. You can tell he loves where he lives and seriously, who wouldn't?? I'm so jealous as I sit in 95 degree heat and 100% humidity in southern Virginia (BLAH!!!!).

In addition, you cannot beat the price for the amenities received. We stayed in other accommodations that cost twice as much and those places had no TV, no internet and no air conditioning. Chase's adorable cabin has all 3, so I feel it's a bargain.

We had a totally awesome experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cabin to anyone visiting the area.

If you do stay, I highly recommend booking a fishing trip with Chase through Yellowstone Angler. He worked his you-know-what off to get us the most beautiful cut throat trout in Yellowstone NP. Wow, is all I can say.

It's an experience I will never forget. Thank you Chase for the awesome accommodations and the extraordinary fishing experience.....not to mention the brisket, OMG!!!!! You are a brisket God ;)

Thanks again!!!!!!!

Misleading description (not secluded)

  • 2 of 5

The cabin is a guest cabin not a "Secluded Log Cabin Country Getaway" as advertised. It is located in the back yard of the main house on the property. You will notice you cannot see the main house in the picture provided in the ad although it is within approximately 40 yards of the rental cabin. There is also a house directly across the road from the main house.

Upon arrival, we were stunned at the location of the cabin and had almost decided to not stay there. I called the owner and he met us in the yard. We told him of our concern and disappointment. He appeared to be nice and enticed us to stay by offering to help line up horse riding for my fiance and to get me into a group for trout fishing and if that wasn't possible, to take me out by himself. This was after I stated I wasn't going to pay $400 to $500 to go fishing.

We stayed two nights. He provided a phone number for my fiance to call for horse riding and welched on the the offer of the fishing trip altogether. In fact, we had a terse exchange of text messages after we were packed and leaving where he then accused me of "lowballing him" and that he would be risking everything he had worked so hard for by taking me fishing without charging me for his services(this after He made the offer to do this when we first met). He claimed I was being obsurd for expecting him to do this even though he was the one that made the offer of the fishing trip.

The text messages from him told us who he was.

The cabin , though clean and nice, was misadvertised. The owner was as described above. We would not stay there again.

Owner's Response: First off, you lost your deposit due to smoking up the guest house when "no smoking" is posted throughout the house. This fellow was too difficult and rude. His expectations were unrealistic. Fly fishing guides earn the wage we charge and that Is how we make a living. Gotta pay to play sir! You are not welcome here again without an attitude adjustment. Please learn how to act like a guest so your next stay, elsewhere, will be welcomed by the owners. I am happy to share the text from this fellow stated what a great night they had. I beginning to think they were just trying to skip out on there bill.? I feel for that poor lady(fiance')!?Eagles, hawks, wolves, bear, elk, moose, mule deer and whitetails all can be seen moving across the property. These animals are seen on secluded properties in Montana. Thanks, Chase
