Steve and Cynthia Chauvin purchased this lodge in 2004
Steve and Cynthia bought the initial property that became the Rosebarn after Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005. This property holds special meaning to them and their family (and dogs!) as it was a safe haven for them during the Katrina aftermath and clean up. There was a tremendous amount of creativity and thought put into the renovation to maintain the character of the building.
An awesome retreat for a group of friends… can't wait to get back.
We had two families, 4 kids and 4 adults. The house is fun with a trap door leading to the two bedrooms downstairs. The fireplace, kitchen and sitting area were all great. The upstairs loft was many degrees warmer than the downstairs bedrooms but it was manageable. The dock and the location on Lake Rosemound is serene and we all loved it. We hike in Tunica Falls and spent some time in St. Francisville. Great location. We had a blast!
We had a wonderful stay with our two young sons (3 and 2) who loved exploring the house and grounds. It was such an easy, relaxing vacation for us all especially with how they have everything set up and ready to go: beds made up, tons of towels, kitchen is completely stocked with cooking supplies, washer and dryer are available if you need them, fire pit outside, surround sound inside and out. It was a wonderful getaway for us, and there are a lot of sites (several plantations, Afton Villa Gardens, downtown St. Francisville) all within a short drive. We want to go back soon!
This was the most perfect place to simply get away for the weekend. It was quiet and relaxing with an immense amount of space, we absolutely loved. The on the lake dock was perfect for morning coffee and the backyard was great for a relaxing evening.
I will recommend this place for any of my colleagues and friends!
We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was large enough to accommodate our large family. The grounds were perfect for our exploring grandchildren. We have recommended this home to friends and would love to stay there again.
