About the property

1 Bedroom, 1.5 Bathroom, Sleeps 4

A cozy cedar cottage located in a small, quiet, peaceful neighborhood on Garcon Point. The cottage has one bedroom with a king size bed, one full bath and a half bath (located on the front porch), a large open kitchen, dining and living area. The glassed-in front porch serves as additional living area as well as a sleeping area with a double bed. A sofa sleeper in the main living area offers a bed for two additional quests. Appliances include washer and dryer and new microwave, stove and dishwasher. A deck and a large patio are located at the back of the cottage for entertaining and relaxing. The glassed-in porch is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the views of Escambia Bay and beautiful sunsets. Two acres of coastal live oaks harbor wildlife and provide enough room to park your boat or RV (a $10 hook-up fee will apply; 30 amp hook-up and waste disposal not available on site). There are hiking and biking trails in the Garcon Point Water Management Area (3200 acres), miles of natural shoreline along the point, and three public boat ramps nearby. Beaches and parks on Santa Rosa Sound and the Gulf of Mexico are easily accessed. Fishing access is available on Garcon Point and at nearby public piers and beaches.

About G. Baltz

We have used this property, our 'House by the Sea', as a second home since 2001 until retirement from LSU. Then we moved to Florida in 2013 to be near family and enjoy coastal Florida. We enjoy fishing in coastal waters and gardening on the shore of a small bayou.

G. Baltz purchased this cottage in 2001

Why G. Baltz chose North West Florida

Why Garcon Point. It's a rural setting but close enough to Milton, Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, and Gulf Breeze to take advantage of the entertainment, shopping, dining, and other outdoor activities. Get away from it all on two acres or entertain friends outdoors.

It's a wonderful place to gather with friends and family. Lots of attractions are nearby including beaches and parks, the Naval Air Museum and historic Pensacola. Day trips to Ft. Walton Beach, Destin, Seaside and beyond for shopping, dining, and recreation are great ways to explore the panhandle and enjoy its delightful summers and mild winters. We now live in Florida where we continue to enjoy all that the Florida Panhandle has to offer.

What makes this cottage unique

Only 15 miles away, Seville Square, in Pensacola, is the venue for numerous festivals: food, music, arts, and more. Explore the area's of restaurants, museums and shops all within walking distance of the square.

quiet, peaceful cottage

  • 5 of 5

What a nice place. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We had a great time doing things in the Pensacola area from here. The cottage was clean.

It would have been nice to know - that the toll on the bridge to Gulf Breeze was $3.75 and the one to Pensacola Beach was $1.

Great location for a much needed getaway!

  • 5 of 5

The pictures do not convey how welcoming and comfortable this cottage actually is. We enjoyed the quietness of the neighborhood and the beauty of the bay. The weather was perfect. It was warm enough to go swimming during the day but cool enough to enjoy drinking a cup of coffee and watching the sunrise.

There is only one thing that we didn't like about this cottage and that was leaving it. ( I am already looking at when we can do it again.)

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The website for this property does not reveal the true comfort and quaintness of this 2-acre property. Everything about this "cabin" is amazing. It is clean, neat and well-appointed with all the comforts of your home away from home. The owners have thought of everything and no need to worry about anything. I really like their sharing philosophy about spices, hair products, canned goods, cooking oil, etc. If you forget anything, it's most likely there as former tenants leave many used and unused items for your use. The amenities such as furniture, bedding, and electronics are all top-notch. It's like someone is living there all of the time. Our last morning, I sat and enjoyed the sound of rain while I sat in the spacious glassed in Sunroom. Although it's about 20 or so minutes to Pensacola, it's well worth the drive to stay in this magnificent home. Greg Coile, Atlanta

Nice, peaceful setting. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Our stay at the cottage was great. It is in a perfect location; close enough to attractions, but away from the hustle and bustle. The sunset over the bay was beautiful. We would definitely stay again!

A little private slice of paradise

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived I was in love with this cottage, and with Don and Gaye. I got to spend some time talking with Gaye and I just adore her; so very kind and considerate.

The cottage itself is wonderful, we were there for a week and felt so very at home that it was difficult to leave. I honestly wish we had taken more time to do things at the cabin. But those are things we can do next year when we go back, which we can't wait to do.

I loved the comfortable king size bed in the bedroom, the big kitchen that had all the dishes needed, getting to drink my coffee out on the enclosed porch and watch the squirrel antics and the boats on the bay, having a glass of wine on the outside porch while my husband cooked dinner on the grill, roasting hotdogs with the kids, the fact that though I was the last person of five to take a shower there was still hot water left, that if I needed anything Gaye was just a message away. This cottage is really by far the best place I have ever stayed anywhere and we cannot wait to go back.

Location amazing! I loved that we were just ten minutes from Pensacola Beach but away from all of the hustle and bustle. All of the traffic is on the other side of the bay, so after a day at the beach you can leave everyone behind and be alone with your family/friends. We will be planning our next trip according to when we can get a reservation at this cottage.

In closing, in short.....love it love it love it, and cannot wait to return to it...

Thanks for an amazing stay. It was a wonderful 40th birthday.
