About G. Baltz

We have used this property, our 'House by the Sea', as a second home since 2001 until retirement from LSU. Then we moved to Florida in 2013 to be near family and enjoy coastal Florida. We enjoy fishing in coastal waters and gardening on the shore of a small bayou.

G. Baltz purchased this cottage in 2001

Why G. Baltz chose Milton

Why Garcon Point. It's a rural setting but close enough to Milton, Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, and Gulf Breeze to take advantage of the entertainment, shopping, dining, and other outdoor activities. Get away from it all on two acres or entertain friends outdoors.

It's a wonderful place to gather with friends and family. Lots of attractions are nearby including beaches and parks, the Naval Air Museum and historic Pensacola. Day trips to Ft. Walton Beach, Destin, Seaside and beyond for shopping, dining, and recreation are great ways to explore the panhandle and enjoy its delightful summers and mild winters. We now live in Florida where we continue to enjoy all that the Florida Panhandle has to offer.

What makes this cottage unique

Only 15 miles away, Seville Square, in Pensacola, is the venue for numerous festivals: food, music, arts, and more. Explore the area's of restaurants, museums and shops all within walking distance of the square.

Hideaway Cottage

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful surprise to enjoy such a lovely home away from home. The cottage is tucked away but conveniently close to beaches. The only draw back was the toll bridge that was just across bridge from the beaches was $3.75 both ways, ouch! But worth it to not to spend all my time driving.

The cottage had items you may have forgot or don't think of bringing to cook with. There were many types of seasonings. Many types of cookware and dishes were available. I have found in many places I stay they only provide 2 or 3 dishwasher soap applications, there was plenty for the stay. And not only were there dishwasher soap there was also clothes detergent! Plus plenty of trash bags, paper towels and toilet paper.

The home is decorated very comforting and relaxing. Satellite TV was available. They had a DVD player, but I was totally overwhelmed by it and didn't even try to attempt to use it. (not tech savy!) A family of six could stay comfortably and privacy per say for 4.

The cottage set back from the road which gave it unique privacy. My dog appreciated the yard. The water view sitting in the yard and from the sun room was amazing, especially the sunset. I did not utilize the fire pit but it is set up ready to go, I noticed roasting sticks in the laundry room, a smore and roasted hot dog would have been great! Very low to no traffic at this property.

I did walk the Garcon Point Trail. It was an easy trail to walk with my pup. Every time I found something new. When I was there I only ran into one other family one time.

I truly felt like I walked into home when I walked into this cottage and felt at home immediately.

Absolutely wonderful

Without a doubt this was an absolute delight, the moment we walked into the cottage we fell in love with it. Private, peaceful, extremely clean, very well equipped, comfortable bed and magnificent sunsets. What more could one ask for. Highly recommended and Don and Gaye could not have been more helpful and obliging. Ken & Beth Bristow

Great!!!

We enjoyed our stay very much. We brought our dogs and they loved the freedom of the yard to run. The cabin is in a great location not far from shopping and restaurants. We will return when we have the chance.

Restful 3-night stay in January

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for a dog-friendly home in the Pensacola area and found a great spot! The home was very neat, attractive and well cared for. The furnace kept the house warm even with temperatures in the 20s. Although not waterfront, you can see the bay through many of the windows. It was very quiet and peaceful. In warmer weather there are many locations where you could sit outside and enjoy the trees, birds, and view. You would have no idea you were surrounded by an urban area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The cottage by the sea is so home away from home!

  • 4 of 5

Everything about the property was great. The owner was nice and available when needed. My only drawback was that there wasn't immediate water access and there were roaming neighborhood dogs that squatted around the area. However, the views are great and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to get away for a holiday or for some peace and quiet. Not a peep from any neighbors but when spoken to were very friendly. Wait until you see the sunroom! :D

We loved our time at the cottage, it was a very quite and peaceful week a time to be refreshed

and renewed, mentally and physically. We took a lot of long walks and enjoyed meeting the neighbors, squirrels, and dogs. Sunsets are beautiful!!!
