About G. Baltz

We have used this property, our 'House by the Sea', as a second home since 2001 until retirement from LSU. Then we moved to Florida in 2013 to be near family and enjoy coastal Florida. We enjoy fishing in coastal waters and gardening on the shore of a small bayou.

G. Baltz purchased this cottage in 2001

Why G. Baltz chose North West Florida

Why Garcon Point. It's a rural setting but close enough to Milton, Pensacola, Pensacola Beach, and Gulf Breeze to take advantage of the entertainment, shopping, dining, and other outdoor activities. Get away from it all on two acres or entertain friends outdoors.

It's a wonderful place to gather with friends and family. Lots of attractions are nearby including beaches and parks, the Naval Air Museum and historic Pensacola. Day trips to Ft. Walton Beach, Destin, Seaside and beyond for shopping, dining, and recreation are great ways to explore the panhandle and enjoy its delightful summers and mild winters. We now live in Florida where we continue to enjoy all that the Florida Panhandle has to offer.

What makes this cottage unique

Only 15 miles away, Seville Square, in Pensacola, is the venue for numerous festivals: food, music, arts, and more. Explore the area's of restaurants, museums and shops all within walking distance of the square.

True to Description

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was just as it was presented in the description....we could find no fault at all. Unfortunately the weather was very cool for the week we were there, so we were not able to enjoy the fire pit, back patio, and swing in the peaceful setting like we would have wanted to enjoy it!

We were, however, able to find some local restaurants that were great!

Pork and Spoon, and Blackwater Bistro in Milton were exceptionally good!

If you are not a beach lover, it would be perfect! It did seem to be farther from the beaches than we had anticipated.

We would recommend it to friends!

Had A Great Time

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cottage. Great sunsets and much to do within an hour driving distance. We hiked the Garçon trail and got to see the rare white topped pitcher plant. Would recommend this as a home base or a quiet get away!

We really enjoyed staying here.

Wonderful relaxing vacation spot to get away from the northern cold. We take our 4 legged fury kids with us every where and they gave it 2 paws up.

quiet, peaceful cottage

  • 5 of 5

What a nice place. Very quiet and peaceful neighborhood. We had a great time doing things in the Pensacola area from here. The cottage was clean.

It would have been nice to know - that the toll on the bridge to Gulf Breeze was $3.75 and the one to Pensacola Beach was $1.
