My husband and I are not native Montanans but we are proud to say that we had a Montana Native in April of 2015. We moved to Montana because we fell in love with the wide open spaces, large amounts of public land, and the many blue ribbon trout streams. Our lives our centered around the activities that Montana is famous for and we are excited to share our dream fish cabin with you.
Nice, new cabin just about a half mile from a very productive section of the Missouri River! White Tail and Mule Deer walk right up to the cabin every evening. Plenty of room to hang fly rods, vests, back packs, and all the gear that is necessary to the outdoors-man. Beautiful mountain view across a rolling prairie. Water so clear the rainbows can be seen from the bank. (On a float trip, I could see 10-15 Rainbows around us at the same time!) What a memorable experience!!
This is a must stay if you're thinking of a fishing trip in the Craig area. Reasonably priced for the location and quality of the stay. Would highly recommend this property
This property is great and in a great location. The property owners we very easy to communicate with and even provided some fishing tips upon arrival. The view out back and the distance from the river is why the group of 6 of us will be back again. The property is spacious and could have housed more people if required.
The fishing was slow and the weather was cold but we still had a great time. We couldn't be happier about the property. We will be back again.
I had the pleasure of staying in this beautifully appointed house in April 2016. The location is perfect, just 15 minutes drive from Craig and a 15 minute walk to the Missouri river. Each morning and evening I was treated to a panoramic view of a meadow featuring herds of antelope and deer, cast against the Montana mountains.
The cabin itself is spacious and comfortable with a mud room ideal for fishing gear. The structure has lots of windows and it's bright and airy. Whether you're a diehard fishermen or a avid book reader, this place is a great escape!
We spent 4 nights at this property from April 14-18, and fished the Missouri River. This is a wonderful cabin - everything is brand new, and the location is incredible. Just a couple of miles from downtown Craig, and a 15 minute walk on national forest land to the banks of the Missouri. World class trout fishing awaits! The cabin is designed with fishermen in mind, with all the amenities you need to make your stay enjoyable and carefree. We flew into Great Falls, which is an hour's drive to the cabin. You can also fly into Helena, which is a similar distance. In the morning and evening, we would watch antelope, deer, and eagles in the surrounding countryside. You don't have to be a fisherman to enjoy the cabin, and the surroundings. This would also be a great place for a family vacation!
This property is fantastic. We were up for a late fall fishing trip and stayed at the home. What a great experience - the setting is amazing (long views, wildlife everywhere, and close to 'town') and home is beautifully appointed. Outstanding mud room to store fishing/hunting gear, great common area and kitchen, and very comfortable bedrooms (with great views). If the fishing hadn't been so good I would have enjoyed exploring the land around the home.
There are a lot of rentals along the Missouri but few of them get you this close to Craig! You can drive to Craig in less than 5 minutes but after a day of fishing or kayaking in the river, you can "get away" from the noise of the interstate and the frontage road and enjoy amazing views and quiet solitude.
The cabin is located less than a half mile from the Missouri River on 20 acres of grassland. From the cabin, you can walk to the Missouri River and access several wading locations to wet a line. The property is adjacent to a section of state land that you can use for hiking and wildlife viewing. From the front porch you have beautiful panoramic views of the Big Belt Mountain Range.
The cabin is located close enough to boat ramps to make fishing adventures easy (less than 5 minutes to the Craig, Stickney Creek, and Spite Hill ramps) but far enough away from the highway so you can relax and get away from it all.
Location is 40 miles from two of Montana's larger cities: Helena and Great Falls (both have airports).
