About the property

Bright, art deco era upper unit with great living area.

The duplex was built in 1925 and maintains its original art deco feel. The dark woodwork, door hardware, North and South side piano windows, winding staircase and hardwood flooring throughout the home are inviting and warm. The windows on three sides of the living room provide a fun "tree house" view of the lovely homes on our quiet street and make a great spot to relax or work in the afternoon sunshine. The deck off the second bedroom faces the back yard is the perfect place to spend a summer evening.

There are two bedrooms. Bedroom #1 contains one queen sized bed and ceiling fan. Bedroom #2 has two twin beds. Both rooms have dressers and closet space.

The spacious living room includes lots of comfortable seating, flat screen TV, DVD player and Netflix access. There are also a variety of games and books for guests to use.

The full kitchen is clean, updated and provides items needed to cook meals including full sized refrigerator, oven, gas stove, microwave and dishwasher.

The bathroom is a typical size for the era and has a deep tub with a shower.

The dining room boasts a classic plate shelf and two large West facing windows that bring in the afternoon light. The large dining table can easily seat six.

"The duplex" (as we call it) has been in Elise's family for years. Prior to purchasing the home and moving into the lower unit, we fell in love with the unique and convenient area while living as renters in the upper unit (the unit we are now posting here). We are thrilled to be part of a community that values the historical homes while it pursues some exciting upcoming sustainable development.

What makes this apartment unique

We love the "tree top" feel of this apartment and the view looking down the street at the other unique homes is wonderful

We are the perfect distance from the activity at the University of Minnesota and downtown Minneapolis and our location provides many great options for exploring the city.

Great Stay in Prospect Park

Great stay and Clark was very accommodating. The location was perfect and close to what we needed; we really enjoyed our stay. The only negative was the wood floors do make noise when walking on them; but it is an older house. I would definitely recommend this accommodation and will stay here again if traveling to Minneapolis.

Comfortable Stay

This apartment style was a comfortable stay, with a definitely well equipped kitchen. The floors creak a bit, the stairway going up is a bit narrow, but remove those minor issues and the apartment was a great place to stay and the owners were very helpful. Also, nice because it was in very close driving distance to most needs.

We enjoyed both the apartment and the neighborhood. Very functional; very good location. Photo doesn't show how pretty the trees outside the living room windows are.

Comfortable Minnesota charming home.

The house was a typical Minnesota home with all of the charm of the old wood trim throughout, lots of windows, efficient use of space. The 2bedrooms were perfect for us. And it was good to have a kitchen with all of the kitchen ware you would need. There was a limited supply of dry condiments (e.g., sugar, salt). What I have experienced in other VRBO's is a generous supply of refrigerated condiments (e.g., ketchup, mayo, mustard) - stuff you don't want to buy for a few days and then throw away.

Our hosts were very timely with information. I felt bad, though, having to call st 1:00 am the night I arrived to ask about the door code - apparently they changed the code that day and didn't update the standard email instructions that included the old code. But our hosts were kind about it all, even though I woke them - I know I would have been cranky.
