This is a beautiful 3br , 2.5br 2 level loft Condo is in Ledroit park DC. Nicely furnished with lots of space. Has 12 ft ceiling, Brazilian cherry Hardwood floors, Brand new carpet in hallways, 2nd and 3rd bedroom (8-31-2017). New appliances. Bedroom 1 and 2 connected to an attached full bathroom with jacuzzy tub. 800 sq/ft 2nd floor master bedroom with open deck Views of the US Capitol and Monument. Large living area with 2 TVs. One in living room and one in Master bedroom. Neighborhood is great & walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars and metro.

Off Street parking is gated with auto gate opener. Also comes with parking pass for street parking. PARKING request has to made at time of booking. There is no extra charge for parking. Off street parking is ONLY available upon request at time of booking so it can be reserved for you. One car per family. Other car gets a street pass to park in front of building and covers all of DC zone one parking. Also a good option of have if you plan on driving.

Lots of space but not in the best shape

The apartment was spacious, and the kitchen was nice. Unfortunately the pictures looked much better than the apartment. The lamps from the pictures were gone and there was no comforter on the bed upstairs. The furniture seemed quite worn, and the furnishings were scarce. The carpet was quite dirty; there was mold on the ceiling in one bathroom. There were no wash rags and just a few hand towels. It felt like we were staying somewhere that was half moved out of. Random items were left, and the place was just bare and awkward. The owner was responsive to questions, but I would have a hard time recommending this place. We have stayed in other Home Away properties that I would highly recommend. This was just different from anything we have stayed in.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the feedback, we found and fixed the stain on the bathroom. Was a old stain. Our carpet is barely two years old always kept clean. Unfortunately, some guests do not take off their shoes so we have just had it professionally cleaned and included shoes off in our home rules. Other comments left does not fairly reflect our unit. Unit has 10 towels and 10 wash cloths. Extras in drawers. Furniture is in really fair shape as shown on pictures. I have old college text books on a shelf in one of the bedrooms that may be what appears as a partial move. Some furniture may have moved around but are all in the unit. We have a very clean, comfortable, spacious, conveniently located, two Tv's, cable TV, full kitchen with new appliances, 2 full baths and one half bath in a two level loft unit. Unit has two large decks. Upper deck has beautiful view of downtown DC and the Washington monument with secure gated off street parking. This is a rare find in DC. All we ask is communication so we can provide anything else you may need for a more comfortable stay. Thanks.

We were very pleased with this big, lovely townhouse! Le Droit Park is a beautiful and historic neighborhood that is conveniently located to both tourist sites and good restaurants and shops. Very good price for the location.

At Best, This Rental was a Mixed Bag

There were some aspects of this place that were nice. We appreciated the parking space a great deal. The owners of this flat were nice enough when we inadvertently locked ourselves out -- within 20 minutes, they were there with a key. But other than that, we were very disappointed and ripped off. We have stayed in many VRBO places, but this was by far the most poorly equipped we've ever rented. It is advertised for 3-7 people, but there were only 4 forks for the 7 of us. We had to go buy cutlery to even eat dinner. The kitchen basics were missing: potholders, dishcloths (only 1), a cheese grater, serving spoons and forks for meals, serving bowls -- it was worse than camping. There were two bathroom hand towels for the whole house -- and no washcloths. We had to ask for a broom, dustpan, and an extra roll of paper towels to be brought to us. But the most frustrating thing is that this flat is falsely advertised to sleep 7. There were beds for only 6, and other than the couch in the living room, nothing else is available. Our 6 year old granddaughter slept on the floor on a pallet we made. There was not even an extra pillow for her. On top of that, believe it or not, we were charged (what is in our minds) a significant additional fee for the 7th person (even though it is advertised as accommodating 3-7). The owners said that the extra charge for #7 is communicated clearly in the contract, but rereading everything we received in the process of this rental, we cannot see anything that warns the renter that #7 incurs an extra charge. What would that be for anyway? There's no bed #7, no linens, no pillow, anything! This is NOT a place for 7 people, even when three are between ages 6 and 10 (like ours were). Be warned that you'll get charged more if you bring a 7th person. Also be alert to the fact that, until the owners rectify the kitchen situation, you'll face real challenges cooking and serving meals.

Owner's Response: We do our best for all guests and try to provide extras. We have extras in the unit for cases such as this. We have two brand new sets of cutleries in a upper drawer, we have 2 and half bathrooms with 3 new rolls and extra tissues in lower cabinets. All we ask is communication and we will show you where things are or bring them over. We live a few block over so never an issue. Each unit has an air mattress in a bag in the closet. Pricing is on the vrbo site. We have not made changes in months. We explained repeatedly to this guest that even though the dual level 3br can take lots of people, we only allow 7 max for comfort of other guests. After the 6 person there is a $35 charge. We have never had any issues. 3 days after arrival, he locked himself out because he did not think he needed to walk around with 3 keys so he separated them and took two. We got the call at dinner and came right over. Right after that, we began getting lots and lots of emails asking to explain the charges and reasons behind it. This is months after the reservation was paid for and 3 days after arrival.

Good spacious property

The best thing is the neighborhood. It is walkable and has great restaurants and access to the Metro. The property is functional. We were 6 people. Some design features were a little funky. We had a malfunction of the A/C one night and the owner got it fixed immediately. Kitchen items were uneven....loads of glasses of all sizes, but only 4 forks. Dishes and other items were just enough for breakfast. Someone should clean out kitchen drawers and cabinets from multiple visitors leaving odds and ends. The shower in the master bathroom was extremely hot with no ability to cool it off. In all fairness, we did not bring any of these issues to the attention of the owner who may have been very willing to correct them. The roof top deck, while lovely, was filled with old furniture and children's toys that needed to be discarded. Looked like it was a catch all space for outgrown things.

Overall it was clean. everything worked (except neither whirlpool tub worked), the on-site parking was very helpful, TV's worked great, all kitchen appliances were in good working order, good security. No complaints that are a deal breaker.

Nice place, great location

This is a really nice upstairs unit in a row home. There is a fair number of stairs so keep that in mind. The price really couldn't be beat for what you were getting with 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom is an open air room so keep that in mind if you really need your sleeping area to be quiet and you have people who will be staying up later than you. We didn't actually discover the 1/2 bath until two days in so it was a nice surprise! The unit is connected to the Elks lodge and they were having quite the parties on the weekend we were there but the sound was not remotely overwhelming, it was very muted. The kitchen is a nice size, but the cookware offerings could be a bit on the light size if you wanted to cook a large meal while in town. It suited our needs well. The basket of fruit waiting for us was great! The location was perfect for all we wanted to do. It was only about a 5-10 minute walk from the nearest Metro station and there were numerous places to eat in the neighborhood.
