My husband and I with our girlfriend stayed at Miguel's home 4nights during Merry Monarch Festival.
The house is very clean and charmingly decorated whole through. There are everything we needed during our stay such as like washing detergent, shampoo, soap, a lot of towels and etc.
So we can start enjoying our stay right away.
The house locates very convenient site at right in downtown but still pretty quiet and cozy.
Miguel is is nice owner, he responded our questions right away before we arrived his place.
One thing we missed was refrigerator that didn't work well during our stay. We are sorry to say but we had to waste a lot of foods...
We are hoping that this can be checked before the guest's arriving next time.
Overall, we are so satisfied our stay and thankful to Miguel.
Cute, older place with lots of charm and decor in every room. The beds were comfortable with many different types of pillows for your liking. Mostly everything we needed was provided for us, including the laundry room. We mainly used the place for sleeping and bathing so it was good enough for that. A few cons: the ceiling wasn't finished in some parts of the house, no drywall or solid wood in place ... instead there was bamboo covering (kitchen, bath and hall) and could easily hear someone walking upstairs (where the owner lives). There was also a large pipe in the living room for the upstairs toilet and every flush could be heard. The house is a "mishmash" of walls and rooms with various step-ups and step-downs which we had to remember where they were. The furo tub and faucet took a LONG TIME to fill so we couldn't use it as after a half hour, only 4 inches of water filled ... which was disappointing because it was one of the major sellers of why we chose this property... and the hot water didn't last very long. And one time, the electricity surged and went out in a few of the rooms. On the plus side, we didn't hear any coqui frogs which has inundated the town of Hilo and "chirps" very loudly every night... so that was great! Miguel was very nice when I got to meet him but very busy as well and we didn't talk long. All in all, it was a nice stay and suited our purpose for our visit.
We recently stayed for 2 nights in the ground-floor apartment located in a residential Hilo neighborhood near many shops and restaurants. My husband and I were traveling with my sister and husband, and we were comfortable in the 2 bedrooms, kitchen and living area. The 1.5 bath wasn't what we expected, however. There was a large shower room with vanity and a separate .5 bathroom with sink and toilet. Even though it only had the one toilet, it was sufficient for our short stay. The location of the apartment was very convenient. We went to a local restaurant, shopped a local grocery, and enjoyed seeing the local park near the water. We traveled to Volcano National Park in less than an hour drive. Miguel left us excellent instructions for using his home, including access to the laundry room. He lived upstairs, and said we could come get him if anything needed his attention. While I didn't meet him, the notes he left gave us all the information we needed to enjoy our stay.
This was a nice spacious condo with everything you might need. There was an extra sink and the shower/tub room was separate which is great for sharing.
Location was easy to find and close to many places in Hilo. No complaints during our 2 night stay. Didn't use kitchen though it was fully available. Overall the place has plenty of space and clean.
Miguel was a wonderful host. He was asking if he could do anything to make our stay better. Close to the mall and our family and a quiet neighborhood. We stayed for 2 weeks and it was great to have a washer n dryer at our convenience. I would stay there again on my next trip.
