BooTiki House is a vacation rental house built and furnished in fall of 2014 in Cape San Blas, Florida. The name comes from a combination of our beloved Axel's nickname "Boo", and the Tiki an ancient symbol of protection and good fortune.

The house is on the north end of the Cape where the sand is white, the water is blue and the sunsets are spectacular.

BooTiki House Vacation Rental sits 1 house back from the beach in the Dolphin Beach to Bay subdivision about 1 mile north of the Trading Post. It's convenient to all the activities on the Cape. We have deeded access just steps away to the gulf and access to the bay. Ocean fun, bay sports and swimming, private fresh water pool, easy access to all the parks and hiking on the Cape is all right outside your door. At the end of day, you and your family can sit on the front deck and watch some of the most spectacular sunsets you will ever see.

Plus if you have someone in your family that has mobility issues BooTiki House Vacation Rental has an elevator, large open shower that will accommodate a wheelchair or just feel like a giant spa with multiple shower heads and access to all the common areas of the house. It is one of the few wheelchair accessible houses on the Cape.

BooTiki House has:

We know that you are on vacation and that doesn't include having to clean the house before you can enjoy it. We've worked closely with Pristine Properties to ensure that everything is tidy and nice for your arrival. We also go the extra mile. We strip the beds completely (even the mattress pad) and wash everything prior to your visit. We also wash the shower curtains before your stay. We do this at our expense just so the house is clean and comfortable for you and your family upon your arrival.

About Rebecca O'Donnell

I vacationed in Panama City Beach with my family back in the late 60’s before the big condos were built in PCB. Mike and I met in college and migrated north and built a life together.

We discovered scuba diving and spent several years touring the world but never found a beach that could hold a candle to all of that white sand and blue water.

In 2004, we were looking for a place we could have a family vacation at that would also welcome my Mom’s dog. With the click of an internet search “dog friendly beach” we found Cape San Blas. And well as they say the rest is history.

We first couldn’t afford anything at all. Then we could only afford something really old, or really big or really far away from the beach. So why not build something that was just right. And from that decision came our dream beach house: BooTiki!

We hope that you can see the care and love we've put into this place (as well as our life's savings). We'd love to share this little slice of heaven with you.

Why Rebecca O'Donnell chose North West Florida

If you can't tell from my writing, I'd say we're pretty practical people. A first tier home just a little bit back from beachfront is just a more practical choice. It's close enough to really enjoy the beach, but just far enough away from the sand and salt to enjoy being outside without all that grit.

We looked for a couple of years and found this lot for sale. Once we bought the lot we hired a builder drew up a set of plans that ticked off all our need to have's and many of our want to have's and started building.

What makes this house unique

Because the house is new; so are many of the furnishings in the house. I hope you can see the love and thought we put into each room. But we also tried to put a little fun into the house. You'll see the 1950's Tiki theme throughout with some reproduction pieces from that era as well as some authentic furnishings from that era.

We bought premium linens and mattresses, because who wants to sleep on a lumpy slumpy mattress.

When you sit on our sofa you don't feel like you're almost on the floor like those cheap and old sofas that many rentals have.

The 2nd floor bedrooms all walk out onto a beach facing deck and we put a little deck on the back of the house so you can enjoy the bay view.

We tried to think of all the things we loved and hated about all the houses we've rented and built a house we hope you'll find comfortable, clean and well just right.



Nearest Beach
out side your front door

There's a reason this area of Florida is called the "Forgotten Coast". Many people say it's like "Old Florida". Whatever you call it; we call it heaven on earth. Building ordinances keep the high rises off the Cape making the beaches uncrowded and pristine. Don't forget the beach to dog friendly year round so bring those fur babies down and run on the beach or snooze on the deck. Whatever you do just keep those darlings on a leash.

With no crowds also comes peace and quiet. There are no big box stores on the Cape and indeed you have to drive into Port St Joe to the Piggly Wiggly, but there's everything you need on the Cape and just around the corner from the Bootiki House. Literally. The Trandin' Post has a grocery store, liquor store, ice cream / coffee shop and the best donuts ever if you get up early enough to buy the before they sell out!

The hiking and birding is outstanding and can be enjoyed by everyone. We have bald eagles in the area and nesting turtles on the beach. If you love nature, you'll love this spot.

Rates are subject to change until a deposit is made. Pristine Properties is our property manager. We rent from Sunday to Sunday and for 1 week only. However, in certain seasons there is flexibility. Pristine Properties is better able to work with you on special requests. The weekly rate includes in an inclusive rate including housekeeping, linens, damage insurance. The only extras are taxes, pet fees and optional travel insurance.

Our pet policy: We accept a maximum of 2 dogs. Sorry no cats. There's a non-refundable pet fee of $150 for the 1st dog and an additional $50 for the 2nd dog. We love animals and have tried to build in pet friendly features into the home.

We strip the beds completely (even the mattress pad) and launder everything prior to your visit. We also launder the shower curtains before your stay.

Rates are subject to change and are not promised until a deposit is made. 50% deposit required to hold reservation. The remaining 50% is due 30 days prior to stay. Pristine Properties is our management partner. The weekly rate includes in an inclusive rate including housekeeping, linens, damage insurance.
