This delightful house dates from the late 18th century, and was renovated in the 1980’s. The front rooms are a comfortable 19 feet wide, a rarity amidst the typical narrow Fell’s Point row houses. Another unusual feature is that the front portion of the house was originally constructed of cypress planks, and was then covered with German-style clapboards about 100 years ago. The original 16” cypress boards can still be seen on the side of the house. There are less than a dozen frame houses remaining in the neighborhood.
A rear addition was added in the early 20th century. A striking feature of the kitchen/dining area is the abundance of natural light, admitted by the two-story atrium topped with a skylight. This illuminates the center of the house and diffuses through the curved interior glass-block wall of the second floor bathroom. A charming rear courtyard offers plenty of private outdoor space for dining and relaxing.
The interior is enlivened by colorfully painted walls and numerous fascinating paintings and artifacts collected by the owners during their world travels. This stunning historic property provides an idyllic retreat from the everyday routine, yet sits just steps from the waterfront and the myriad attractions of Fell’s Point, Harbor East and the Inner Harbor.
This home was perfect for our sisters fall getaway week in Baltimore. The courtyard is welcoming and comfortable. The kitchen is equipped with everything we need (corkscrew), and the dining area has nice big table.
The stairs to bedrooms are a little scary but we managed with little difficulty.
Richard, the manager, accommodated us with an air mattress upon request.
The area has 2 hour limited parking without resident parking pass, which is thoughtfully provided. I never had to park more than 2 blocks away.
Charmingly appointed house, with everything you could need for a stay, and a block away from Thames street, two blocks from Broadway. Perfect. Would definitely rent again.
Outstanding location in historic area. Walking distance to water taxi. Beds were very comfortable. Only 1 bathroom on second floor, but overall cannot complain at all about the property. Artwork and design of home fun and energizing! Parking pass was essential and the wifi was excellent speed and reliable.
What a wonderful home in Fells Point, a block and a half off Thames Street. We parked our car and didn't move it until we left. The home had everything you could need. I was amazed how quiet it was once we were in the home. The kitchen was very well equipped, but with so many wonderful restaurants in the area, who wants to cook. Take the water taxi to the inner harbor, walk to Canton, Harbor East, or Little Italy. We will definitely stay at this home again.
This apartment was wonderful. We loved the beautiful decorations and it was perfectly equipped. The bathrooms were clean and the beds were cozy. The patio was cute and quaint. The neighborhood was quiet. Perfect for a family stay or friend get-together.
For a visit to Baltimore the location can't be beat. We stayed in this historic house in Fells Point for three nights. Easy access to restaurants, transportation, and entertainment, this place was quirky, charming and comfortable. Beautiful back patio and ample room for us and our children. Well managed property. Would definitely stay there again.
I couldn't have asked for a better place. It was reasonably priced and was exactly as presented in the photographs. I am a local person who booked this place for my girlfriend's 39th birthday. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a really cool house in Fells that is conveniently located to everything.
