Take in sweeping views of Lake Champlain from the deck of this pet-friendly South Hero home, where a private beach and dock offer the ultimate Vermont summer experience.
Located only one mile from central South Hero, this peaceful lakefront cottage in the Lake Champlain Islands is also only 21 miles from the shops, breweries, and farm-to-table restaurants of downtown Burlington.
Ideal for both couples and small families, the interior of this two-bedroom home is bright, charming, and rustic, with wood paneled walls and windows that frame Keeler Bay. After long days on the water, guests can relax in front of the cable TV, browse the wireless Internet, or stoke the competition with a board game or two.
Hoping to prepare a few meals while you're in town? The large open kitchen offers generous cabinet and counter space, an island with two bar stools, and opens into a spacious dining room for six.
But with so much natural beauty just outside the door, guests will spend much of their vacation flipping burgers on the gas grill, picnicking on the tree-lined lawn, and enjoying shaded naps on the hammock and deck.
Just beyond the yard are a private beach and dock on the shoreline of Lake Champlain, where guests can easily launch their own kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddle boards. There's also a stone fire ring on the beach for blazing summer bonfires.
This two-bedroom, one-bathroom home has sleeping space for six guests, as well as two dogs for a small nightly fee. The master has a full bed, while the guest bedroom features two twins. A futon in the living room provides additional space.
And no matter your outdoor interests, the Lake Champlain Islands offer a truly unforgettable Vermont summer experience. With roughly 200 miles of shoreline, the region is beloved by boaters, hikers, and swimmers alike, and its close proximity to Burlington is a treat for foodies and beer lovers.
So why not start a new summer tradition? Reserve this Vermont vacation home today!

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
This house was in a great spot in beautiful South Hero. The house is small, all one one level, but very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is very small, but no problem for just a few days. The kitchen has everything you would need (oh! but bring your own coffee grinder). The deck is big, with plenty of space to enjoy the sun and view! Keep in mind this is a small house, with pretty close living quarters. The only tiny disappointment was the fire pit on the "beach", The lake was very low so the beach was not very enticing and the fire pit was just a circle of rocks. This isn't five star luxury, but great for a long weekend with close friends/family.

The house was clean and had everything we needed. Nice location, only 30 minute drive from Burlington. Not many dining choices close by besides the Blue Paddle ( which is excellent but pricey ) so we found ourselves eating mostly in Burlington. Our only complaint would be that the beach is a bit steep and rocky and the water was not very clear ( weeds and stuff ) so it may not be the best swimming spot. We were there in the fall so it was not an issue for us. Overall a really nice little place for the money. I would definitely recommend it.
The property was great, I really liked the natural light in the place as I have stayed at other places on the lake that were very dark inside. An added bonus while we were not on the main lake fishing we caught some nice largemouth and pike in the evening right on from the dock.
We had a very pleasant experience at Heron Ridge. The cabin was very clean and really quite spacious. Lots of towels, beach towels, everything you needed.
We thought Charles, our local contact, could not have been better.
We had to call for a minor matter and he was there within minutes and fixed it with a friendly and very polite attitude. Enjoyed the whole experience and highly recommend this rental for couples or families.
