This 2-bedroom, 1870 square foot apartment is a true urban loft with soaring ceilings, exposed brick, wood beams, and plaster. You will find it contemporary and comfortable with an historical feel and look of a bygone era. You can relax in front of a fire, enjoy the view from the rooftop terrace, or create a meal to remember in the gourmet kitchen. You are steps away from Market Square, Live Theater, and the Old City and just a short drive from the Smoky Mountains and all they have to offer.
I am an office and property manager for Conversion Properties, Inc. in Knoxville. We totally renovated and developed this property for the owners (who happen to be very good friends or 25+ years) and we now manage it. They have entrusted me and Conversion Properties with this amazing place that I know you are going to love.
Knoxville is a great town and Tailor Lofts is in the heart of it. I have lived in the Knoxville area for more than 25 years now and am most excited to be sharing Knoxville with people from all over. There are always fun things going on in Knoxville. Market Square, the Old City, and World's Fair Park always seem to have something happening. And then there is always Tennessee Football!
The City of Knoxville offers hundreds of acres with outdoor opportunities in diverse park and green-way settings – including forests, flower-covered fields, quarry lakes, creeks, rivers, and exciting bluffs, many located within just a few minutes of downtown.
The Smoky Mountains in all their splendor are right out our backdoor. They always refresh my soul. Whether it's a hike in the mountains, or a bike ride around Cades Cove there is no place I would rather be than East Tennessee!
Many Knoxvillians still refer to this building as the Arby's Building. Arby's did serve customers for more than three decades here. The building was completely renovated in 2014 and now houses nine apartments and Five Restaurant and Bar. This apartment is the owner's personal space which he has decided to rent out on a nightly basis.
Just step outside Tailor Lofts and you are in the heart of downtown Knoxville. From concerts to canoeing, museums to music festivals, memories are made here in Knoxville. The city is home to a number of festivals, highly acclaimed museums, fantastic civil war sites, a world class zoo, and a unique Urban Wilderness that offers 1,000 acres of adventure within the city limits. You will find that Knoxville is also one of the most vibrant cities for live music. Music is on its streets and stages throughout the city. All of this just steps away from you when you stay at Tailor Lofts!
Beautiful, well-cared for property that is clean with all ultra-modern amenities. Good for groups, spacious, and conveniently located to everything you need (restaurants, bars, convenience stores, etc). Very walkable & central neighborhood. Exactly as advertised and great host. 5/5 would return.
This place was better than any other HomeAway I have stayed at! Surpassed my expectations! View was beautiful, location was fantastic and the loft itself was very cozy for a family of 4.
Can't express how happy my family and I were to find this GEM of a property in Downtown Knoxville for our end of Summer vacation. I hadn't been back to Knoxville for 20 years since taking my wife to a VOLS game vs Florida (we lost,) but fast forward 20 years, and now with two sons who are 19 & 12 years old, I wanted to have them experience Knoxville & especially what UT Football is all about. We had an awesome visit as I was re-introduced to all of the new things that Knoxville has to offer, great food, friendly people, and (of course), we couldn't be more happy with the VOLS victory of App State (in Overtime no less)!
Simply put, the loft is beautiful & amazing! It is even better than described, and has every creature comfort anyone could want. I especially appreciate the attention to the smallest detail in design and function in the loft. I can't imagine how anyone wouldn't love staying here. Beyond the loft itself, it is in the perfect location as well. Finally, a big THANK YOU to Jeannie who was easy to work with during booking and communicated perfectly during our stay.
I highly recommend Tailor Loft at 430 S. Gay Street # 401 & hope to be back sooner than 20 years this time!

From the first moment we stepped into the residence we felt special. It is unbelievable! The location to parking, food and shopping couldn't be any better! We caught the free Jazz on the square Tuesday and the Blue Plate special on Wednesday. Both very good. Spent all day Thursday in the Great Smoky Mountains, a definite must see. If you are looking for a long-term or short-term place to stay, this cannot be beat. I have set the bar too high! While our accommodations in Nashville and Memphis were nice, they did not compare to how pampered we felt here. We are looking for a reason to come back! You won't be disappointed.
This place exceeded our expectations it was perfect for our party of 9. It had all the kitchen supplies needed to cook a big dinner one night. Even a blender and ice machine for margaritas! Right by all of the Knoxville nightlife and near the Saturday farmers market and food trucks. We would stay here again in a heart beat.
The condo was centrally located and I only had to walk from a few feet to a few blocks to reach great restaurants, bars, the conference center, etc. The condo was very well equipped for a stay of a few days, and my guests loved the rooftop patio. I will definitely book again on my next trip to Knoxville. Thanks!
Although you are in the heart of downtown Knoxville, you are only a 45 minute drive away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where there are wonderful hiking trails to enjoy. You are also just minutes away from what Knoxville's Urban Wilderness has to offer -- mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing...... Come visit Knoxville and be WOWED!
