Hello Family Beach vacationers and business travelers!

A Shore Thing is a 1920's Spanish Duplex (downstairs) located in the heart of Belmont Shore, CA. Just steps to the beach, the bay and 2nd street. A Shore Thing was decorated to accommodate families of 7, with beds for 5 and a new queen bed sofa / sleeper in the living room which sleeps another 2 comfortably. A Shore Thing - Long Beach has Central Air Conditioning to make sure you and your family or coworkers stay cool. The Belmont Shore area of Long Beach offers many restaurants, shops and bars for mom and dad and the older children to enjoy and the kid Friendly Alamitos Bay is a short walk for the younger ones.

About Brent Dooley

Our family has lived in the Belmont Shore area since the late 70's. I attended CSULB in the mid 80's. We love the atmosphere that Belmont Shore has to offer and hope you will too.

Why Brent Dooley chose Belmont Shore

Location, Location, Location!! The lots down at the beach are usually quite small. That is why we prefer corner lots which allow much more sunshine and sea breezes. the large window in the family room allows plenty of S. CA sunshine into our home. A quick walk brings you to 2nd street which has every restaurant, bar and store you will ever need. Alamitos Bay, four blocks to the East offers a kid friendly beach. And Long Beach to the south offers spectacular sunsets.

What makes this house unique

A Shore Thing was built in 1929. We have decorated the house to be kid friendly or the young at heart with bunk beds and a PS3 in the back bedroom. The Living Room offers a great way to unwind and enjoy your vacation. The front patio is a great place to hang out, relax and enjoy the locals who walk by as they stroll from the beach to 2nd street.

Wonderful 'home from home' in fab location

A fabulous location for exploring LA and the coastal areas. A beautiful and very comfortable 'home from home' with everything thought of and catered for. The use of the beach chairs and cool box were much appreciated.

The owners are very thoughtful,- there were beers in the fridge when we arrived (much appreciated!) and lovely touches around the apartment of fairy lights in jars, and seashell plug in-lights left switched on (even in the day) for our arrival which we thought was lovely!

The owners are a pleasure to deal with and respond almost immediately to any email.

We had the pleasure of meeting them while we were there and they are lovely. Their beach home is well loved and cared for -it's obvious, and just makes your stay that much nicer.

Just 100 yards stroll from Alamitos Bay, so location is perfect! Our children loved jumping of the little jetty there and playing on the giant inflatable. We enjoyed Kayaking around Naples canals too. If you like big waves then its only a 5 minute drive to Seal Beach which was awesome fun!

We also enjoyed Shoreline Village for a nice meal just a short drive away, and 2nd street is only a short walk away which is buzzing with bars, shops and restaurants.

What more could you want?

We hope to return, and didn't want to leave!

Fun for all

We had a fabulous time. We were so close to everything that we walked as much as we could. Everything that we could want was available. We enjoyed the neighbors waling their dogs every night. The neighbor upstairs was very nice. I will try to rent it again but not with kids. Too Busy with kids and I wanted peace and quiet so next time I am leaving them home.

Beautiful and clean home

My son, daughter-in-law and I stayed at A Shore Thing during the Long Beach Grand Prix. It was very clean and well-appointed. The location was very close to downtown Long Beach, where the Grand Prix was being held. Situated in a great neighborhood with many restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. The one downside was the lack of parking. We decided early on that we should leave our vehicle on the street and take Lyft everywhere because the amount of parking spots were at a premium. A bit of an inconvenience and became especially noticeable when friends came to visit and had to park several blocks away. Other than that it was a very nice place to stay.

Quaint home in a great location

We stayed here with our 7 and 3 year old children and could not have been happier. Our kids loved the PlayStation, games and bunk beds. We loved the decor, comfort, location and space. This was perfect. Lots of great restaurants nearby and was steps away from the beach, even though it was too cold to swim while we were there. The owners were extremely responsive and stayed in touch before and during our stay. Highly recommend.
