Hello Family Beach vacationers and business travelers!

A Shore Thing is a 1920's Spanish Duplex (downstairs) located in the heart of Belmont Shore, CA. Just steps to the beach, the bay and 2nd street. A Shore Thing was decorated to accommodate families of 7, with beds for 5 and a new queen bed sofa / sleeper in the living room which sleeps another 2 comfortably. A Shore Thing - Long Beach has Central Air Conditioning to make sure you and your family or coworkers stay cool. The Belmont Shore area of Long Beach offers many restaurants, shops and bars for mom and dad and the older children to enjoy and the kid Friendly Alamitos Bay is a short walk for the younger ones.

- Parking is on the street. Luckily our vacation home is on the corner so parking is usually not an issue.

-A Shore Thing is the bottom floor only, please do not disturb the other tenant upstairs. Each has their own private entrance.

About Brent Dooley

Our family has lived in the Belmont Shore area since the late 70's. I attended CSULB in the mid 80's. We love the atmosphere that Belmont Shore has to offer and hope you will too.

Why Brent Dooley chose Los Angeles area

Location, Location, Location!! The lots down at the beach are usually quite small. That is why we prefer corner lots which allow much more sunshine and sea breezes. the large window in the family room allows plenty of S. CA sunshine into our home. A quick walk brings you to 2nd street which has every restaurant, bar and store you will ever need. Alamitos Bay, four blocks to the East offers a kid friendly beach. And Long Beach to the south offers spectacular sunsets.

What makes this house unique

A Shore Thing was built in 1929. We have decorated the house to be kid friendly or the young at heart with bunk beds and a PS3 in the back bedroom. The Living Room offers a great way to unwind and enjoy your vacation. The front patio is a great place to hang out, relax and enjoy the locals who walk by as they stroll from the beach to 2nd street.

Perfect Vacation Spot!!!

Perfect location and home for our vacation. The owners thought of everything!!!! The home was very clean, cutely decorated and filled with everything we forgot or couldn't squeeze in our suitcase. Very teenager friendly! We will definitely be back!

Great location!

The house is ideally located. Loved being able to walk to the beach and 2nd Street. The owners were very helpful and great to work with. The only complaint we have is that the beds were not very comfortable. Everything else was great!

Owner's Response: Cindy, Thank you for the review. I wish you would have called us with your issue with the beds while staying at A Shore Thing - Long Beach. We pride ourselves on achieving 5 stars with every guest. I texted Cindy after reading this review to find out exactly what was her issue with the bedding. She informed me that the waterproof pads we have on the mattress made her uncomfortable. We installed the waterproof pads from the beginning when we opened our home up to our guest. They are there to protect the bedding and our guest. We are installing thicker mattress pads this weekend. To all our future guest, we are very committed to your comfort. If you have any issues please contact us immediately while you are staying at A Shore Thing - Long Beach. We will remedy any issue to the best of our ability as quickly as possible. Had an amazing stay!

A Shore Thing was great. Very nice house, and a lot of great amenities were provided by the home owner. Location is perfect, just blocks away from 2nd st and all of the restaurants /bars. I will definitely be staying here again. Thank you Brent and Stephanie for the hospitality.

Baby-Moon

My husband and I had the most amazing time at "A Shore Thing" on our baby-moon. It was the perfect get away. Easy to walk to and from the beach, to shops, and restaurants. This condo was exactly what we were looking for to enjoy our time in C.A. We will definitely be back next year and I would highly recommend this place to anyone!!!!!!
