Overview

About the property

Historic Home In The Heart Of Plymouth With Easy Access To Hundreds Of Wineries!

Built in 1880, This Victorian home has been lovingly maintained for more than a quasquicentennial. To embrace the era, we have decorated Suite Lorraine in authentic antique art and furnishings, and added modern amenities for your convenience & comfort.

Each of three bedrooms has a queen sized bed, fine linens and luxury mattresses. Both bathrooms have been updated with subway tile and classic black and white mosaic tile floors. Both bathrooms feature showers with modern glass doors, antique mirrors and wonderfully soft towels. The kitchen has been opened up to give a more modern, open feel to the living space. Featuring butcher block counters, subway tile to the ceiling, new cabinets with antique pulls, and numerous hand painted Victorian plates for decor; this kitchen will also please the chef in your party with a stainless hood over the stove, and all new appliances. In an attempt to enrich your experience we've created a kitchen that has modern amenities, but yields to it's origins. The kitchen has two under-the-counter refrigerators (one mini-fridge and one wine refrigerator) and a small ice maker and no freezer. The feel of the original kitchen is brought forward in time. Everything to prepare and serve a gourmet meal is provided.

Spend your day tasting and searching for the perfect bottle of wine to share around the antique oak table with barley twist legs with friends and family. Take advantage of the abundant sunshine and warm evenings at the picnic table or around the vintage patio table on the deck shrouded with grapevines. Fire up the BBQ and create your own special evening in a truly memorable setting! Alternatively, take a stroll into town and be served one of the best meals available in the greater Sacramento area at Taste Restaurant. Stop into the Amador Vintage Market for homemade deli items and sandwiches and take them on a picnic to one of the many wineries in this picturesque area. Antiquing and boutique shopping abound for the treasure hunter in your group. For the more adventurous type, try spelunking, gold panning, zip lining, horseback riding or canoeing not far away.

About Belinda Cappelli

We are California transplants now living in Denver, Colorado. We spend our spare time frequenting art galleries and museums as much as possible. We enjoy collecting and decorating our homes and looking for treasures everywhere from thrift shops to antique stores to auctions. We have a great passion for our pets and have rescued a number of bulldogs and cats. Good food, hand crafted beers and wines make our lives and bellies full.

Belinda Cappelli purchased this house in 2015

Why Belinda Cappelli chose Gold Country / High Sierra

We both enjoy the arts and the beauty of old buildings and architecture. This house provided us the great opportunity of buying a historic home in a great downtown location with proximity to the an area that we love and have family in.

What makes this house unique

We have made every effort to make everything in the home period and reflect the Victorian age of the house in a modern setting. Leave your memories of a busy Victorian with an excess of florals and nick nacks behind. Instead, you will feel the ease of a classic style scaled down to a contemporary atmosphere where each individually selected piece of artwork and furniture can be appreciated.

Cute with Museum quality decor but some attention to detail lacking.

  • 3 of 5

There was barely enough silverware for our party of 5 and for the dignificant cleaning deposit I expected spotless, but there were spiderwebs on the kitchen light, the outdoor table had not been cleaned recently, dust bunnies on the floor and dead flies on the window sills. There was also only 1 kitchen towel and the smallest refrigerator.

It was in a quiet neighborhood with great proximity to Wine Tasting.

Owner's Response: I'm glad you appreciated the decor, but I am sorry that the cleanliness was not up to your standards. We have very high standards ourselves! I have spoken to my housekeeper and reviewed your issues with her as well as providing a checklist for her so she does not forget things like the patio table! I did review the kitchen items and there were 2 towels, but they were in different drawers. We have a full set of silverware for 6 people, but we are missing 2 teaspoons. I will make sure that we replace the spoons ASAP!

Cute authentic cottage

  • 5 of 5

We were blown away by how well done this house was. It is filled with antiques and relics from the house since the 1880's. NOT a good fit for small children. It's in a great location with everything you need.

Beds were very comfortable.

Showered were big and stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

Kitchen has a dishwasher, wine fridge, ice maker and small fridge along with a stove and everything you need to make a great meal. Would definitely book again.

Beyond our expectations.

  • 5 of 5

Three women enjoying a girls getaway. We were all very pleased with the housekeeping, comfortable beds and location of Suite Lorraine. The resident cat was an added bonus, and made his self at home both outside and inside. We all would highly recommend any one visiting wine country to spend some time at Suite Lorraine.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the great review and we look forward to having you back! The cat belongs to a neighbor and likes to hang out around the house sometimes looking for love, which it sounds like he found with you! While we adore animals too, we would prefer not having the cat in the house ;-) Unfortunately, some people have allergies to our feline friends!

Incredible weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

The history in the house is fascinating & the owners have done a great job finding decor and knick-knacks to compliment the historic feel.

Easy to get to and very spacious. We can't wait to book our next stay.
