Space 1,062 sq. ft.
Property type house

About the property

Historic Home In The Heart Of Plymouth With Easy Access To Hundreds Of Wineries!

Built in 1880, This Victorian home has been lovingly maintained for more than a quasquicentennial. To embrace the era, we have decorated Suite Lorraine in authentic antique art and furnishings, and added modern amenities for your convenience & comfort.

Each of three bedrooms has a queen sized bed, fine linens and luxury mattresses. Both bathrooms have been updated with subway tile and classic black and white mosaic tile floors. Both bathrooms feature showers with modern glass doors, antique mirrors and wonderfully soft towels. The kitchen has been opened up to give a more modern, open feel to the living space. Featuring butcher block counters, subway tile to the ceiling, new cabinets with antique pulls, and numerous hand painted Victorian plates for decor; this kitchen will also please the chef in your party with a stainless hood over the stove, and all new appliances. In an attempt to enrich your experience we've created a kitchen that has modern amenities, but yields to it's origins. The kitchen has two under-the-counter refrigerators (one mini-fridge and one wine refrigerator) and a small ice maker and no freezer. The feel of the original kitchen is brought forward in time. Everything to prepare and serve a gourmet meal is provided.

Spend your day tasting and searching for the perfect bottle of wine to share around the antique oak table with barley twist legs with friends and family. Take advantage of the abundant sunshine and warm evenings at the picnic table or around the vintage patio table on the deck shrouded with grapevines. Fire up the BBQ and create your own special evening in a truly memorable setting! Alternatively, take a stroll into town and be served one of the best meals available in the greater Sacramento area at Taste Restaurant. Stop into the Amador Vintage Market for homemade deli items and sandwiches and take them on a picnic to one of the many wineries in this picturesque area. Antiquing and boutique shopping abound for the treasure hunter in your group. For the more adventurous type, try spelunking, gold panning, zip lining, horseback riding or canoeing not far away.

About Belinda Cappelli

We are California transplants now living in Denver, Colorado. We spend our spare time frequenting art galleries and museums as much as possible. We enjoy collecting and decorating our homes and looking for treasures everywhere from thrift shops to antique stores to auctions. We have a great passion for our pets and have rescued a number of bulldogs and cats. Good food, hand crafted beers and wines make our lives and bellies full.

Why Belinda Cappelli chose Plymouth

We both enjoy the arts and the beauty of old buildings and architecture. This house provided us the great opportunity of buying a historic home in a great downtown location with proximity to the an area that we love and have family in.

What makes this house unique

We have made every effort to make everything in the home period and reflect the Victorian age of the house in a modern setting. Leave your memories of a busy Victorian with an excess of florals and nick nacks behind. Instead, you will feel the ease of a classic style scaled down to a contemporary atmosphere where each individually selected piece of artwork and furniture can be appreciated.

Charming old house. But very comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

Enjoyable old home. Many old artifacts on display. Comfortable bedrooms. Kitchen being over 100 years old, squeaky wood floors should not be a surprise. It has everything you need, though refrigerator/freezer are small.

Sweet at Suite Lorraine

  • 5 of 5

We were 3 couples at Suite Lorraine anxious to explore the wineries of Amadore County. The house was charming and just as pictured. The furnishings with posted information enhanced the story of this house. Local wineries were readily available and welcoming. While we were there we enjoyed the super moon and then the lunar eclipse which was visible from the back yard. I sat in the yard playing moon songs (quietly) with a sense of gratitude, feeling that this was indeed a very special place.

Very thoughtful details and a piece of history right in heart of Plymouth

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at suite Lorraine. The house is very comfortable and walking distance to main street where we had family staying at nearby hotel for a birthday weekend. We ended up hosting several meals at the house which was lovely. If you are planning on cooking I'd highly recommend bringing larger pots and pans we had to get a bit "creative" with our cooking. If we are back up in this area I'd definitely stay here again.

Cozy and clean Victorian home in the middle of fantastic wineries!

  • 5 of 5

We spent 2 nights in this stunning house which we enjoyed reading about the various antique art and furnishings as information is posted on the walls like a museum. We made dinner nightly in the modern kitchen while we enjoyed a glass of wine from our winery visits. The beds were very comfortable and rooms very clean. Plenty of space for our 5 person group to relax and enjoy playing board games together. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much. The decorating throughout the house gave us much to talk about. Outdoor lighting for the back patio would be cool!
