Magnificent home with outstanding facilities and heavenly mountain views.

This home easily accommodates the fourteen occupants it claims to serve. With its duel kitchens ,dinning and sitting rooms guests can do their own things together or independently. In my case I was bringing family members together for a reunion to dovetail with my relatives who live in Kilkeel. Only after booking this grand property, did I find out that my cousin William John had built it for his daughter and her in-laws to live together while caring for her handicapped child. When his progressive condition became fatal, at 14, they went back to their own abodes and the big home was sold. It is a wonderful place to stay and very reasonable when compared to staying in a small hotel room. It would make a perfect Bed & Breakfast. My reunion efforts were well beyond my expectations. With 16 from the U.S. 3 from the U.K. 1 from Wales along with the local cousins and their families, we had a gathering of the clan of 103 on August 12th. Truly unforgettable!!! Thanks for your help!

mourne house kilkeel

  • 5 of 5

mourne house is a beautiful place to stay, it suited our needs, there were 10 of us staying , with visits from numerous family and friends. our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the the freedom and space it provided, both inside and out. the house was stylish and well appointed with no nicknacks or delicate object d art to worry about, ( very important with 3 young children running about) there was unlimited safe parking and there was easy access to all the places of interest in the area. the views were stunning, and seemed to change with the weather we loved it and would thoroughly recommend it linda, our agent, was welcoming and we knew we could call on her if we had any difficulties. there was also a very well thought out welcoming basket of local produce which was enjoyed by all. top marks

Our family of 9 travelled to Belfast to celebrate a special birthday and going by the photos on the website, we thought we we were going to a lovely house for our weekend away. ****Total underestimation****

On arrival we were greeted with a terrific Irish welcome by Linda who had kept in contact and updated me throughout as well as ensuring our whole experience was entirely seemless. Couldn't have asked for more.

And the house - OH MY GOODNESS. AMAZING, STUNNING, FABULOUS, and more. I could go on and on.

I really have to say the photos DO NOT do it justice. It is spotless, very very very spacious, full of charm and generally just amazing. I defy anyone to find fault.

All nine members of our family had the best weekend ever and look forward to returning. We have already been recomending it to anyone who will listen.

i cannot recommend Mourne House enough. Please please DO NOT overlook this BEAUTIFUL place.

Thanks again to Linda and all the team
