Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bath, Sleeps 9, close to resorts and mtb trails, mountain views

This comfortable vacation home sits on 2-1/2 acres, located in the south end of Teton Valley, between Driggs and Victor, ID. Just 20 minutes from Grand Targhee, and 45 minutes from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. This well-appointed home is a perfect rental for the ultimate Teton Mountain ski vacation. In warmer months, enjoy the proximity to two national parks, single track trails in the Caribou Targhee National Forest, and plentiful trout streams.

SKIING

Our home is a great destination for your ski vacation. Whether you come with your family or the guys, you will be hard-pressed to find a better ski vacation location. With 500 inches average of dry powder, Grand Targhee Resort offers some of the best skiing in North America. A scenic 20 minute drive outs you at the base of the resort. "The Ghee" as it is referred to by locals, is known for plentiful snow, open runs and great laid-back family atmosphere. When you are ready for more of a challenge, head over to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, just 45 minutes away. "The Village," as it is referred to by locals, is the most challenging resort in North America. But there are plenty of green runs, making it a great resort for the entire family. And after a day of skiing and snowboarding, jump into the hot tub and relax.

NATIONAL PARKS & FORESTS

When summer rolls around, our home is the perfect base-camp for visits to Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Lodging in the parks can be expensive, and dining and attraction options are limited inside of the parks. When you stay in Teton Valley, you will be a short drive away from both parks, and you will have access to many great restaurants, grocery stores, at other activities not allowed or severely restricted in the parks (e.g., mountain biking).

If wilderness is your thing, go for a hike in the Jedediah Smith Wilderness Area and explore Cave Falls and other amazing destinations just a couple miles up Darby Canyon Road. If you have the legs, hike through Jed Smith into the back side of Grand Teton National Park!

MOUNTAIN BIKING

If mountain biking is your thing, our home is centrally located to some of the best trails in the world. Don't just take our word for it. The International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) rates the Teton Region as a Silver Ride Center (see The Teton region includes: dozens of miles of lift-served trails at Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole Mountain resorts; hundreds of miles of single track trails in the adjacent national forests and BLM lands (the Big Hole Mountains, the Snake River Range, etc.); more than a half dozen bike shops; and dozens of watering holes to quench your thirst after your ride. The Valley also includes a great pathway that connects Driggs to Victor and the Teton Pass. We also provide a couple cruiser bikes that you can use as well, to ride on the pathways.

FLY FISHING

Teton Valley is an angler's delight, an our home puts you right ion the middle of the action. 30 minutes to the south and west lies the South Fork of the Snake River. 10 minutes to the west is the Teton River. 20 minutes to the north is Bitch Creek and the Warm River. 30 Minutes to the north and west and you'll be fishing on Henry's Fork of the Snake River. Lastly, 30 minutes to the east, over Teton Pass, and you can access the Snake River and other fisheries in the Jackson area.

If you are looking for the ultimate fly-fishing adventure, we can arrange a custom-guided trip with one the West's top guides: Chris Chastain. Chris will design a package for you and your party to sample any or all of the great streams mentioned above. He'll pick you up every morning and set you up with all the gear and flies you need.

SLEEP

Comfort was a big priority when we converted our home to a vacation rental. The home includes 3 bedrooms: a master with king bed and bath; bedroom 2 with a king bed; and bedroom three with a bunk bed twin over full). A super comfortable memory foam queen sleeper couch in the living room brings to total occupancy to 9 people on 5 beds. All beds include high thread-count linens, comfortable mattresses and extra pillows. Rest assured -- pun intended -- your sleep will be divine.

EAT

Our gourmet kitchen includes stainless steel appliances, including a convection oven/gas range, super quiet dishwasher and refrigerator. All the cookware you need to prepare home-cooked meals for your group are included. The dining table seats 8, and the bar seats 4.

ENTERTAIN

About Scott Cullins

The Beverly Hillbillies Come to Teton Valley!

In the fall of 2015, Juliet and I decided to convert our home from a long-term rental into a vacation rental. We raised our two boys in this home, but moved to Park City, UT, in 2011 for work. We love this home and we love Teton Valley. We plan on visiting often and we'd love to share our home with you!

Doing the conversion was quite a challenge for us. I spent many hours bargain hunting in the Greater Salt Lake area for quality furniture. The guy we bought our dining table from was shocked when we showed up in my Audi wagon. He had to take a picture (see above) of reminds me of that old TV show, The Beverly Hillbillies!

We originally moved to Idaho in 1999, from Los Angels, when the boys were babies. I'm a California native and Juliet was born in Queens, New York, and moved to Los angeles when she was 13.

We love the outdoors! We ski a lot, mountain bike and hike in the Tetons and the Wasatch Range in Utah.

Both our boys were competitive freestyle skiers but are now attending the University of Utah and focusing on the future. Sounds good, right? But I recently realized that you never stop worrying about your kids.

Life goes on and we intend on getting the most out of it. We hope you do as well!

Why Scott Cullins chose Teton Valley Area

Location, location, location. Centrally located between Grand Targhee and Jackson Hole. Close to great skiing, mountain biking, fishing and more.

Our home is off Darby Canyon and sits on 2-1/2 acres. You won't see many people in the neighborhood, but you may see the occasional moose, or hear the occasional coyote.

The home is close enough to town, so that you can be shopping for groceries or dining within 5 minutes. But it is far enough out that you can experience the quiet serenity of mountain living. Plus, the home has all the comfort and conveniences of a modern home.

Amazing time in Teton Valley

  • 5 of 5

Our group had a fantastic time at the Darby Canyon home. We spent most of our days out hiking and being able to come back to the house was a great way to unwind. Quiet neighborhood, plenty of room, hot tub didn't hurt! Highly recommend staying here and checking out the Darby wind cave up the road. The drive to GTNP was 45 to 1 hour depending on traffic on the pass but with all the beautiful scenery it went by quickly. In my opinion it was worth the little drive to get out of the crazy hustle and bustle of Jackson Hole. Thanks to Scott and Juliet for allowing us to stay in their gorgeous home. We hope to make it back one day since we didn't even get to scratch the surface of what Wyoming and Idaho have to offer!!! - Alicia

Peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had such a lovely stay! The house was just as promised. On a quiet road with easy access to hiking, as well as only 40 minutes from Jackson. But we loved both Driggs and Victor. Don't miss the huckleberry shakes at the Victor Emporium! Also the Brakeman Grill is fantastic.

Scott was very responsive to any questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Vacation Home in Driggs, ID

  • 5 of 5

Perfect vacation home to accommodate a family gathering. Immaculately clean upon arrival, all appliances in great working order, well stocked kitchen for cooking home meals, plenty of room to spread out and relax, comfortable beds, plenty of natural light and fresh air, great outdoor deck to watch the stars at night, clean hot tub to use at the end of the day, fire pit for campfires and BBQ grill available as well. Driggs and Victor easily accessible for groceries/restaurants. Lots of great outdoor opportunities both nearby on the less crowded but equally beautiful Targhee side and a little bit farther away on the Jackson side. Owner Scott quick to reply both email and text. Will definitely stay here again.

Location, Location, Location!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful home certainly made our trip complete. It has high ceilings and many windows, all with views of the mountains and open spaces. Each time I walked past the sliding door in the kitchen, the view overwhelmed me. There was always a nice breeze which made the leaves on the Aspen trees rustle.......a wonderfully calming sound! We spent each evening on the front porch relaxing with a glass of wine and a few nights in the hot tub watching the incredible sky and stars. Getting to Jackson and The Grand Tetons was just a quick ride over the mountain and we were so glad to have such a calming home base as opposed to staying in busy Jackson. We went to the local rodeo in Driggs, had milkshakes at the "counter" at the Victor Emporium, had great meals at Provisions in Driggs and Big Hole BBQ in Victor. There were both large and small grocery stores near by......... We started to feel like the locals! Thank you to Scott and Juliet for sharing their home and allowing us to enjoy the experience of Idaho!
