About this property

Beautiful lodge in a serene mountain setting on the Bull River

The Bighorn Lodge is new to VRBO but not to making family, friends, groups, and couples feel a sigh of relief when they walk through the front door. Our lodge is 4200 sq ft on the bottom floor. There is a commercial kitchen, pantry, laundry room, a great room which has a big dining area, two conversation areas, a big stone fireplace, and a grand piano. There is a suite and one bedroom, each with full bathrooms on the 1st floor. Upstairs is 1750 sq ft . It has 4 bedrooms, each with a full bath and a balcony overlooking the great room . Walk out onto the back deck to view the river and mountains and the beautiful landscaped yard. Lots of things to do - fish from our river bank or use the boat, paddle the canoes, play yard games, relax in the hammock, hike the many trails just out the door, enjoy the hot tub, and end the day sitting by the fire pit.

Rustic Montana Wilderness Lodge
Our extended family had a lovely, idyllic extended weekend in the Montana wilderness at the Bull River Lodge. We had plenty of space in the large lodge to sleep several families comfortably and plenty of space inside and out to enjoy each other's company or to sneak away for a bit of peaceful alone time in the beautiful Montana river valley landscape. We also enjoyed the professional kitchen with all of its amenities to cook delicious meals to share together! Located right on the Bull River we were able to enjoy some many activities- fishing, kayaking, swimming- and then ending the day in the hot tub! Also, conveniently located within short driving distance to Ross Creek Cedars Trail and Bull Lake. We had a blast exploring, playing and just reconnecting as a family at Bull River Lodge!

Great Place
My family and I (group of 14 in total) stayed over Christmas and I believe the winter experience is much different than other seasons. We very much enjoyed our stay. There is plenty of space for large groups and the number of bathrooms is a bonus. The kitchen is amazing and very well equipped. The property was very clean upon check in and communication with the host was great. Overall, highly recommended.

About the host

Host profile image
Our cabin is about 100 yards from the lodge. We will be present if you want us or will be glad to go on a mini vacation or work in our shop if you would rather see no one else during your stay. We use VRBO ourselves every year and like to find remote spots such as our lodge.

We do enjoy watching people come here and how they always enjoy the outdoors and the unparalleled beauty of the area. It's not an easy place to live year round but we hope we never have to leave.

Why they chose this property

The VRBO application wants me to explain why I bought this piece of property. That would be better accomplished through your own eyes when you arrive.

What makes this property unique

The biggest benefit of coming to this area and the Lodge is to find or revisit a place in our country which has changed little since we became a country. The local homesteader types will probably disagree with me on this. There are benefits in both high and low populated areas. If you are from a highly populated area you will find something special here even if you hopefully enjoy where you live now.
Mountain hikes, streams, rivers, lakes and wildlife will renew your spirit.

Hope to see you someday.
