The Yellow Coconut is a beautiful East End hilltop home with spectacular views over the Caribbean Sea, Altona Lagoon & the North Shore. The home has been featured in Architectural Digest. The grounds of the house are well manicured, surrounded by beautiful bougainvillea's, large palm trees, aloe vera plants, and many other exotic flowering plants and trees. The property is very private, so you will feel it's just you and the island with not a care in the world!

Our Property Manager, Jamie Lammering, will greet you at the airport. Jamie is originally from the midwest and has been on St. Croix since 2005. She loves this sunny island as her home, and enjoys vacationers falling in love with the house, and the island. Once you've picked up your rental car, Jamie will escort you to The Yellow Coconut. The entrance has a spacious parking area and professionally landscaped walkway to the arched front door and side courtyard. When you open the front door, you will notice the breezeway leads you to the large, saline heated pool, as well as the master bedroom suite, and the remainder of the house. The pool is kept at a comfortable 86 degrees year round. There are NO STAIRS anywhere in the house, making it easy to wheel or carry your luggage to your room.

The master bedroom suite is separate from the remainder of the house. French doors from the master open to a lounge-bistro covered dining area overlooking the views and pool. The room is very spacious, with a brand new king bed, new nightstands, new fan and a new 40" mounted TV that you can move to your liking. The master has a bath/jacuzzi tub and a tiled two person shower. The bedroom also has a walk-in closet.

We have two guest bedrooms, both with queen beds, nightstands, fans and TVs. One of the guest bedrooms has it's own ensuite bathroom with a tiled two person shower. This bedroom also has it's own closet.

The large kitchen, living and dining areas are very open with many places to sit and relax. The kitchen also has bar seating for two. The living and dining areas have comfortable seating for eating, drinking, watching TV, or just socializing. This area includes 4 french doors that open to the heated pool, deck and the garden area.

When you're at The Yellow Coconut, outside in the pool and deck area is the place to be. There are 6 chaise lounge chairs with colorful pillows around the heated pool if you're looking to bask in the sun and enjoy the spectacular views. If you're looking to escape the sun for awhile, we also have covered outdoor seating outside the dining room and master suite with plenty of places to sit.

The Yellow Coconut is in an excellent location. We're located 2 miles or less from all of the following: Christiansted, beaches, snorkeling, diving, golfing, marina for boating/sailing, and many restaurants.

About Brian & Denyse Gibbs

We have been together for 19 years. We grew up in Kit Carson, CO, a town of 300 people. Brian's high school graduating class was 8, Denyse's was 14. We both are college educated, and we currently own a small business in Boulder, CO. We have 2 dogs, love the outdoors, sports, sun, sand and the beach! We visited St. Croix in 2005, and absolutely fell in love with the island. We decided then we would retire there someday. We've planned and saved to someday buy a home on the island. We finally put our plan into motion in 2015.

The property is special to us because this is the first step of realizing a dream to retire in St. Croix. Even though the house is used as a vacation rental home, this home is so beautiful that it is a house we could retire in as well.

What makes this house unique

The home is a ranch style, with the entire home designed around the hilltop views and easterly trade breezes. You have direct access to the salt water pool from the master bedroom and the living room. The house was designed to enjoy the views in or out of the sun, with an electronic awning providing shade for the whole day.

Lovely home, lovely island, awesome property manager

Sometimes - when traveling with children - choosing the right vacation property involves a trade off between glam & top rate OR nice enough & practical. At the yellow coconut, that's not an issue. The owners have designed a villa that is amazingly lovely without being fussy or delicate. The property manager, Jamie, bumps up your experience more than a few notches with her authentic kindness, attention to detail, and the kind of responsiveness usually only found at luxury hotels.

Thank you, Brian, Denise and Jamie for one of our best family trips to the Caribbean yet! We will absolutely be back!

Beautiful house, stunning view, wonderful property manager and owners, awesome location,

We loved staying at the yellow coconut. The house is absolutely beautiful and was more than we could of asked for. The pool was beautiful too! The house came stocked with a lot of supplies (laundry detergent, dishwashing soap, towels, etc). It was a very convenient location as it was within 10 min of downtown Christiansted! Jamie, the property manager, was awesome to work with! We will definitely be back!

Beautiful house

The house had all the amenities we needed. The view was spectacular. Jamie was most helpful. There were beach towels, chairs and coolers for use at the beaches. The girls went to the reef and snorkeled. We used the pool everyday. The big lizards kept us entertained, especially the one that kept falling from the tree. Mindy did quite well driving on the left side of the road. Hope to return some day.

Week in Paradise

The Yellow Coconut was very nice and fully stocked with all one can need while visiting the Caribbean. All of the beds, linens, and outdoor furniture were very comfortable and high quality. The outside area is really the highlight of the home with beautiful views and space. The location of the home is also very ideal, both peaceful, quiet, and centrally located to many restaurants, grocery stores, beaches, and other activities. Everything went perfectly during our stay, no issues at all, especially due to Jamie (the property manager) who was always (but not intrusively) checking with us to make sure were all set and offering us suggestions as requested. She is a fantastic resource and extremely friendly! I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking to have a relaxing vacation!
