Good family time

  • 5 of 5

We had a really nice time and Doug was cool. The house has a beautiful view, will miss waking and looking out at the mountains.

The place is great. Very spacious and equipped with everything you'll need for your stay.

  • 4 of 5

I loved the place. The only problem for me was that there was barely any service or reception and definetly no WiFi so consider this when booking. Overall i had a great time and the stars at night are magical. Definetly something you wont experience in the city.

beautiful views, but needs some work

  • 2 of 5

Doug was very friendly and quick and helpful with communication. The house has a beautiful view, with newer appliances and plenty of room. The house was basically clean, but needs a little work. There were some holes in the screens and some parts of the bathroom didn't work. I only stayed one night of the two I had planned. I discovered some mouse droppings in the kitchen. Doug was extremely apologetic and quickly agreed to refund me the portion of my rent that I requested. I, too, have a house in the country and I understand that is very hard to keep mice out. The house was not dirty- mice just happen. I wish Doug much success with the house in the future, with a few fixes it will be a stunning get away. Keep in mind there is no internet and, depending on your carrier, little to no reception.

Owner's Response: she wanted me to credit her for a free night because her trip was cut short. I could have booked the entire week instead of 2 nights she wanted a refund for a same day cancellation

Peace and tranquility

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend. We brought our dog and she had the time of her life running, hunting for frogs and swimming. The house was comfortable. We enjoyed our coffee on the front deck enjoying the scenery, lunch in cobleskill which is only minutes away, an afternoon nap by the pond followed by a wonderful quiet evening grilling on the back deck. There is plenty to do in the area if you're into venturing out or you can just relax at the house. There are nearby hiking trails with scenic waterfalls, apple orchards, a winery and a distillery. We enjoyed a local garlic festival while staying in summit. Cobleskill is only minutes away if you need fast food, Walmart or local restaurants. We would definitely rent again.

Lovely, private home.

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had an amazing time at this property, it is spacious clean and has everything you need. The front deck was my favorite place to eat meals, the views were insane. The whole place is so peaceful and calm. The front yard is huge, and the grass was freshly cut, our dogs had plenty of space to run around. One of the days of our stay rained and we found everything we needed to do a fire pit and have a good time regardless of the weather. The road to the house was a little rough but hey, we like adventure! The sunrise in this area is absolutely beautiful, by far my favorite. The house owner Doug was very accommodating and welcoming, his furry baby visited us twice and he was very friendly as well. We're already looking forward to coming back. Thank you Doug.

A restful and comfortable getaway

  • 4 of 5

We just returned from a week's stay at this roomy ranch house in Summit, NY. My partner and I planned to attend an opera at Glimmerglass so this seemed like a good location. It's also a pet friendly rental so bringing our three dogs wasn't a problem. The house is spacious and fairly well equipped. Every room has a ceiling fan which makes it comfortable. There's a lot of land around the house but it's hilly, so walking down to the pond or around the property can be a bit of a workout for some. The mountains are beautiful. Doug, the owner (and a great guy), lives nearby and was very responsive when I had a question or need. Cobleskill, where there are supermarkets, a Walmart, fast food places, restaurants, etc. is about 20 minutes away. And, as others have mentioned, the ice cream at the Bent Spoon (which is on the way into Cobleskill) is not to be missed.
