Beautiful setting, peaceful neighborhood, and the house has more than you need for a great stay.

Spent five weeks here to escape some Michigan weather. The stay was great, the lake is beautiful, and the house is very updated and nice. Hope to be back next year:)))))

Great place, nice and clean.

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at the Lake House. Very clean and nicely laid out. Enjoyed the sunrises and sunsets on Lake Weir. So beautiful. We did get a visit from "the basset hound next door" so friendly. If we go back to Florida again, we will call. Thanks again. Suze

Lovely location, very responsive owners

  • 5 of 5

This home fit our needs very well. We came down with 2 vehicles and 2 trailered boats and the property had plenty of room for all our toys. The owners are very quick to respond even using the vrbo email which was a really good thing when we accidentally locked our keys in the house while the other group was 2 hours away fishing. Within half an hour the owners contacted the cleaning service and we were back in. About the only thing that didn't work out for us was docking our boat at the house. I can't blame the owner or fault the house for this because it's due to the lake levels in FL being very low over the past 20 years. I only say this to help others if they have this expectation. The view from the dock was great, it's too bad I can't post a photo here of our sunsets and sunrises which were often spectacular. Of the 3 bedrooms we used all were comfortable and well stocked with sheets and towels. There is a separate bedroom sort of outside of the main house that has a smaller bed which would probably be ok for a child, that bedroom also has it's own shower and toilet as well. Internet service for the most part worked well, the wifi barely reaches the small bedroom in the front however but it does work. Although we didn't see much of the neighbors one that we did meet was very nice and brought us a large bag of grapefruits from his tree when we arrived which we thoroughly enjoyed. The backyard is really wonderful too, there are two patio sets as well as some beach type chairs. Also, there is a fire ring area which we used many nights. Up the road not far is a music venue called the Orange Blossom Opry, we had the pleasure of enjoying two great shows there during our stay, Pam Tillis and Jason D Williams. In addition the house is about 20 minutes away from the greenway which offers great mountain bike trails, our main reason from staying in this area. I would most definitely recommend this home to friends and would stay again myself, I cannot imagine anyone not enjoying this rental.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for the great review. We try hard to stay on top of things and want our guests to enjoy our home as much as we do. We have never been to the Opry but will do that on our next visit! Hope you will return ! Thanks!!

Holiday stay

  • 4 of 5

Stayed the week after Christmas with family. Ashlee was very helpful. The lake and setting was very nice.

Pros: the interior was nicely updated. There was plenty of linens and pots and pans for the week. Ashlee was very responsive and helpful

Cons: problems with cable and WiFi which were eventually fixed. Zero gas in the grill. Only half of the dock lights worked. Trashed was never picked up we took to the dump ourselves. Lizards in the bedroom upstairs. Outside areas seemed a little dated.

Overall we liked the property it worked for us but I thought the price was to high for what you got. We would stay there again only if the price came down.

Owner's Response: Glad you enjoyed your stay on the lake. I apologize for the trash not being picked up, our yard service does it weekly and didn't tell us that he would be gone for the week. I Wish you would have contacted me about the grill, we would have let you know that there was an extra tank there or could have had the cleaning service switch out. Lizards are common around the lake and love to come indoors...I wish I could control that... not a fan of them inside either. Thanks again for visiting our home!

Fabulous! will return!

We had a fantastic vacation! The house was classy, spacious, well stocked and clean. We had 5 boys, 4 adults and the house was perfect and comfy. The fully fenced yard made it heavenly for the dog as well. The owners were very accommodating and easy. We hope to come back next year!

A lake house with everything, sandy beach, beautiful view, large updated home......

  • 5 of 5

We spent the month of July here, We had friends and family in the area who came at their leisure to stay with us, With 4 bedrooms and 3 baths, we hadd all the room we needed. In the morning, we had some beautiful sunrises, and for 3 or 4 nights, we had a full moon, that just lit up the lake. Granted it was hot

this july, mostly mid nineties every day, but with ceiling fans and the a/c, everyone was comfortable.

Something about being on the lakes, you tend to sleep alot as you are so relaxed. And the sandy beach in front was fun, even with the water temp at 90 degrees. Fishing........too hot to fish in the summer, although I did catch a small bass off of the dock. All of the family and some of our friends, wanted us to buy the house, Maybe if we win the lotto.

All in all, this was a fantastic vacation, and Ron and his wife helped whenever we needed it. We will be coming back here to stay again.
