This home was pretty clean. The only complaint as far as cleanliness would be the fans. You didn't want to look up during dinner or turn the fan on with all the dust bunnies attached to it. Most of the fans needed wiped down.
The house had everything we needed. Plenty of towels, extra large bottles of shampoo and conditioners under the bathroom cabinets, spices in the kitchen, ziplock bags, tupperware for leftover food, laundry soap....you name it, they had it.
The jacuzzi was clean and well kept. Water was at 104. Could have been warmer but that was the max it could get up too. Very nice to have after a long day of hunting (yes we took showers before getting in the jacuzzi). Admiring the beauty of the night with all the stars and the moon was just so relaxing.
We felt safe in the house however, one of the sliding glass doors only had a piece of wood blocking the boor from opening. The actual lock was not working. Hunters with guns don't worry to much about this but still. Yes, there are people living downstairs. We didn't hear much from them. However, one night they obviously had friends over but it didn't last to late. One evening there was a strong smell of pot on the end of the house where the entrance is. Then another evening we could hear a guy and girl talking very clearly. I wondered how we could hear them so well. Were they on the porch or what? Two days before we left I realized there was a door in a little room by the entrance after entering the house. I checked the door out of curiosity and it was unlocked! It was the stairs that lead to the downstairs living area. Creepy. That means it was unlocked for most of our stay. I'm pretty sure that's where they were sitting smoking pot. Hence the reason it was so potent upstairs. Also why we could here the couple talking so clearly. They must have been sitting at the top of those stairs. This was disappointing because the house is so perfect for what we needed.
Would I stay here again? Yes. One I'd make sure the door to the downstairs living area is locked the first day of arrival. Second, if I heard people clearly talking or smelt pot, I'd be opening that door and scaring the crap out of whoever is on the other side. With gun in hand of course. Hopefully the owner of this property takes care of this situation before we ever have to come back. They were relatively quit for the 7 days we stayed there.
Great view, comfortable house.only issue is that it is advertised as a five bedroom house. It sleeps twelve but only four bedrooms. We rented the house on the idea of five bedrooms. Bedrooms were listed in descriptions, three had beds, one a futon and sofa bed and fifth detached with a Murphy bed and double bed. We had twelve people and had there been five bedrooms (closing doors on bedrooms for privacy)it would have been better. Sofa bed in living room is not a bedroom and that is where someone had to sleep,,waiting for all to go bed so then they could pull sofa bed out. Was not happy in the am when everyone got up,no privacy. We came 1300 miles for a family funeral so we made it work out. Change the description of bedrooms as it is misleading and false to whats there. Only complaint about house. Views and walks around there awesome, beauty all around. House had everything u needed. Games, movies, and all the comforts of home.
The house provided enough comfortable beds, kitchen supplies, clean bathrooms, for our girl weekend. The view was beautiful and the meadowlarks singing reminded all of us growing up in western ND. Our only suggestion is to take the casters off the table. Brooke was very helpful and responded quickly with our questions. We would stay again.
The house has every amenity that you would want. There are people living below but we never heard them. The property owner was friendly and answered all of our questions promptly. The only negative was that there wasn't a recycling bin, only a garbage dumpster.
First impression was poor with dirty dishes in the washer and the carpet needed vacuuming. After cleaning ourselves it was fine. Nice location and a big place with a big deck.
Came here for the weekend with my family for the Maah Daah Hey race. The house is huge with ample space. The only issues we had would also be cleanliness (it was not that clean when we checked in, fridge was dirty, kitchen counters, floors had dust and hair all over etc.) The location is great except that people live on the lower unit. We did not hear them at all in our stay, but they did smoke and then we had to deal with that while sitting on the deck. My only issues would be that the security deposit is $250 we have not got that back yet after 1 week and that they require you to wash your sheets and linens and clean out the fridge before you leave. That seems a little extensive for paying for a cleaning fee and rental property.
Boots House is located less than 1.5 m from Medora ND, the #1 tourist destination in ND. Enjoy the outdoor amphitheater every night starting the weekend after Memorial Day and ending the following weekend after Labor Day. You will find the South Unit entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park in Medora. Hiking trails can be found nearby the property off the Maah Daah Hey. Medora offers a lifelike Old West Town, complete with wooden plank sidewalks, shooting galleries and an array of historic sites. Filled with touristy western shops and boutiques, Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlors, honky tonk bars and Old West Saloons. The town offers a wide range of entertainment, an ultimate place for all ages.
