Newly Restored Bungalow Loft Apartment In Historic Downtown Stuart, Florida

Ideal for a romantic getaway for two, or a single person traveling for business or pleasure, buried in tropical foliage, the Loft on California is cozy 400 square-foot 2nd story walk up bird's nest atop of a meticulously restored 1926 bungalow style private home located in the Frazier's Addition garden district in historic downtown Stuart, Florida.

The roofline apartment is packed with upgraded features including king size bed, large bathroom with sparkling custom artisan tiled shower stall, floor to ceiling stained glass windows, newly remodeled full kitchen with stone counter tops, wood floors, sitting area with large flat screen TV, cable and WiFi.

The living area is nearly doubled by the secluded adjacent outdoor deck/lounge area surrounded by tropical foliage and overhead trellis.

Unit access is via private exterior staircase to a programmable keypad entry door. You can program your own private code so there is no fussing with lost keys.

The centerpiece of downtown Stuart is the historic Lyric Theater performing arts center offering great seasonal live music and theatrical performances. Downtown also offers great shopping for clothes, fine art, crafts, salons, yoga and massage therapy.

Pristine beaches are a 10 minute drive or a 20 minute bike ride.

About Bruce Wall

Kim and Bruce are a very warm, welcoming and laid back couple who live onsite. They are there if you need them, but otherwise are out of sight if you don't. All of the stained glass in the residence was designed and by Kim. Now a retired glass artist, Kim is a professional pastry chef who enjoys creating edible art. Bruce, who has worked in the aerospace industry for many years, is a seasoned water sportsman who enjoys paddle boarding, surfing, fishing and scuba diving. Don't let him convince you to try out his Indo Board balance trainer, you may end up on your rear end with a bruised ego...nothing that an ice cold beer won't heal.

Bruce Wall purchased this apartment in 1989

Why Bruce Wall chose Florida Central Atlantic Coast

Whether is it is a lovable puss-in-boots or a 1926 old Florida bungalow, Kim and Bruce are always looking for a good rescue project. In a sad state of neglect and disrepair, in 1989 they fell in love with and purchased this charming bungalow style home and over the years have meticulously and personally restored this home to it's original charm, yet have elevated it to a new level by tastefully integrating modern features and upgrades.

What makes this apartment unique

Old Stuart and the Loft on California turn the clock back to a 1960's Key West back-street vibe with great privacy and immense charm, without the hustle bustle of present day Key West. With shopping, dining, recreational and leisure amenities within walking distance or a short drive, all you need for a great stay with us is within a lazy arm's reach.

Quaint, cozy, romantic, and so relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time! The Loft is absolutely perfect for us. We enjoyed our stay, and plan on returning in the future. We appreciated the complimentary juice and champagne...great touch! We checked out the kayak launch sites you suggested. It was too hot for us to kayak this time - but we are anxious to get on the water the next time. Thanks so much for making our mini get-away a special time, we are definitely looking forward to our next visit!

Little piece of paradise found here in stuart that we absolutely loved

  • 5 of 5

We are local's in stuart and we're having some renovations done on our place and needed a place for the week.. We were so so blessed to have stumbled upon this fun little loft.. Me and my wife and 2 year old had the absolute best time here on the property.. It's tiny but has absolutely everything u would need and we never once felt cramped .. Great utilization of space and super cozy.. Walks into downtown for ice cream at kilwins every night and grilling on the amazing patio deck while sipping a cocktail was super relaxing after coming home from work.. We got to feed the resident tortoise "Scooter" and the property owners Bruce and his wife were really welcoming and friendly and extra accommodating.. The stained glass windows and the decor and paint sceme were just perfect aswell.. Even tho we live only a couple miles away we will def come back to stay in the loft for a fun weekend getaway in our own backyard.. Highly recommend this little slice of paradise ..

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I were really happy with this little apartment. Bruce and Kim were both extremely welcoming and polite, and they even provided champagne and juice for mimosas. It was in immaculate condition, and the decor is really something! Shower has good water pressure, and they provided soap, a loofah, shampoo and conditioner. All the appliances work well, also. We were really thrilled about the short walk to downtown Stuart and enjoyed walking the path along the water, shopping and eating! We went to Stuart beach one day and the water was gorgeous and clear. We have family in Stuart and plan to make this our base of operation for all future visits! Would only not recommend to couples that are still bathroom conscious because there is no fan and the bathroom door is vented.

Well-appointed. Made good use of the kitchen and delightful deck. Great location. Close to all downtown Stuart restaurants and shopping. Cute neighborhood and great access to music venues, too.
