The Spotted Fox is a great couples getaway! Relax in this quaint one bedroom cabin beneath the tall pines of southern Oklahoma. The front covered porch is perfect for a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine while enjoying the sites of nature in the beautiful wooded area.
All you need to bring is your food and clothes! We make every effort to stock your cabin with all the little extras. (Salt, pepper, coffee, filters, paper towels, toilet tissue, hand soap, shampoo, dish-washing soap & laundry soap)
Came up with a group from church. We all had cabins near each other. See the other cabins this was a nicest one. It was just the right size for my husband, I and our son. The pullout leather couch, fire place and BIG Tv were awesome! It also was fully stocked with kitchen items as well as towels and washer and dryer. Owner was very helpful whe. We couldnt figure out how to use the AC. She walked us through step by step.
I will be coming back! The bed was comfortable. the Owner was very responsive! Cabin was beautiful and clean. Very easy to find. It is set off a dirt road and very easy to find. Would recommend this cabin to all of my family!!
I don't even know where to begin with this. We had SO many problems booking with Ashley from the very beginning.
I booked the EAGLE EGG cabin (2 bedrooms, 2 baths) for 2 nights, paid the deposit, and then Ashley tells me that there is a 3 night minimum, so I need to cancel my booking. I ask if I will get a full refund to which she says I should. I look at the booking policy which says you do not get a refund and inform Ashley of this. THEN she agrees to let me keep my booking. I thought it probably should've been her job to know the cancellation policy and to have the minimum night stay set up properly, but that's fine I can get past this.
We get there on the day of our booking only to discover that Ashley not only booked the wrong dates, but has actually booked the wrong CABIN. She gave me the code for Spotted Fox. So there we are, standing outside Eagle Egg, the cabin that we ACTUALLY booked, and I can't get inside because Ashley doesn't stay in the area. I call several numbers, none of which are answered, and leave voicemails. Finally, Ashley texts me back saying that she can't talk and told me that I booked Spotted Fox and not Eagle Egg. So I go back in my email and screenshot my confirmation booking for Eagle Egg. She tells me she doesn't know what happened and that Spotted Fox is nicer anyway. (Okay, but I needed 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.) She does not give me the code for Eagle Egg (I'm assuming she probably double booked it because there were cars parked outside later on), and so we head over to Spotted Fox and cram into the one bedroom.
Ashley tells me (while trying to convince me to just go to Spotted Fox instead) that she will compensate the difference in the 2 cabins. Well, after the trip she stopped returning my emails and stopped returning text messages. I finally got my refund after leaving a bad review on another site.
It was a very frustrating experience, and even though the cabin itself was nice, it wasn't the cabin we booked.
It's a great, simple cabin. It's less than 2 minutes from the entrance to the park and has everything you need to have a great weekend stay. It's clean and modestly appointed with everything you need, nothing you don't.
We used the charcoal BBQ grill as well as the fire ring. You can buy firewood inside the park at the ranger station, or at the corner of the highway and the road on which this cabin is located.
Try the nearby Grateful Head for Pizza - it's fantastic.
I think it would be a tight fit for 4 adults but a family with 2 kids would enjoy it with the bunk beds. The only thing I'd point out is that the cabin is not as isolated as it seems in the pictures. The house is located on a fairly densely populated, and busy, dirt road. Not really a problem as you're probably spending most of your time in the park, but just something to note.
Truly enjoyed our stay in Oklahoma. A almost a spring fling. The cabin in the country was wonderful. The road, dusty. Many folk nearby, but still, it was a fun time. Lots of eating places nearby. The Parks have had their share of disaster caused by heavy rains, but everything still very accessible.
